Chapter 35: Putting Someone to Death
The moonlight hid behind thick clouds, letting only a sliver of faint light filter through, making it very dark.
In the shadows of the night, Su Luo, hidden behind a pillar, could not see very clearly. Moreover, she did not dare to look wantonly, only daring to steal glances with her peripheral vision.
Su Bowu stared coldly at Nangong Liuyun, a trace of Killing Intent flashing in his eyes: "The Treasure Pavilion is a restricted area; all unauthorized personnel must retreat."
Nangong Liuyun laughed, his gaze cold and icy—a completely different demeanor from when he was in front of Su Luo—and asked, "What if I insist on entering?"
"Kill without mercy!" Su Bowu's voice was cold and heartless, faintly echoing in the darkness, giving off a chilling sensation.
His voice revealed resolute confidence.
For many years, the Treasure Pavilion in the Su Residence had remained safe due to the protection of this sixth-rank elder.
In the entire Dongling Kingdom, experts above the sixth rank were extremely rare, almost few enough to be counted on one's fingers.
That was why Su Bowu had such confidence.
His Highness, the Prince of Jin, hidden entirely in black night-traveling clothes, curled the corner of his mouth into an evil smile, though his eyes were sinister and arrogant: "Kill without mercy? Then let's see who ends up killing whom."
"What arrogant words! Since you seek death, this old man will grant your wish!" A cold sneer curled Su Bowu's lips, and Killing Intent instantly appeared in his eyes. He stared at Nangong Liuyun with a venomous gaze, as if looking at a dead man.
In all the years he had guarded the Treasure Pavilion, he had certainly encountered thieves before, but he had truly never seen one act so arrogantly.
No sooner had Su Bowu finished speaking than he attacked Nangong Liuyun with his scorching Iron Sand Palms, the wind from his palms carrying sparks, scorching and burning.
Su Bowu was a fire-element mage, and in his youth, when he traveled the Jianghu, his pair of Iron Sand Palms were famous throughout the entire Dongling Kingdom.
It was evident that he was truly enraged by Nangong Liuyun, as he unleashed a killing blow the moment he attacked.
Every move was heartless and cold, intended to put the other to death.
Nangong Liuyun, however, was not the least bit flustered. The corners of his mouth twitched slightly, his eyes were cold and piercing, and his entire body was enveloped in the thick, imposing Aura of a powerful expert.
The Iron Sand Palms came surging forward with sparks, the heat pressing in.
Nangong Liuyun flipped his hands and brought them together; when he pulled them apart, a massive ball of water was drawn from his palms and pushed forward—
Upon meeting the water ball, the Iron Sand Palms were suddenly extinguished.
A flash of surprise crossed Su Bowu's eyes; he had not expected this thief's martial prowess to be so high, capable of breaking his signature technique.
"Very well, since you are bent on dying, then taste my Hell Fire!" No sooner had Su Bowu finished speaking than his hands condensed into fireballs. One after another, the fireballs flew toward Nangong Liuyun, surrounding him completely from all sides.
"Ah—" Suddenly, an uncontrollable cry of pain escaped Nangong Liuyun's lips. He clutched his left arm with his right hand and glared fiercely at Su Bowu. "We shall meet again!"
Before the words had even faded, he retreated with strange, agile movements. However, it was clear that his figure wavered slightly, as if he had been seriously injured.
"You think you can just come and go as you please? What do you take the Su Residence for? Stay!" Su Bowu snorted coldly several times, and countless small fireballs shot toward Nangong Liuyun.
But Nangong Liuyun seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, dodging and weaving with strange agility, managing not to be hit by a single one.
This truly infuriated Su Bowu!
He snorted coldly and gave chase!
However, to his surprise, Nangong Liuyun's speed did not seem to slow down as he darted aimlessly throughout the Su Residence.
