Chapter 354: Visiting the Set

Hearing Luo Xiao's response, Wang Bin slowly nodded.

Whether he got time off or not didn't matter to him; right now, he just wanted to film this movie well, to make it perfect.

After all, this was basically the first movie he had ever acted in, and he was even the lead.

How could he not take it seriously?

As for when he was an extra before, that didn't count as acting at all, since he didn't even have a single shot.

Ring, ring, ring!

Luo Xiao looked at his phone, saw that it was a call from Chen Mo, and hurriedly answered.

"Alright, President Chen, I understand."

After a while, Luo Xiao hung up the phone and put it back into his pocket.

"A call from President Chen?" Wang Bin asked curiously when he saw Luo Xiao hang up.

"Yeah!" Luo Xiao nodded.

"Does President Chen have any instructions?"

"President Chen is coming over in three days to visit the set, and he'll also treat the crew to a team-building dinner."

"Is that so? Then won't we be unable to film in three days?"

"Then we'll just take a day off; one day won't have much of an impact."

Saying this, Luo Xiao picked up the megaphone and shouted again.

"Everyone, be a little more diligent with filming over the next two days and try to catch up on our progress. In three days, President Chen will come over to organize a team-building event for us."

Hearing Luo Xiao's announcement, the crew members who were packing up the filming equipment sped up their pace.

Three days later, a black G-Wagon slowly drove into Film City.

"President Chen, the GPS shows this is the place." Yang Dahai turned his head and said to Chen Mo, who was sitting in the back seat.

"Alright, find a place to park first." Chen Mo nodded, then pushed open the car door and stepped out.

Originally, he had planned to drive home himself this time, and then drive to Kyoto.

However, after Yang Dahai's family found out he was going to Kyoto, they insisted that Yang Dahai go with him.

He had originally refused, as it was already the holidays and was supposed to be Yang Dahai's time off.

However, Yang Dahai's family was very persistent, saying it wasn't safe for him to drive to Kyoto alone, so in the end, he had no choice but to agree to let Yang Dahai be his driver.

"President Chen, you're here." Just after getting out of the car, he saw Luo Xiao and Wang Bin walking over from not far away.

"Yes. Where is everyone else?" Chen Mo looked at Luo Xiao and Wang Bin as they approached and noticed there were only the two of them.

"Everyone else is waiting over there." Luo Xiao pointed into the distance and began to lead the way.

Not long after, they arrived in front of a simple courtyard.

"President Chen, this is the place. Everyone usually rests here after filming."

Chen Mo took a brief look and frowned slightly.

He found this simple courtyard to be very shabby and looked at Luo Xiao, who was following beside him, with some dissatisfaction.

"Didn't I tell you to take good care of the actors? Why is the place they're staying so poor?"

He remembered that he had specifically instructed Luo Xiao at the time not to cut corners during filming and to properly accommodate the actors.

Luo Xiao heard President Chen's words and gave a wry smile.

"President Chen, having a courtyard is already very good. Many members of other crews are staying in tents."

"You could stay at a hotel!" Chen Mo was unmoved; if the environment in Film City was poor, then they should stay at a hotel.

"President Chen, the nearest hotels are a certain distance away from Film City. If we all move to a hotel, moving the equipment and commuting every day would take a certain amount of time."

"And for some of the heavier equipment, if the distance is too far, it's difficult for the staff to carry it." Luo Xiao hurriedly explained.

When the crew first arrived, he had also thought about having all the crew members stay at a hotel, but after considering many factors, he eventually gave up on the idea.

After all, if they stayed at a hotel, even without considering the issue of moving equipment, the daily commute time would affect the filming progress.

Is the equipment hard to carry? Chen Mo was thoughtful, then spoke indifferently.

"We'll let it slide for this shoot, but for the next shoot, everyone will stay at a hotel. Only with a good resting environment can you rest well, right? Only when you've rested well can you have a better state for filming."

"But President Chen, moving the filming equipment is a problem!" Luo Xiao said with some concern.

"That's easy to solve. Manual labor is definitely exhausting. After this shoot is over, I'll equip Lanpian Film and Television with a few more vehicles. They will be specifically used for transporting equipment during future shoots, as well as picking up and dropping off the filming crew."

Chen Mo said nonchalantly. In this way, providing vehicles and staying at hotels would be a considerable expense.

"I understand, President Chen." Luo Xiao replied, not arguing this time.

Providing vehicles could indeed solve many problems. Although it would still waste some time on the road, in future shoots, waking up 15 minutes earlier would pretty much make up for the time lost on the road.

The only downside to this plan was that it was too expensive.

Having an entire film crew stay in a hotel for three or four months of shooting was no small expense!

However, looking at President Chen, it seemed like he didn't care about the money at all.

Before Mingri Group set out to film, he had heard that President Chen cared very much for his employees.

At the time, he hadn't been with the Group for long, so he didn't have much of a concept of this care.

Now, it seemed, he understood a little bit.

"Wishing you a happy Dragon Boat Festival, President Chen."

After Chen Mo finished arranging matters for the next shoot, he walked straight into the simple courtyard.

But as soon as he approached, he was startled by a shout of 'Happy Dragon Boat Festival' and stopped in his tracks.

He turned his head to look inside the courtyard and saw a Group of crew members standing neatly in the courtyard.

"Why are you all so impatient? Wait until President Chen sees you before shouting!" Wang Bin saw President Chen looking startled and hurriedly shouted at the crew members.

"President Chen, we're sorry, we didn't rehearse it well."

"It's fine. Let's skip surprises like this next time." Chen Mo waved his hand speechlessly and spoke indifferently to the employees standing neatly.

"Are you all packed up? If so, let's head out."

"Alright, President Chen." Wang Bin nodded and began to organize the crew members to head outside.

As for the location for the team building, it had already been booked, so they could just head over there.

In Kyoto, inside a five-star hotel, many crew members slowly walked in.

Looking at the luxurious decor, they exclaimed in amazement one after another.

They were all ordinary staff members, and even the actors were students who hadn't graduated from college yet, or extras from the crew.

This was their first time entering such a high-end restaurant.

Soon, a hotel waiter came up to greet them. After Luo Xiao went up and had a brief conversation, they were led directly to a private room.

Entering the private room, the actors sat at two tables, and the filming crew sat at two tables.

Not long after, a waiter pushed a food cart in.

"Su Tang, that's an Australian lobster, and that over there looks like caviar… I heard it's very expensive."

Jiang Xue looked at the dishes on the food cart and muttered quietly, while taking out her phone to find the hotel. She quickly checked the prices of the dishes at this hotel.
