Chapter 36: Divine Kingdom Development Paths
After the meal, they went upstairs. In the room, Yang Fan took Luo Rou's right hand and directly transferred 5 million Faith Points to her.
Feeling the changes within her Divine Kingdom, Luo Rou looked puzzled and asked, "Why are you transferring 5 million Faith Points to me?"
"I will transfer them to you every month. Before I have the ability to cure you, use the water of life to keep yourself stable," Yang Fan said straightforwardly.
Luo Rou looked at Yang Fan in disbelief; her eyes held confusion, bewilderment, and even a trace of wariness.
Although these 5 million Faith Points were far less than the assets she had given Yang Fan, Luo Rou had never expected Yang Fan to transfer funds to her.
'Aren't scumbags supposed to only take and never give?'
Luo Rou felt a bit doubtful in her heart, wondering if she had misunderstood him, or if perhaps Yang Fan was playing the long game to catch a big fish.
However, her Divine Kingdom currently had no assets left; the remaining Faith Points were only for purchasing basic supplies. There was simply no fish for him to catch.
Right now, her only value was having a grandfather who was a First-Order God, but for a Divine Creature to covet the property of a god, wasn't that just courting death?
"You…" Luo Rou stopped mid-sentence, not knowing what to say.
"What?"
"Nothing. I suggest you only consider the rights and obligations within the contract. If you overthink, be careful that you end up with nothing."
"What do you mean?"
"Forget it if you don't understand." Luo Rou snorted and continued lying on the bed, preparing to rest.
With five drops of the water of life helping to suppress the poison in her Divine Kingdom, she had slept very well yesterday and now wanted to catch up on more sleep.
"I'm going to the Virtual World for class. Don't disturb me unless it's something important," Yang Fan instructed before putting on his helmet.
As Yang Fan entered the classroom, everyone's eyes landed on him.
"Brother Yang."
"Brother Yang, good morning."
Many people came up to greet him; by now, Yang Fan's status in Class 7, Third Year of High School was on the same level as Li Shuhao.
"Foster father, over here! I've saved a seat for you," Zhang Pang jumped up and shouted.
Watching the other guy act the clown, Yang Fan smiled knowingly and strode over.
Sitting down beside Zhang Pang, Yang Fan noticed that the other guy appeared somewhat restrained.
"What's up?" Yang Fan asked.
"Um, foster father."
"Stop, just call me Brother Yang. That title is fine once, but it's weird to keep using it," Yang Fan rolled his eyes.
"Alright, Brother Yang. I heard you married into the Luo Family and are now a second-rate genius of the Luo Family," Zhang Pang said, his face full of curiosity.
"How did you know?"
Yang Fan was also somewhat surprised. All of this had only happened yesterday; how did it spread so quickly?
"It's spread all over the school. There are quite a few direct descendants of the Luo Family in Class 1, Third Year of High School. This news spread through the chat groups, from ten to a hundred people. By this morning, basically the whole school knew. Yang County is only so big; what secrets could there be?" Zhang Pang explained.
Hearing this, Yang Fan nodded, tacitly accepting it.
"Brother Yang, you're really awesome to run into such a good thing. That's the Luo Family, one of the two great families. From now on, you've flown up the branch to become a real dragon," Zhang Pang said, full of envy.
Being a son-in-law of the Luo Family isn't something anyone can just become. Why did they settle on Yang Fan? It must be because they saw his potential.
"Brother Yang, when are you coming to my house for a meal? Remember to bring my sister-in-law."
"Your sister-in-law isn't in good health and it's inconvenient for her to go out, so you can come to my place instead."
"Alright, I'll come over for a free meal tonight."
"I've moved to a new place. I'll give you the address when the time comes."
"You moved so quickly!"
As the two were chatting away, Li Qingying arrived in the classroom.
At that moment, her gaze also lingered on Yang Fan for a moment.
"After the school's first major assessment ended, some students just went through the motions, while others gained a huge harvest. The matter is in the past, so I won't be criticizing or praising anyone here."
"Next, you need to prepare for the midterm exam. Especially those students in our class who are following the war path; for you, this is an important streaming exam. Not only does the school have corresponding rewards, but the factions you belong to will also use this exam as a basis for evaluation to determine your ranking."
"The midterm exam in three months is a major competition second only to the college entrance exam. You cannot slack off from now on."
"Yes, teacher," everyone responded in unison.
"Today we are going to talk about the growth paths of believers. Student Yang Fan, I wonder what your insights are?" Li Qingying called his name directly.
'Again?' Yang Fan felt bitter in his heart. He really didn't like answering questions in class.
He just wanted to listen attentively and absorb knowledge, so how did he become the student representative? He didn't like the pressure of being in class!
"Ahem, Teacher Li, I don't have any unique insights," Yang Fan said awkwardly.
"Really?" Li Qingying looked suspicious. She didn't believe Yang Fan's answer at all.
He had scored over twenty points in the first prosperity level assessment. With such a knowledge reserve, he must have been studying hard in the library frequently; how could he not know this?
Li Qingying, who felt she had been tricked by Yang Fan last time, only felt that he was playing the pig to eat the tiger again.
Li Qingying felt a bit helpless about this; the top student in her class seemed a bit too low-key, making it hard to use him as an example.
"Li Shuhao, you tell us," Li Qingying said, turning her head.
Li Shuhao stood up and spoke eloquently: "After believers reach the status of mortals, they begin to break through levels, from First-Order creatures to Fifth-Order creatures. After that, the Divine Kingdom must choose a development direction, which is what the teacher calls a path."
"Currently, there are three most common paths for the development of human Divine Kingdoms."
"The Cultivation path: Practicing techniques, from the inside out. The spiritual roots of believers are roughly divided into Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. The realms are Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, etc."
"The Martial Arts path: Practicing techniques from the outside in. The realms are Martial Disciple, Martial Master, Martial King, Martial Emperor, etc."
"The Mechanical path: Not focusing on technique Cultivation, but choosing to use technology to modify the body. It is divided into First-Class Intelligent Life, Second-Class Intelligent Life, and so on."
"Besides the three main paths, there are also the Phantom God path which focuses on the spiritual level, the Zombie path which follows the virus route, and so on."
"However, there is too little information on other paths. They are often only suitable for specific groups of people, and the development direction is too singular. Unless there are special circumstances, it is not recommended to try them."
Li Qingying was very satisfied with Li Shuhao's answer: "Not bad. You are worthy of being the top student in our class. Even after becoming a second-rate genius of the Li Family, you still take the time to learn all kinds of knowledge. Keep it up, and your future achievements will surely be extraordinary."
"Thank you for the compliment, teacher. I still have a lot to learn in terms of theoretical knowledge, and I dare not show off in front of my classmates." At this point, Li Shuhao deliberately glanced at Yang Fan.
By now, the default top student in Class 7, Third Year of High School was Yang Fan. Even though he would just answer that he didn't know when asked questions in class, everyone just assumed he was being low-key.
Watching the admiring gazes everyone directed toward him, Yang Fan felt restless.
He really didn't know what Li Shuhao had just said. Why were all these people starting to "overthink" it.
