Chapter 370: Negotiation

"Wu Jie!"

Before Zhang Lan could speak, Xu Lei couldn't help but turn her head and rebuke Wu Jie, while simultaneously glancing at Li Xiaoxiao.

These two guys, they really are a pair of useless teammates!

She had just managed to build the right atmosphere; if Zhang Lan had even a shred of softness or nostalgia, there was a high probability she would have agreed.

But these two guys had just gone and ruined that atmosphere.

They really are more of a hindrance than a help.

It seems that after joining the Entertainment Company, I'll need to stay away from these two; otherwise, I won't even know how I get dragged down by them.

Zhang Lan ignored Xu Lei's rebuke and looked indifferently at Wu Jie and Li Xiaoxiao.

After a moment, she let out a soft laugh.

"The other conditions remain the same; the compensation is 2 million."

"Zhang Lan…"

Hearing Zhang Lan's words, Xu Lei couldn't help but turn to look at Zhang Lan, her expression somewhat anxious.

Zhang Lan looked at Xu Lei and said unhurriedly.

"It's 2 million, not a penny less. Otherwise, no one will use those songs."

"Actually, 2 million is already very little, isn't it? Just for that song on the new song chart, as long as the Entertainment Company packages it and adds some operations, you know how much money that song can make without me having to say more."

"This 2 million isn't coming out of your pockets; it's definitely coming from the Entertainment Company. So you don't need to look troubled; just convey my terms to the Entertainment Company."

"Either agree, or no one uses those songs. There is no other choice."

Zhang Lan's attitude was firm. She had originally thought that since everyone had struggled together—back when the club was just starting and times were at their toughest—they had shared the hardships.

Why should she still be hung up on those songs?

But the attitude revealed by Wu Jie and Li Xiaoxiao made her feel that her thoughts were truly laughable.

"Zhang Lan, can we discuss this further? After all, this 2 million…"

Xu Lei looked at Zhang Lan, wanting to persuade her some more, but before she could finish her sentence, Zhang Lan interrupted her directly.

"There's no need to discuss it further. It's 2 million, no room for negotiation."

Zhang Lan's tone was firm, giving absolutely no opportunity for rebuttal.

Seeing Zhang Lan's firm expression, Xu Lei knew that anything she said would be useless. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but turn her head and glare at Li Xiaoxiao and Wu Jie behind her.

"Wait for me a moment."

After saying this to Zhang Lan, Xu Lei walked away to a distance and made a phone call.

Soon, the call connected.

After some time, Xu Lei hung up the phone and walked back, looking at Zhang Lan and speaking indifferently.

"Fine, 2 million it is. I'll go print the contract. The 2 million fee will be transferred to you after the contract is signed."

Going from 500,000 to 2 million, she was also caught off guard.

Actually, the price given by the Entertainment Company was 1 million. She had thought that by playing the emotional card, she could secure it for 500,000.

Everything had been proceeding smoothly; she hadn't expected it to be ruined in the end by these two useless teammates, Wu Jie and Li Xiaoxiao.

Not only did she lose out on the 500,000 difference, but the Entertainment Company had to spend an extra 1 million, which left them somewhat dissatisfied with her.

However, at least an agreement had been reached. To avoid any further complications, it was better to sign the contract as soon as possible.

As for the dissatisfaction from the Entertainment Company, she believed that as long as she demonstrated her value within the company and earned them money—more than two, five, or ten times that 2 million—that dissatisfaction would naturally disappear.

"Fine!"

Zhang Lan didn't hesitate this time either. Since she had already decided, there was no need to drag it out any further.

After signing the contract, everyone would go their separate ways, parting on good terms.

Two hours later, at Nanhe Coffee,

Zhang Lan glanced at the contract in her hand, confirmed there were no issues, and signed it directly.

Seeing that Zhang Lan had signed, Xu Lei breathed a sigh of relief and spoke softly to Zhang Lan, who was sitting opposite her.

"Thank you!"

Regardless, Zhang Lan hadn't chosen to go down with the ship, and for that, she was quite grateful.

"What's the use of saying that? If there's nothing else, you can leave. I want to have a moment of peace."

Zhang Lan looked at Xu Lei and took a sip of coffee with an expressionless face.

It was a bit bitter!

Xu Lei looked at Zhang Lan, said nothing more, stood up, and left directly.

Seeing Xu Lei stand up and leave, Li Xiaoxiao and Wu Jie hurriedly stood up to follow her, but as they passed by Zhang Lan, they couldn't help but speak.

"You will regret not joining the Entertainment Company."

After saying that, they walked away quickly.

Regret!

Zhang Lan murmured to herself, then let out a soft laugh.

What is there to regret?

She had started with nothing, to begin with; it was just returning to the initial starting point.

Hmm! Perhaps it couldn't be said that she was back to the start; there were still some gains, right?

She lowered her head and looked at the contract in her hand.

2 million!

At least the money Shen Rou invested hadn't gone down the drain.

Thinking of Shen Rou, Zhang Lan smiled involuntarily. That was a true friend!

She took out her phone, sent a message, downed the remaining half cup of coffee in one gulp, and left the coffee shop.

Hmm! The coffee price at the coffee shop owned by Shen Rou's boss was really high—188 a cup. But it was Xu Lei's money anyway.

…

5:00 PM.

Mingri Group.

Top floor, Assistant's office.

Shen Rou quickly organized her work, finished planning tomorrow's tasks, and walked quickly out of the Group company.

"Hello, Assistant Shen!"

"Hello, Assistant Shen!"

"…"

In the elevator, she met many Group employees who were getting off work.

Those employees greeted her one after another. Although Shen Rou was just an assistant, she was the President's assistant.

A President's assistant often held more authority than the general managers of those branch companies!

How could they not show respect?

"Hmm, hello everyone!"

Shen Rou responded with a smile.

In fact, she usually stayed in the office for a while after work, leaving only after most of the Group's employees had left.

However, this afternoon, after seeing the message Zhang Lan sent, she was a bit anxious and didn't wait any longer.

She exited the elevator and arrived outside the building.

She didn't take the subway as usual, but hailed a taxi directly.

Half an hour later, Shen Rou rushed to the door of a basement and knocked gently.

But after knocking twice, the door opened by itself.

The door wasn't locked.

She pushed the door open and walked in gently; a smell of alcohol rushed towards her.

Shen Rou frowned slightly, her gaze quickly falling on a figure in the distance.

She saw Zhang Lan leaning against a wall in the basement, with several empty wine bottles in front of her.

Seeing this scene, Shen Rou couldn't help but feel worried, and she walked over quickly.

"What exactly happened? Why did the club disband?"

Coming to Zhang Lan's side, Shen Rou couldn't help but ask.

"Rou Rou, you're here. Hug."

Hearing the voice and seeing who it was, Zhang Lan stretched out her arms, making a hugging gesture.
