Chapter 397: Recruiting
Qin Ming brought Sima Shuo out from a Restaurant in Yan City and returned with him to the Qingya Pill Workshop.
"Send out a message saying that our Pill Shop is still short one assistant," Qin Ming said to Sima Shuo, who was arranging Medicinal Pills on the shelves.
"Ah?" Sima Shuo said nervously. "Master, is there something I am not doing well?"
The Pill Shop only sold one hundred bottles of Medicinal Pills every day, and every customer voluntarily queued up, so there was no need for extra help. With Qin Ming suddenly wanting to recruit someone, Sima Shuo worried that he hadn't done a good job.
Qin Ming shook his head and said, "You are doing very well. It is just that Master has some things that need to be done. You don't need to worry about it; just be responsible for the recruitment. Tell anyone who wants to work in the Pill Shop to come over this afternoon. I will personally select the person in the afternoon."
"Okay," Sima Shuo replied. His Master was usually very mysterious, and the perfect elixir seemed endless. Sima Shuo would not ask about things he did not understand; he just focused on doing his own job and practicing his Alchemy well.
"Master, the method you taught me is very useful. I can now condense the pill, and I believe that before long, I will be able to refine Medicinal Pills."
Qin Ming smiled and said, "Not bad, keep it up."
"Yes," Sima Shuo said happily.
Qin Ming walked into the back room, sat cross-legged on the cushion, and began to Cultivate.
…
"What? The shop is recruiting now? Your Master must be a formidable Alchemist, right? I am a Grand Alchemist, and I want to help out at the shop." A thin Young Man's eyes lit up when he heard Sima Shuo say they were recruiting.
Sima Shuo glanced at the Young Man and said, "Alright, come back this afternoon. Master will personally select the person."
"Good, good, I will come over this afternoon." The Young Man left happily.
"Me, me." A Middle-aged Man also shouted loudly, "Count me in, I am quick with my hands and feet."
"And me." Many people queuing to buy Medicinal Pills shouted loudly.
"Okay, okay," Sima Shuo said loudly, "Anyone who is interested can come over this afternoon to try out."
Soon, it was afternoon, and a crowd of people had been waiting outside the door for a long time.
Some of these people had heard about the recruitment in the shop this morning, while others had heard from others in the city and came over specifically.
The shop door opened, and Qin Ming walked out from the shop. Seeing over a hundred people standing at the door, he was startled.
"I am only recruiting one person, why do so many people want to come?" Qin Ming said.
A Young Man shouted loudly, "We see that your shop is full of perfect elixir, and we want to see the Great Master who can refine perfect elixir. Are you that Great Master who can refine perfect elixir?"
Qin Ming nodded, "Yes, I am."
"Can you teach me? I am already a Grand Alchemist, but I cannot even refine the most basic first-grade Medicinal Pill to the perfect stage. I want to take you as my Master." The Young Man's eyes lit up as he asked.
Qin Ming shook his head, "I do not want to take a Disciple right now. You can go to the Pill Alliance; with your Aptitude, they should be very pleased."
"Not taking a Disciple." The Young Man lowered his head.
"Alright, those who are here because they want to learn Alchemy can leave now. I will not teach any Alchemy." Qin Ming scanned the crowd and said loudly.
Upon hearing this, more than forty people left the line and stood to the side.
Qin Ming added, "I am not considering anyone over twenty for the time being. I am recruiting a Family Servant, not just an assistant."
More than fifty people left, leaving only three people at the scene.
Qin Ming nodded and asked, "Which of you three has the highest martial arts?"
"I am at the first level of the Martial Ancestor."
"Third level of the Great Martial Master."
"Ninth level of the Martial Master."
The few replied one after another.
Qin Ming looked at the youth with the highest martial arts. The youth had short hair, bright eyes, and a thin sword at his waist.
"Are you willing to be my Family Servant?"
"I am willing." The youth nodded.
"Good, it will be you," Qin Ming smiled.
This youth was a Disciple of the Huayu Sect. Qin Ming had staged this scene on purpose to put on a show for the Powers in Yan City.
