Chapter 428: Surviving the Aftermath 1

Su Luo's joy had turned to sorrow.

All of her good luck had truly been exhausted earlier, and what remained was nothing but bad luck.

The spirit bullet ball exploded with immense power, blasting Li Aotian into oblivion.

However, Su Luo had overlooked the aftermath triggered by the spirit bullet ball, and the impact of this aftermath on her would be immense.

In that instant, around the point of the explosion, towering waves surged, churning up thousands of sprays. With a loud crash, they spread in all directions like wild beasts.

Su Luo had previously been ruthlessly flung aside by Li Aotian, sliding along the smooth ground all the way to the edge of the plaza.

In fact, at that moment, one of Su Luo's feet was already hanging over the sea; the slightest disturbance would have been enough to blow her into the water.

And now, towering waves accompanied by a cold wind were sweeping toward her!

A flash of horror crossed Su Luo's eyes, and her intestines turned green with regret. "It's over, it's over…"

The fingers that had managed a Breakthrough through the ice layer clung desperately to the edge of the plaza, using every ounce of strength she could muster. If she let go, she would fall into the sea.

Unfortunately, only two of her fingers had managed a Breakthrough through the ice, not her entire hand, so her grip was incredibly weak.

As the waves came roaring in, Su Luo held on as long as she could, but she could no longer endure it. Her fingers slipped from the rocks on the shore, and then, she watched helplessly as her ice-sculpted self was swept away by the waves with a splash…

The density of the ice was lower than that of seawater, so the ice-sculpted Su Luo floated on the surface rather than sinking straight to the bottom of the sea; this was the silver lining in her misfortune.

However, what made her feel pained and tragic was—

The cruise ship was right in front, at a distance almost within arm's reach.

But—

After being struck by the waves, she watched helplessly as she was washed away, watched helplessly as she drifted in the opposite direction of the cruise ship, and watched helplessly as she contemplated her fate of drifting on the sea.

This was simply too heartbreaking, too despairing… Su Luo was so helpless she was on the verge of tears.

The East Sea was vast and boundless; heaven knows where she would be swept away to… Whenever she thought of this, the ice-encased Su Luo would silently weep two streams of thick, noodle-like tears.

However, what could those two fingers of hers do? In the boundless sea, she could only resign herself to fate and drift with the current.

Before nature, her meager strength left her absolutely no room to resist.

The pitiful girl had no idea that her bad luck for the day had only just begun.

It was currently nighttime.

In the desolate night sky, not a single shadow of a star could be seen. The originally dim crescent moon was also obscured by thick clouds, leaving everything pitch black, so dark one couldn't even see their own hand.

Su Luo's heart was filled with misery.

Being battered, tossed about, and drifting with the waves was one thing, but was she not even to be given the chance to lie in the sea and enjoy the beautiful night sky?

She didn't even know which direction she was drifting in… Su Luo grew increasingly desperate, gradually feeling drowsy.

However, what Su Luo did not expect was that an even more tragic event would occur.

Suddenly—

A bolt of lightning, swift as a Dragon, flashed across the horizon and vanished in an instant, leaving behind a blinding glare.

At this moment, a bad premonition suddenly welled up in Su Luo's heart.

It couldn't be what she was thinking, could it? She couldn't be that unlucky, right? She just happened to run into a storm at sea?

However, there is no "most tragic," only "more tragic."

It could be said that when a person is unlucky, even drinking water will get stuck between their teeth, and Su Luo was the typical example of such a person.
