Chapter 43: The Treasure Map Fragment Appears (1)

"What is this?" Su Zian asked, suppressing his pain, as he threw the purple jade fish pendant at him.

"The purple jade fish pendant?"

"This is yours, isn't it?" Su Zian's eyes were sinister as he sneered incessantly, making Su Jingyu's legs tremble.

"It is indeed mine, but I accidentally lost it three days ago."

"Lost it? You say you lost it now?" Su Zian sneered repeatedly, stepping closer with every word.

"Lock him up and interrogate him thoroughly! Even if he isn't the thief, he is definitely involved!" Su Bowu held the still-warm purple jade fish pendant, a flash of malice in his eyes.

A secluded courtyard in the Su Residence.

The entire Su Residence was brightly lit and incredibly noisy; only this secluded courtyard remained as quiet as the dead of night.

After shaking off a group of tails, Nangong Liuyun ran to find Su Luo with a grin.

By now, he had changed into a night-traveling outfit.

At this moment, he was as handsome as a stunning man who had walked out of a painting; his features were like a sculpture from ancient Greece, sharply defined, and his expression was gentle and languid, carrying an enchanting, faint smile amidst his devilish charm.

"How was it? Did I perform well?" Nangong Liuyun leaned against a Qionghua tree, arms crossed, gazing at Su Luo with a faint, smiling expression.

"Barely passable." Su Luo sat on a stone stool in the courtyard, a pot of clear tea placed on the stone table in front of her, with wisps of tea fragrance curling and lingering in the air.

Facing her lukewarm attitude, Nangong Liuyun not only didn't mind, but instead shamelessly leaned in close to her, his hot breath brushing against her ear as he spoke in a low, ambiguous voice: "Good girl, did you get the heavenly spirit water?"

"Of course, you have to see who went on the mission." Su Luo had never failed a mission; even though she was now in ancient times and the difficulty had increased countless times over, it still couldn't stump her.

She handed the heavenly spirit water to him, a hint of triumph in her eyes. "I thought the security was so tight, but it turned out to be nothing special."

Nangong Liuyun dotingly tapped her forehead with his long, smooth, slender fingers. "Keep bragging. If I hadn't lured that old man away, do you think it would have been that simple?"

"By the way, what is this map? Have you seen it before?" Su Luo rolled her eyes at him, then handed the yellowed piece of paper to Nangong Liuyun.

She couldn't understand the crooked, strange characters on it at all.

Nangong Liuyun took it and looked at it carefully. He had been looking at it casually at first, but after reading a few lines, a slight change appeared in his eyes.

His expression had originally carried a trace of a roguish smile, but after a quarter of an hour, his expression actually shifted slightly.

Something that could change the expression of His Highness the Prince of Jin could not possibly be anything simple.

Su Luo looked at Nangong Liuyun earnestly, staring intently at the expression on his face.

Su Luo blinked, her beautiful eyes lively and moving with a touch of curiosity. "What? Could it really be a treasure map?"

"Where did you get this?" Nangong Liuyun asked, rarely serious.

This thing was definitely not simple; how could it be produced so casually? Moreover, as far as he knew, Su Luo was a concubine-born daughter of the Su Residence, and one who was very unfavored at that; how could she have such a treasure in her hands?

Nangong Liuyun was very puzzled, so he just looked at Su Luo quietly, waiting for the answer from her lips.

Seeing Nangong Liuyun so serious, Su Luo became somewhat puzzled instead.

What on earth was this thing, that it could cause Nangong Liuyun to treat it so seriously?
