Chapter 460: You’ve Been Exposed

Mo Hen's long, narrow phoenix eyes narrowed.

"No?"

"Say that again."

Chu He spread his hands.

"There really isn't."

"That silver-haired man didn't ask anything at all and let me pass the interview very readily."

"The whole process took less than two minutes."

The more Chu He talked, the more he felt something was wrong. He looked at Mo Hen and asked defensively, lacking confidence.

"Could it be… could it be that when you went in, he established some kind of link with you?"

Mo Hen didn't answer.

He just quietly looked at Chu He with a look that people use to look at a fool.

Chu He felt entirely uncomfortable under this gaze. He forcibly puffed out his chest, trying to regain his Aura.

"What are you looking at me for?"

He smiled feigning ease.

"Maybe it's because I'm too outstanding."

"That man saw my extraordinariness at a glance, so he directly waived those tedious procedures."

The more Chu He talked, the more reasonable it sounded, and the confidence on his face returned.

"Besides, who said that people who go in for an interview will definitely have a contract signed with them?"

"Can't there be exceptions?"

Mo Hen finally spoke.

He scoffed, his voice filled with undisguised disdain.

"Exceptions?"

"Do you think that's possible?"

"You don't really think the Eternal Night Guild's interview is just calling people in to make small talk, do you?"

Chu He's smile froze on his face once again.

The corners of Mo Hen's mouth curled into a mocking arc.

He clapped his hands as if suddenly realizing something.

"Oh, I see."

"No wonder their interview acceptance rate is so low."

Mo Hen's gaze swept across the Professionals still waiting in line around them, the contempt in his eyes growing even denser.

"As long as they can't sign that kind of forced contract with them, they will be eliminated."

"Even S-Class Professionals are no exception."

He withdrew his gaze, let it fall back onto Chu He, and said word by word.

"That Eternal Night Guild only wants obedient dogs."

Right.

Everything made sense now.

That eerie contract was the core of the interview.

Pass, and become their "servants".

Fail, and be directly eliminated.

Simple, crude, efficient.

This was the real reason why the Eternal Night Guild could rise rapidly in a short period of time.

They didn't care what kind of Genius you were at all, nor did they care how much potential you had.

They only wanted absolute loyalty and absolute control.

Thinking this through, Mo Hen grinned.

"This Eternal Night Guild is really interesting."

Chu He pointed at himself somewhat numbly.

"In that case…"

"Then why… was I accepted?"

Mo Hen rolled his eyes at the other party and said coldly:

"Idiot. What else could it be?"

"You most likely have already been exposed."

Chu He frowned slightly.

Exposed?

How was this possible?

He still found it a bit hard to believe.

He clearly behaved very normally and impeccably, how did the other party discover it?

"Hey, are you sure?" Chu He lowered his voice and pressed Mo Hen beside him.

Mo Hen crossed his arms, too lazy to even lift his eyelids.

"A piece of advice."

"If you run now, it's still not too late."

Just as he was pondering, someone in the distance was calling his name.

"Chu He!"

Chu He snapped back to his senses and turned to look.

The one calling him was precisely Jasmine, the guild leader of the Eternal Night Guild.

She was standing not far away, waving directly at him, with a professional, gentle smile on her face, signaling him to come over.

Mo Hen, standing beside him, reminded him again in a barely audible voice.

"Be careful, there's a high chance there will be an ambush."

"However, I strongly suggest you choose to run away right now."

"Run away?"

The corners of Chu He's mouth curled upwards uncontrollably.

"This is definitely not my, Chu He's, style."

If Zhou Huai heard these words, he would definitely sneer twice.

Who knows who it was back then in the prison that even crawled through a toilet just to save their life.

The doubt and solemnity on Chu He's face instantly dissipated.

Replaced by it was a flattered, beaming expression.

He walked quickly up to Jasmine, bowed slightly, and lowered his posture.

"Guild Leader Jasmine, you were looking for me?"

There was not the slightest abnormality in the expression on Jasmine's face.

"Mr. Chu He, on behalf of the Eternal Night Guild, I welcome your joining once again."

"I've looked at your profile, an S-Class Water Professional, very outstanding."

"You are the talent our guild urgently needs, and the future elite backbone of our Eternal Night Guild."

These words made Chu He feel comfortable inside, and an appropriate amount of excitement and honor also appeared on his face.

"Guild Leader flatters me. Being able to join Eternal Night is my honor!"

Jasmine nodded with satisfaction, her gaze sweeping across the few people still waiting in line not far away.

"Well, I happen to have a little matter."

"I want to gather you newly joined S-Class Geniuses for a small meeting so you can get to know each other."

Soon, including Chu He, five S-Class Professionals who had just passed the interview were led by Jasmine to in front of an independent meeting room.

Jasmine pushed open the door and made a "please" gesture.

The room was empty.

There was only a cold long metal table and a few chairs.

The walls were gray, there were no windows, and the overhead lighting was blindingly white.

The atmosphere carried an indescribable oppression.

The remaining four S-Class Professionals all wore a bit of perplexity on their faces.

One of them, a tall, burly man with a violent Aura, couldn't help but speak.

"Guild Leader, are you sure we're holding the meeting here?"

This place didn't look like a meeting room no matter how you looked at it; it looked more like an interrogation room.

Jasmine still maintained that perfect smile as she walked to the center of the room and turned around.

Her gaze swept across everyone, finally fixing on Chu He's face.

Then, she spoke calmly.

"Except for Chu He."

"The four of you, head out first."

As the words fell.

The atmosphere of the entire room instantly became serious.

Those four S-Class Professionals looked at each other in dismay, not understanding what had happened.

But this was the guild leader's order, and they dared not disobey.

After a brief hesitation, they walked out of the room, looking back every three steps.

With a soft "clack", the heavy metal door was closed.

In the entire room, only Chu He and Jasmine were left.

Chu He narrowed his eyes.

The smile on his face finally slowly receded.

Look at this stance.

It seemed to really be just as Mo Hen said.

He had already been exposed.

This was a trap specially set up targeting him.

Thinking this through, there was not the slightest panic on Chu He's face.

Instead, an irrepressible sense of excitement surged up from the depths of his heart, making his eyes turn somewhat dangerous.

He liked this feeling.

He licked his somewhat dry lips and looked at Jasmine with a playful gaze.

"Guild Leader, what do you mean by this?"

Jasmine just smiled calmly at him without speaking.

In the deepest shadow in the corner of the room, a figure slowly emerged.

That was a silver-haired man with skin so white it was almost transparent.

He walked out from the shadows, silently, yet brought a mountain-like sense of oppression.

A low and magnetic voice resounded in the empty room, carrying a hint of banter.

"Sorry."

"The one looking for you isn't Jasmine."

"It's me."
