Chapter 469: Your Vigilance Is Quite High

The heavy iron door was slammed open.

Two figures were crudely tossed in, crashing heavily onto the cold, damp ground.

"Bang!"

The iron door closed once more, and the loud crash of the lock echoed through the empty basement, cutting off all light and sound from the outside.

Absolute darkness descended.

The air was filled with a fishy stench mixed with rust and earth.

Chu He struggled slightly, only to find himself tightly bound.

Furthermore, heavy shackles were fitted onto his wrists and ankles.

The shackles were forged from dark metal, engraved with intricate runes, and an invisible force spread through his entire body along the chains.

The energy within his body seemed frozen, and he could no longer mobilize even a fraction of it.

This was the military's Law-Suppressing Chain.

Once put on, you could forget about using any skills.

Zhou Huai felt that this item was indeed very practical, specially used to imprison high-tier Professionals.

He had Ou Yezi forge some of them in secret.

Chu He's charred body moved, producing a crisp sound of bones shifting out of place.

Mo Hen, who was beside him, sat on the ground without a word, like a puppet that had lost its Soul, with hollow eyes.

"Clang!"

Right at this moment, the sound of dragging chains came from the corner of the basement.

A figure stood up, cursing.

"Dammit! Are there new arrivals again?"

"You bunch of bastards from the Eternal Night Guild, exactly how long are you going to lock me up!"

That voice was filled with impatience and irritability.

"You've interrogated me and questioned me!"

"Everything that should or shouldn't be said, I've said it all. Why won't you let me go yet?"

"If you want to kill or slice me, at least give me a straightforward answer!"

The man speaking was none other than Luo Ming, an S-Class Professional and Calamity Cursed Mage of the Tianyu Guild.

Ever since he was captured by Zhou Huai, he had been locked up here all this time.

Zhou Huai had been busy with matters concerning Sakura Country recently and had almost forgotten about him.

Luo Ming continued to hurl abuses toward the doorway.

"Tell that damned master of yours!"

"I belong to the Dawnbreaker Guild!"

"If the people from the Dawnbreaker Guild find out you captured me, you will definitely suffer the consequences!"

Outside the door, two members of the Eternal Night Guild exchanged glances, both showing expressions as if looking at an idiot.

They shook their heads, too lazy to bother, and turned to leave.

Inside the basement, Chu He's charred body slowly propped itself up.

Although his appearance was miserable, his spirit was much better.

He turned his head and looked at the man still clamoring in the corner with an extremely bizarre gaze.

"You're from the Dawnbreaker Guild?"

"How come I didn't know that?"

Luo Ming's cursing voice abruptly stopped.

He was stunned for a moment, and only then began to size up the two new prisoners on the ground.

One looked like a piece of charcoal just dug out of a crematorium.

The other sat there in a daze, eyes hollow like an idiot.

Seeing how disheveled both of them were, the vigilance in Luo Ming's eyes instantly turned into disdain.

"Whether I'm from the Dawnbreaker Guild or not is any of your business?"

"What kind of things are the two of you?"

Chu He showed not a trace of Life Qi, instead he smiled.

Even though his current appearance made his smile uglier than crying.

"Didn't you say you were from the Dawnbreaker Guild?"

"How can you not even recognize your own colleague?"

"We are indeed from the Dawnbreaker Guild."

Luo Ming sized up the two of them with a suspicious look on his face.

Doubts began to arise in his heart.

What on earth is the background of this Eternal Night Guild?

To actually have such great ability that they could even capture people from the Dawnbreaker Guild?

Half-believing and half-doubtful, he decided to test them.

"Since you say you're from the Dawnbreaker Guild, do you guys know Luo Feng?"

The Luo Feng in Luo Ming's mouth was his older brother.

He was once also a member of the Dawnbreaker Guild.

Hearing this name, a trace of surprise clearly flashed within the hollows of Chu He's face where eyes could still be made out.

"You actually know Luo Feng's name."

"What is your relationship with him?"

Now it was Luo Ming's turn to be surprised.

The other party's reaction did not seem fake.

He said in a deep voice, "He's my older brother."

"Your older brother?"

Chu He nodded, seemingly recalling something.

"Back then, I did hear that bastard Luo Feng mention once that he had a younger brother."

"It's said he's a Curse Master."

Luo Ming instinctively corrected, "He's a Calamity Cursed Mage."

As soon as the words left his mouth, he basically believed that this piece of "charcoal" before him was most likely truly a member of the Dawnbreaker Guild.

But this also made him even more puzzled.

The Eternal Night Guild was merely an obscure little guild in Donghai City.

How on earth could they capture someone from the Dawnbreaker Guild?

And judging by this stance, there was more than one.

That man beside him acting like an idiot was probably one too.

Luo Ming had been imprisoned here for too long, and his information was completely cut off.

He didn't even know that Donghai City had recently experienced a terrifying beast tide worthy of being recorded in history.

When the beast tide broke out, he was still fast asleep, locked in this pitch-dark basement.

Now that the other party's identity was confirmed, the arrogant aura in Luo Ming's heart instantly dissipated quite a bit.

He shifted his body, leaned a little closer, and lowered his voice by a few shades.

"How did my brother… die?"

This question had been pent up in his heart for a very long time.

Back then, he only knew that his older brother Luo Feng went missing during a mission, with his life or death unknown.

Hearing this, Chu He wore an extremely bizarre expression on his face.

"Dead?"

Chu He smacked his lips.

"Strictly speaking, your brother… shouldn't be considered completely dead yet."

Luo Ming knitted his brows tightly.

"What does that mean?"

Chu He was just about to open his mouth to explain.

"Shut up."

A cold, crisp voice rang out in the basement without any warning.

Mo Hen, sitting in the corner like a puppet, raised his head at some unknown point.

In those hollow eyes of his, a trace of luster returned as he stared coldly at Chu He.

"Careful, walls have ears."

Chu He was startled so badly by this that his entire body shivered.

Only then did he react, realizing this was a prison of the Eternal Night Guild, not a tea party of the Dawnbreaker Guild.

He had almost blurted out things that shouldn't be said.

He hurriedly shut his mouth, patting his charred chest with lingering fear.

Yet right at this moment,

"Sigh…"

A slight sigh drifted leisurely from the deepest shadows of the basement.

The voice was not loud, but it felt like a heavy hammer slamming fiercely against the hearts of Mo Hen and Chu He.

The expressions of the two changed slightly, and they abruptly looked toward the direction the sound came from.

They saw a slender figure slowly emerging from that thick, unyielding darkness.

Silver long hair flowed with a faint glow in the dim light, and on a handsome face carrying a bit of melancholy, the corners of the mouth were hooked into an amused arc.

It was Moria controlled by Zhou Huai.

He had been here all along.

Ever since the two of them were tossed in, he had been hiding in the shadows, quietly watching this farce.

Moria's gaze swept past Chu He and Luo Ming, landing on Mo Hen.

He clapped his hands appreciatively.

"As expected of people from the Dawnbreaker Guild."

"Your vigilance is quite high."
