Chapter 47 Wei Yan: President Chen, There Is Good News
"Brother, you're the one who killed my brother."
Chen Mo found himself pulled directly into a chat room, where the local tyrant typed out the question.
To this, he didn't stand on ceremony and replied with two words.
"That's right!"
"You've got guts. In that case, I'll beat you into submission first. It's not like I haven't killed a max-geared account before."
The chat room disbanded.
The opposing team had already started using skills to attack him.
Chen Mo watched the attacks without a hint of panic. When the attacks landed on him, he only lost one or two bars of health, and he could recover by taking a potion; it was no different from being tickled.
However, he soon noticed something wrong. Among those numerous attacks, a few of them could actually deplete a small bar of his health in one hit.
The other side had max-geared accounts, and more than one.
Realizing this, Chen Mo didn't want to just sit and wait for death, so he prepared to take the initiative.
But there were simply too many people on the other side; he couldn't find where their max-geared accounts were hiding.
Not long after.
Chen Mo looked at the gray computer screen and the taunts from the other side in the private chat interface.
He hadn't expected that even after getting a max-geared account, he still wasn't their match.
The main issue was that the other side also had max-geared accounts, and more than one at that.
Should he get a few more max-geared accounts? That shouldn't be difficult to arrange with Fang Chang, but who would he get to play them?
Letting employees play was definitely out of the question; that would surely be flagged as a violation by the system.
But if he found people himself, where would he find so many people to play games? This method wouldn't work.
Suddenly, Chen Mo's eyes lit up. Since he couldn't find people to play, he could make a move regarding the equipment.
He could have Fang Chang develop a new set of equipment with stats that completely crushed the previous gear. When the time came, since only he would have the max-gear, the other side wouldn't be able to do anything, right?
The more Chen Mo thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
He picked up his phone and called Fang Chang.
"Good morning, President Chen. What are your instructions?"
At Cangxue Games, Fang Chang saw it was a call from President Chen and quickly answered.
"That game, Tianlong, hasn't had any new equipment updates for a long time, right?"
"Yes, President Chen. Since Tianlong has been in a state of loss, and after a few adjustments yielded no improvement, the previous boss gave up on updating equipment and items."
"Moreover, our current manpower is focused on developing new games. If we were to create a set of equipment for Tianlong, we would definitely have to pull away a portion of our staff."
"In that case, the progress of the new game's development would be significantly compromised."
Fang Chang explained patiently. The game was already losing money; if they continued to invest human resources into updating new equipment and items, it would only lead to further losses.
"That won't do. Without the release of new equipment and items, how can the game maintain its freshness? Over time, people will get bored and eventually choose to quit the game."
"How about this: you arrange for people to develop a new set of equipment as soon as possible. Crank up the equipment stats; it must be stronger than the previous gear."
"How soon can you get this done?"
Chen Mo persuaded him step-by-step, feeling even more delighted inside. Being able to develop new equipment to get revenge while also delaying the progress of the new game's development—it really was killing two birds with one stone!
"If we want to make it look refined, it will take at least half a month."
Fang Chang thought for a moment and said.
"The equipment doesn't need to be too fancy, just passable. The most important thing is the equipment's stats."
Chen Mo thought to himself; he just wanted to use the new equipment to get his revenge. As long as the stats were sufficient, things like appearance or color were completely unimportant.
Fang Chang was silent for a moment, not knowing what was on President Chen's mind, but he still answered truthfully.
"If we don't consider the appearance of the equipment, it would be much faster. It should be ready in about a week."
The most time-consuming part of making equipment was the modeling; if the requirements in this regard weren't high, it would save at least half the time.
"Then one week it is."
Upon hearing this, Chen Mo finally nodded in agreement.
He felt some emotion inside; if it weren't for his impatience to get revenge, and if he had spent more effort on the modeling of the new equipment, he might have lost even more money in this game.
Hanging up the phone, Chen Mo looked back at the gray computer screen. He had just respawned in place, but not long after, he was killed again.
Thinking for a moment, he sent a message and then logged out of the game.
"I have something to do. If you have the guts, let's have another match in seven days."
…
At Cangxue Games, after hanging up the phone, Fang Chang immediately called over the heads of each department.
One week to develop a new set of equipment—although the requirements for modeling weren't high, time was still tight.
Therefore, he gathered everyone as quickly as possible to assign duties.
"President Fang, what exactly is President Chen thinking? That Tianlong has been losing money the whole time; there's no need to develop new equipment for it."
"And once we divert manpower here to make new equipment, the speed of developing the new game will be greatly reduced."
The head of the design department asked, puzzled.
"I mentioned this to President Chen, but unfortunately, he didn't seem to take it seriously, so let's just follow the arrangements."
Fang Chang sighed.
After all, President Chen was the boss; he couldn't disobey orders.
Besides, President Chen was probably doing this to save the game Tianlong, so they might as well just do as he said.
…
Afternoon. Garment factory, office.
Chen Mo logged out of the game and leaned lazily back in his chair.
Knock, knock, knock!
The office door was suddenly knocked on.
"Come in!"
Chen Mo looked up and responded, seeing Wei Yan walk in with a smile on his face.
Seeing this expression on Wei Yan, Chen Mo's heart skipped a beat; could this traitor be stirring up trouble again?
"President Chen, there's good news!"
Wei Yan walked to the desk with a joyful expression and said mysteriously.
Looking at Wei Yan's appearance, Chen Mo felt increasingly uneasy.
"Hmm, what good news?"
"That new salesman, Wu Yu, has an order."
As expected!
Chen Mo sighed helplessly. There was really nothing he could do about orders; he couldn't just stop the salesmen from soliciting business for no reason.
"How big is the order!"
He only hoped the new order wouldn't be too large.
"It's just a small order of one hundred thousand, but it's a good start. There will definitely be bigger orders in the future."
Only one hundred thousand!
That's fine. If it's one hundred thousand, he could just mess around a little and spend it.
Upon hearing the amount Wei Yan stated, Chen Mo finally breathed a sigh of relief.
One hundred thousand yuan was acceptable.
However, Wei Yan spoke again shortly after.
"President Chen, the matter with Wu Yu is just a small thing; there is an even bigger piece of good news."
"What other bigger good news is there?"
Chen Mo's heart, which had just calmed down, tightened again. Looking at Wei Yan's expression, he felt that this "bigger good news" was definitely a major piece of bad news.
