Chapter 472: I Am Xu Xi, When You See These Words

Perhaps due to the Supreme's joyous new marriage.

The winter, which should have been cold and bleak, still retained some green vitality.

The branches and leaves swayed.

Snow drifted like willow catkins.

The wind whistled past, not as biting as before, carrying the drifting snow in a light, fluttering manner to land on the windowsill.

Xu Xi opened the bedroom window.

He gently wiped it with a finger.

A clear trail appeared on the windowsill.

"Although I'm married now, it doesn't feel very substantial."

"It always feels like a fantasy dream that could end at any moment."

Xu Xi looked at the snowy scene outside the window, his expression pensive. He knew this was not a fantasy dream, but a truly existing happiness.

Whoosh—

The wind howled, and a piece of paper flew into the room through the window opening.

Xu Xi caught it casually, pressing it against his palm with his thumb, and curiously examined the handwriting on it.

[I am Xu Xi]

[When you see these words, I have already met with misfortune]

[Run, run fast, me from a month ago!]

The Collection Cabinet in the room, its glass door refracting the sunlight from outside the window, bounced several times before slanting onto Xu Xi's face.

It was an expression of confusion, curiosity, and contemplation.

"This handwriting…"

"It is indeed mine."

Xu Xi flipped the paper. It was a simple, torn piece of white paper, seemingly hastily torn from a book and written on.

The handwriting on it was not the usual black.

It was deliberately written in blood red to indicate the importance of the matter.

The edges were uneven, faintly suggesting the urgency of the situation.

"So, what exactly happens a month later?" Xu Xi picked up a calendar and found that a month later was exactly New Year's Eve.

The first New Year after marriage.

What could possibly happen?

Curious, Xu Xi wanted to use his authority to peek into the future a month later.

But after a moment's thought, he gave up on the idea.

"Knowing some things in advance makes them less interesting," he said, closing the window against the cold wind once more.

Combined with past experiences,

it wasn't hard for Xu Xi to guess that the incident on this year's New Year's Eve would still involve the few girls.

"I hope the commotion won't be too big then."

"So as not to disturb others' New Year's Eve experience."

Turning the doorknob, Xu Xi left his room.

On the hallway leading to the living room, he saw many photos hanging on the wall. The frames were brand new, the overall look bright—they were the wedding photos taken not long ago.

There were many wedding photos.

Some showed two people standing side by side.

Others were group photos with five girls surrounding Xu Xi.

In short, those photos, like works of art with delicate colors and exquisite lighting, capturing every moment of happiness, had been hung in the hallway by the girls.

"Perhaps in ten or a hundred years, looking at these photos again will bring different feelings."

Xu Xi continued forward.

Planning to ask who wanted to go out with him after reaching the living room.

Passing by the kitchen, Xu Xi was drawn by the sounds inside. Machines hummed, and a faint, warm fragrance wafted in the air.

"Mentor?"

The witch looked up.

She wore thick gloves on her hands, quietly holding a tray of baked bread.

"Klisa, what are you…"

"I'm learning baking, Mentor."

The witch answered Xu Xi's question succinctly.

Sunlight passed through the window, scattering into a hazy morning glow, making the bread crust appear even more golden and crispy, the rising steam tracing its path.

"Mentor, could you please taste it?"

Klisa requested.

"Of course."

Receiving Xu Xi's affirmative answer, the witch had Xu Xi sit on a dining chair while she picked out the best-looking piece of bread.

Xu Xi took the bread.

Klisa then lay in Xu Xi's arms as if completing a task.

The movement was practiced, her expression calm.

"…Indeed, as delicious as expected," Xu Xi took a bite and gave high praise.

"Mentor, can you praise me more?"

The witch seemed somewhat unsatisfied.

Xu Xi had praised the bread, not her.

Looking at the girl in his arms, Xu Xi smiled and gently responded to her expectation.

"Klisa is very impressive."

"Mmm, I'm so impressive~"

"If it weren't for such an impressive Klisa, I wouldn't get to eat such delicious bread."

"Mhm mhm~ I really am impressive~"

Klisa buried her head in Xu Xi's chest.

Her eyebrows, eyes, ears, and the corners of her mouth all trembled slightly to varying degrees.

She loved Xu Xi's praise immensely, loved it beyond measure, loved the beloved one so close at hand, loved everything about him.

"Klisa, do you want to go out with me today?"

"Go out?"

"Yes, I plan to replace some furniture and expand a new master bedroom behind the Courtyard."

"I see, Mentor. I am willing to assist you."

The witch understood Xu Xi's intention.

A new marriage and a new year naturally call for a new atmosphere.

Although the furniture in the Courtyard showed no signs of wear, neither Xu Xi nor the five girls lacked money. What needed replacing would be replaced, what needed buying would be bought.

There was absolutely no need to economize.

Especially the master bedroom, which the witch considered a top priority.

"My room, Mentor's room, and the others' rooms don't need any changes; they can remain as everyone's personal space."

"We'll expand the master bedroom separately, as a private place for just me and Mentor as husband and wife. Hmm, we need a bed big enough."

Klisa's expression remained placid.

Her hands crossed in front of her lower abdomen, she followed Xu Xi outside, planning everything silently.

Whether intentional or not,

the other four did not appear in Klisa's future plans.

So—

they appeared on their own.

"Brother, is there something important today?" When Xu Xi reached the living room, Xu Moli happened to appear, chewing on some Maltose made earlier.

Xu Xi nodded: "The New Year is approaching. I plan to buy some new furniture and prepare decorations in advance."

"Ahem, then I'll go too."

The younger sister's joining was just the beginning.

Soon, the group following behind Xu Xi had grown to include all five Supremes.

They seemed to have communicated silently, the atmosphere quite harmonious, united and friendly, which made Xu Xi feel gratified.

Upon arriving at the furniture store,

the girls began picking and choosing.

"Sir, what do you think of this bed?"

Looking at the [behemoth] before him, Xu Xi couldn't help but hesitate: "Yingxue, isn't this a bit too big?"

"Oh, no, not at all!"

Utterly ridiculous.

Xu Xi shook his head, rejecting the Princess's enthusiastic suggestion.

But soon, the other girls also recommended similarly large beds, though none as exaggerated in size as the Princess's.

"This…"

About two hours later,

Xu Xi returned to the Courtyard with the five Supremes.

Facing the newly purchased furniture and that new bed capable of accommodating six or seven people, Xu Xi found himself at a loss for words, his thoughts tangled.

Recalling the "future warning" from the morning,

he vaguely understood something.

"But that doesn't seem right either. If it were just that kind of thing, there shouldn't be a need for a special reminder."

"Anyway, let's replace the furniture first, then expand the master bedroom."

"A month passes quickly. When New Year's Eve arrives, it will all become clear."
