Chapter 474: Who Is Luoluo? I Don’t Know Her!
The vermilion wooden door was quietly pushed open little by little outward by Lin Yue, and the light from outside slipped through the gap into the room, stretching out a narrow patch of light on the ground.
Lin Yue's heart was beating wildly, and as she pushed the door, various images flashed through her mind.
Today was a day of great celebration for the Qingyun Sect. What if there wasn't just Luoluo alone in this room, what if that fiancée surnamed Liu was also inside?
Lin Yue imagined it in her head: Ouyang Luoluo wearing a bright red wedding gown, that person surnamed Liu standing beside her, the two of them huddled together affectionately, perhaps even kissing.
And then if she just barged in like that, what kind of situation would that be? Catching them in the act? Or being a sucker delivering blessings to their doorstep? The three of them staring at each other with big eyes, unable to advance or retreat—that would be so awkward.
The more Lin Yue thought about it, the more her head ached, but her action of pushing the door didn't stop at all. Unknowingly, the door was pushed open to a width sufficient for her to enter.
In one go, Lin Yue turned sideways and squeezed through that narrow slit. As soon as she entered the room, she immediately grabbed the edge of the door panel with her backhand and gave it a hard pull. With a click, the door closed tightly.
Outside the door, having nothing to do, Li Ruoxue stood dazed in place. She looked like a dutiful guard, staring unblinkingly at Lin Yue's movements the whole time.
Not until she saw with her own eyes that Senior Sister Lin had completely entered the door did she finally feel at ease. Then, she casually sat down in a certain corner of the courtyard, cupping her cheeks with both hands, quietly waiting for the outcome inside the door.
…
After closing the door, Lin Yue turned around and swept her gaze across the interior of the room. After just one glance, she felt a chill run down her spine.
The room was empty, the light somewhat dim, and there was no figure to be seen. Lin Yue blinked hard, thinking her eyes were playing tricks on her and she was hallucinating. But no matter how much she blinked, it couldn't change the fact she was seeing.
What on earth was going on? Lin Yue's mind was full of question marks. If there was no one in this room, what on earth was Li Ruoxue muttering about while pressing against the crack of the door just now?
Was she chatting with the air? Or was that girl putting on an act talking to herself there? Was she deliberately putting on a show for her to see?
Lin Yue frowned. What exactly was Li Ruoxue's motive? Going through so much trouble to trick her into this empty room—what was she plotting? Could it be another trap, specially set for her?
The more Lin Yue thought about it, the more wrong it felt. She took a small step forward, raised her hand to pinch her chin, and crossed her left hand in front of her chest to support her right arm.
She narrowed her eyes, sweeping her gaze across every corner of the room, attempting to find the secret hidden behind it.
The room's layout was very familiar, still looking just like before. In the middle stood a mahogany round table, upon which sat a set of celadon tea ware.
The teacups were turned upside down in the tray with no signs of having been used. On the left was a carved large bed with gauze curtains hanging down on both sides, completely motionless. On the right was a dressing table, and the bronze mirror reflected Lin Yue's figure.
Everything was very normal, so normal that it felt eerie. Lin Yue walked over to the round table and lightly wiped the surface—there was no dust, clearly someone cleaned it every day.
She walked over to the dressing table again, picked up a box of rouge on it, opened the lid to take a look, and then put it back.
The fingers pinching Lin Yue's chin exerted a little force. What on earth was going on here?
Yet Lin Yue completely failed to notice that right in her blind spot, which was behind that tightly closed door, someone was actually hiding.
A young girl dressed in a light yellow dress with her hair tied up in a playful bun was none other than Ouyang Luoluo.
Her back was pressed against the wall, and her hands tightly grasped a long black cloth strip. Her chest rose and fell slightly, and her eyes were filled with excitement.
Watching Lin Yue's suspicious and paranoid appearance, watching her touch the table and the rouge box,
Ouyang Luoluo's mouth corners couldn't help but curl up, her expression smug. She bit her lower lip, desperately holding back her laughter, gripping the cloth strip tightly with both hands, ready to strike at any moment.
Lin Yue looked around the room for a long time, and making sure there was nothing, the anger in her heart gradually rose.
Good for you, Li Ruoxue. You've grown gutsy, actually daring to trick me and play me for a monkey, huh? Fine, wait till I go out and see how I deal with you.
Lin Yue originally wanted to go out and demand an explanation from Li Ruoxue. Just at the very moment she turned around, the unexpected struck.
Her vision suddenly went black as a rough cloth strap wrapped around from the back of her head, directly covering her eyes. Immediately afterwards, a huge pulling force came from the back of her head.
The cloth strap was pulled tight by someone, tied into a dead knot, and a warm body pressed against her back.
That person's arm wrapped around her neck, choking her tightly.
Lin Yue was startled. There was actually someone in this room? And they had been hiding right behind her all along!
She flailed her hands randomly in the air in a panic, trying to grab the person who ambushed her, but caught nothing.
Lin Yue asked tentatively,
"Who? Is that Luoluo?"
There was still no sound from behind, only the sound of slight breathing blowing against the back of her neck.
Lin Yue grew anxious, desperately trying to take off the cloth strap attached to her eyes.
But this thing seemed glued to her eyes; no matter how hard she exerted herself, she still couldn't take this gadget off. It was extremely stubborn.
Lin Yue's hands were sore and weak, and she was panting.
Just as she was single-mindedly trying to remove the cloth strap before her eyes, the person behind her leaned close to her ear and finally spoke smugly,
"Oh, who is Luoluo? I don't know her, sigh."
"I only know that someone apparently made a bet with me and lost."
The person behind Lin Yue seemed to be enjoying Lin Yue's awkward predicament. After a while, she slowly continued,
"If you lose, what are you supposed to do? Oh, I remember now, it seems to be acting as my little puppy."
The mysterious person said it with a completely straight face, but from her very first sentence, Lin Yue could be one hundred percent certain that the person who ambushed her from behind was Ouyang Luoluo.
