Chapter 480: Ambush!

Zhou Huai couldn't figure out the crux of the matter for a moment.

He simply stopped thinking about it.

If he couldn't figure it out, he would use his eyes to see.

He believed that as long as he followed closely enough, Kujo Koji's fox tail would show sooner or later.

Take it one step at a time.

Zhou Huai's consciousness sank into the shared network of the Information Bug, overlooking the earth like a deity.

He observed the advancing route of the Kujo Family motorcade and pulled up a detailed map of Sakura Country in his mind to compare.

After a moment, he opened his eyes again.

"Kazuya, drive."

He gave the command to the man in the driver's seat who had long been scared out of his wits.

"Destination, Karuizawa."

Kalen's brow furrowed deeper.

"Karuizawa?"

"What makes you judge that they are going there?"

"Didn't you say before that Lake Kawaguchi had the highest possibility?"

Zhou Huai did not explain; he just gave him a faint glance with those dignified eyes belonging to "Kujo Koji".

"Do as I say."

Kalen's heart skipped a beat from that look, and the subsequent doubts were forcefully swallowed back.

The black sedan finally started again.

It turned around in the empty wilderness and sped towards the heavy night in the distance.

Polina leaned against the soft backseat and asked the same question.

"Why Karuizawa?"

"This seems to have no logic to it at all?"

"Could it be that all four places are random?"

Compared to Kalen, Zhou Huai was much more patient with this beauty from the Great Bear Country.

Zhou Huai did not open his eyes, just speaking indifferently.

"I don't know the specific reason either."

"Anyway, Kujo Koji is on his way to Karuizawa."

"As long as we follow him closely, we won't be wrong."

Kalen wanted to say something more, but was stopped by a glance from Polina.

The black sedan sped across the wilderness, and the car fell into silence once more.

Time passed minute by minute.

Half an hour later.

Zhou Huai, who had been resting his eyes with them closed, suddenly let out a soft exclamation.

"Hmm?"

Polina immediately straightened her posture, her nerves tensing up.

"What's wrong?"

Zhou Huai slowly opened his eyes, his pupils filled with solemnity.

"Kujo Koji's motorcade is gone."

"Gone?"

Kalen's volume instantly spiked, and he questioningly demanded with emotional agitation.

"You lost track of them?!"

Zhou Huai ignored his questioning.

His consciousness, through the perspective of a miniature Information Bug, was hovering above a dense forest.

Just moments ago, he watched with his own eyes as Kujo Koji's mighty dragon composed of hundreds of cars drove into this forest.

Then, like a drop of water merging into the sea.

The entire motorcade disappeared silently into the thick night.

Without a trace.

"Is it an illusion array?"

Zhou Huai said to himself.

Immediately afterwards, he shook his head, a trace of realization flashing in his eyes.

No.

This feeling, this technique…

It was Soma Kosuke who made a move!

At the same time.

The Kujo Family motorcade driving across the wilderness did not notice the slightest abnormality.

In the center of the motorcade, inside that luxurious customized vehicle.

The driving chauffeur suddenly spoke in puzzlement.

"Strange."

"Why does it feel like the sky is getting darker and darker?"

He subconsciously raised his hand to adjust the headlights' brightness to maximum.

But the beam of light shot out by the headlights seemed swallowed by an invisible darkness, only able to illuminate a distance of less than three meters in front of the car.

Any further forward was pitch black where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.

"The cars in front can't be seen either."

A wave of chills ran through the driver's heart.

"What the Hell."

In the backseat, Kujo Koji, who had been resting his eyes with them closed, slowly opened his eyes upon hearing this.

Glancing at the darkness outside the window that was so thick it couldn't be melted away, there was not the slightest surprise on his face; instead, a faint smile curled up.

"That old fellow Soma Kosuke really can't hold his breath."

"Choosing to make a move so quickly."

Hearing this, Akiyama beside him changed expression drastically, becoming instantly alert.

"Stop the car!"

He gave a short and powerful command to the driver.

The driver immediately slammed on the brakes, steadily stopping the car.

"Bang!"

Akiyama pushed open the car door and stepped out quickly.

When he saw the scene around him clearly, his pupils suddenly shrank.

All around was a vast expanse of pitch black.

It was as if the whole world had been splashed with the thickest ink, unable to distinguish heaven from earth, unable to discern direction.

That huge motorcade, which was mighty and endless just a moment ago, had somehow left only their lonely car.

Quietly parked in this boundless darkness.

Not far away, the metallic twisting sound of violent vehicle collisions and the shrill screams of humans before death faintly came over.

The sounds of fighting, shouting, and explosions mixed together, like a symphony from Hell.

Akiyama knitted his brows tightly, grasping the hilt of the Katana at his waist.

"What is this situation?"

Inside the car, Kujo Koji leisurely adjusted his collar.

"We have probably entered Soma Kosuke's World Within the Painting."

"World Within the Painting?"

A trace of astonishment flashed across Akiyama's face.

Before his voice fell.

Twisted black shadows silently darted out from the surrounding pitch black.

Their target was clear, pointing directly at the vehicle where Kujo Koji was located!

"Courting death!"

Akiyama reacted extremely quickly, shouting fiercely from his mouth.

He abruptly pulled out the Katana at his waist and rushed towards those black shadows.

"Boom!"

Crimson flames erupted roaringly from his blade.

The raging flames instantly illuminated this dark corner.

Under the reflection of the fire, the appearance of those black shadows finally became clear.

They all wore uniform white fox masks and pitch-black night garments; they were precisely the most elite death squad of the Omiya Family — the Moshadui!

"Kill!"

More and more Moshadui death squad members poured out from the darkness like a tide, hurling themselves fearlessly at Akiyama.

The lights of various weird skills intertwined in the darkness into a fatal giant net.

Akiyama had already suffered severe injuries while pursuing Caesar today, and at this moment he couldn't display his usual full strength at all.

Facing enemies several times his number, the flames he unleashed were shattered again and again, and the wounds on his body grew more and more numerous.

He was beaten back step by step, and the situation became increasingly critical.

Compared to the fierce slaughter outside, Kujo Koji, who had been sitting securely inside the car, appeared much calmer and more composed.

He even had the leisure to pour himself a glass of red wine.

Right at this moment.

A Moshadui death squad member caught a flaw of Akiyama, his figure passing through the flame blockade he laid down like a ghost.

The poison-quenched short blade in that death squad member's hand flashed with a dim green cold light, stabbing directly at Kujo Koji in the back seat of the car!

Akiyama's expression changed drastically; he wanted to fall back to defend, but it was already too late.

At the critical moment!

A brilliant flash of blade light, like lightning tearing through the night sky, descended from the sky without warning!

"Swish!"

The body of that death squad member who was about to succeed suddenly stiffened.

The next second, his body split neatly from the midline, turning into two halves, with blood and internal organs spilling all over the ground.

This blade light did not stop there.

Like a hot knife cutting into butter, it swept across effortlessly.

Dozens of swarming Moshadui death squad members around couldn't even manage a single scream before being instantly slashed into a sky full of blood mist by the blade light!

Akiyama looked on in shock and fixed his eyes.

Only to see that at some unknown time.

A tall and upright figure had already quietly stood atop the car roof like a mountain.

It was precisely Wada Hirayama!
