Chapter 5

It wasn't just No. 1 High School students coming to the beginner Dungeon; almost every student in Xihai City who had completed their class advancement would come here.

There were six high schools in Xihai City, and over 800 students had completed their class advancement yesterday.

The majority of them had become non-combat Professionals.

Fewer than 200 people were able to come here—not even one-third of the total.

The students stood together while the school teachers went to handle the entry procedures for the Dungeon.

"Old Lu, you've really hit the jackpot this time."

"Having one rare combat class wasn't enough; now you've got a unique hidden class too. You've really struck it rich."

"Your school has been amazing these past two years. Last year, you produced Lin Mohan, who got into Xiajing Academy. Are you planning to knock on the gates of Xiajing Academy again today?"

Several principals gathered together, chatting heatedly.

Principal Lu Yun was beaming with pride. "Xia Xue and Lin Moyu are truly excellent. If they have the chance, I really hope they can get admitted into Xiajing Academy."

"Xia Xue? Is that the eldest daughter of the Xia family?"

"And this Lin Moyu, why does his name sound so similar to Lin Mohan's?"

Principal Lu Yun replied, "Xia Xue is indeed the eldest daughter of the Xia family, and Lin Moyu is Lin Mohan's younger brother."

"No wonder. The Xia family's bloodline inheritance is quite impressive. As for Lin Moyu, those two siblings are truly formidable."

Gao Yang nudged Lin Moyu. "Want to form a party together?"

Faced with Gao Yang's invitation, Lin Moyu shook his head.

Gao Yang feigned anger. "You brat, are you looking down on me?"

"This young master is inviting you with all sincerity. If you don't give me a reasonable explanation, I definitely won't let this go."

He looked like he was angry, but the trace of a smile in his eyes betrayed him.

Lin Moyu ignored him. Sure enough, not two seconds later, Gao Yang changed his tune.

"Boss, why exactly won't you team up with me?"

Lin Moyu said indifferently, "Leveling in a party is slow; solo grinding is fast."

Gao Yang asked curiously, "How do you know that?"

"Read more books." Lin Moyu replied, which was rare for him.

Gao Yang rubbed his head, clearly not quite believing it.

Just then, Xia Xue suddenly interjected from the side, "Lin Moyu is right. If two people form a party, although killing monsters is faster, the experience points have to be split between the two."

"A two-person party can increase monster-killing speed by at most 50% to 60%, but the time spent searching for monsters is fixed, so the overall efficiency decreases."

"According to the experience summarized by our predecessors, Dungeons below level 10 are suitable for soloing. Only Dungeons level 10 and above are suitable for parties."

Xia Xue explained it very clearly, and Gao Yang wasn't stupid; after thinking about it, he understood.

At this moment, Principal Lu Yun walked over.

"Except for Xia Xue and Lin Moyu, all combat class Professionals must bring a few Support Professionals to form a party before entering the Dungeon."

"Don't think about leveling solo. You should know that in the future, when you go to high-difficulty Dungeons, you won't be able to do without Support."

"There's no such thing as refusing to bring Support normally, then looking for them only when you need them."

"To be blunt, rather than finding strangers as Support, it's better to find your own classmates. At least you have camaraderie, and in times of danger, you won't run off alone."

Principal Lu Yun made his point very clear, and the reality was indeed just as he said.

This calmed down those who had originally been considering soloing.

If combat class Professionals didn't bring Support, the Support's leveling speed would be extremely slow.

Someone asked, "Why don't Xia Xue and Lin Moyu need to bring Support?"

Principal Lu Yun cleared his throat. "Those two are different. Xia Xue is planning to take the entrance exam for Xiajing Academy and needs to level up quickly."

Furthermore, Xia Xue won't stay in the beginner Dungeon for too long; she will leave here in two days at most.

"As for Lin Moyu, I don't understand his class, nor do I know his combat power. You can ask the Support if they are willing to form a party with him."

Chapter 7: Let's Compete and See Who Levels Up Faster

Several Support students shook their heads one after another.

The majority of those who became Healer Support classes were girls.

These young girls were terrified when they saw Lin Moyu's Skeleton Warrior; there was no way they would form a party with him.

Lin Moyu said indifferently, "Principal Lu Yun, I also intend to take the exam for Xiajing Academy."

The implication was very clear: I don't want to form a party; I want to solo.

Principal Lu Yun looked slightly surprised. "Do you know how hard it is to get into Xiajing Academy?"

Lin Moyu nodded. "I have confidence."

Principal Lu Yun understood Lin Moyu's determination. "I hope you succeed."

To get into Xiajing Academy, the first requirement is the level.

You need to be at least level 12, or level 15 to be safe.

Last year, Lin Mohan was admitted to Xiajing Academy with a level of 16.

In just one short week, wanting to reach level 12 is not easy.

As for level 15, it is even more unimaginably difficult.

The highest-level monster in the beginner Dungeon is only level 8, so it's impossible to reach level 12 there.

Moreover, the danger level in the wild is far higher than in the beginner Dungeon; for novice Professionals like them, going there rashly is just courting death.

Besides the level requirement, there are some other conditions.

The specifics will only be known when the major exam arrives.

Under Principal Lu Yun's requirement, the combat class students all chose their Support partners.

They formed teams of two or three.

Gao Yang chose a Prophet Support.

A Prophet can add some buff states to him and can also provide appropriate healing, so it counts as a pretty good Healer.

After the procedures were completed, the school distributed weapons and equipment to everyone.

Warriors were assigned different weapons based on their different classes.

"Am I cool or what!"

Gao Yang received an iron sword and a shield, standing there with an attitude of 'I'm the best in the world.'

Lin Moyu also received a staff.

[Staff]

[Spirit +1]

It was a piece of equipment without any real bonuses, not even ranked.

Having it or not having it was the same; it could only be used for show.

Xia Xue had her own weapon, so she didn't take the school's.

Her weapon was a grimoire. Lin Moyu could feel a not-insignificant amount of energy circulating within the grimoire; it must be a pretty good weapon.

Before entering the Dungeon, Xia Xue said to Lin Moyu, "Let's compete and see who levels up faster."

Lin Moyu was noncommittal, neither agreeing nor refusing.

Xia Xue gave a coquettish snort, lifting her head to reveal her slender, fair neck. "If you don't answer, I'll take that as a yes."

Saying this, she turned and entered the Dungeon.

The corners of Lin Moyu's mouth twitched slightly. "So competitive."

He muttered to himself and followed her into the Dungeon.

The environment of the beginner Dungeon was a vast grassland with lush grass over half a meter tall.

Many smaller-sized monsters were hidden in the grass, making them hard to spot.

The monster density here was low and it was quite safe, which led to a problem: the time spent searching for monsters was longer than the time spent fighting them.

The purpose of the beginner Dungeon was to let novices get used to combat and adapt to fighting.

Lin Moyu released four Skeleton Warriors.

"Go find monsters and kill them."

With a thought, the four Skeleton Warriors were already running off in four different directions.

Click, clack.

As they ran, they brought with them gusts of eerie wind.

"So fast!"

With an agility attribute as high as 150, the Skeleton Warriors' running speed was extremely fast.

In the blink of an eye, they had already run dozens of meters away.

At this moment, one Skeleton Warrior raised the broken sword in its hand.

[Successfully killed Big-Eared Rabbit, EXP +10]

The level 1 Big-Eared Rabbit was instantly killed by the Skeleton Warrior.

Lin Moyu checked his EXP.

His EXP increased by 1%.

Each level 1 monster could increase his EXP by 1%; killing 100 would allow him to level up.

[Successfully killed Big-Eared Rabbit, EXP +10]

[Successfully killed Big-Eared Rabbit, EXP +10]

Notifications appeared continuously as the four Skeleton Warriors kept finding Big-Eared Rabbits and killing them.

In just a few minutes, Lin Moyu's EXP had already increased by 10%.

This efficiency was too high.

Lin Moyu had originally planned to stay in the beginner Dungeon for two days and leave after his level increased to 8.

Now it seemed he wouldn't need two days after all.

Lin Moyu cast a skill, summoning another Black Iron-grade Skeleton Warrior.

Then, this Skeleton Warrior joined the team searching for monsters.

Lin Moyu sat down and began to meditate.

Half an hour later, Lin Moyu welcomed his first level up.
