Chapter 53: Reversing the Past (Part 7)

Lin Fan's gaze gradually turned cold and ruthless. "Brother?", he thought, his eyes devoid of even a sliver of sympathy or leniency.

Void Power condensed once more. As he lightly raised his hand, Lin Yue's body was instantly suppressed by an immense force, rendering his limbs immobile and leaving him utterly powerless.

"For the sake of profit, you betrayed me, even willing to personally send me to my doom. Now you tell me that you 'are my brother'? Truly laughable."

"Lin Fan… do you really have to kill me? I had no choice… I truly am… I was truly forced, while you have a choice! … You can choose!"

"Do you think saying these things will make me soften my heart?"

"I really was forced! You don't understand… I had absolutely no choice, none at all!"

Lin Fan watched him coldly. Void Power shackled his limbs like ice, and Lin Yue, unable to move, was filled with pain and despair in his eyes.

His bones felt as if they were being crushed, his entire body feeling as though it were being ground down by an invisible mountain.

"You think I don't understand?" Lin Fan's gaze was filled with cold mockery.

"Do you know how many times I was forced to choose between life and death? Do you know how many times I was stuck with that bullshit Protagonist Behavior Manual? Do you think I don't understand what 'no choice' means? I chose to be tortured to death for 99 lifetimes just to remain myself—that is who I am."

Lin Fan stepped closer, the cold light in his eyes seemingly ready to devour Lin Yue whole.

"I have returned, carrying the memories of a hundred lifetimes, and the power sufficient to destroy everything. The power to end it all."

Lin Yue's body was already pinned, unable to move by the Void Power; his blood had almost stopped flowing, and his face was deathly pale.

Suddenly, a glimmer of light flashed in his eyes. Perhaps Lin Fan could change all of this.

Just as he thought this, a warning sound from the System rang in Lin Yue's ears: "Warning, your thinking has encountered a logical error. Please stop immediately."

Lin Yue shook his head. "Fuck you. Logical error!"

"Lin Fan, Father is, imprisoned…" As soon as the words left his lips, blood bubbled out from Lin Yue's mouth.

"Imprisoned on… Watchtower… Island…" Lin Yue struggled to spit out these words. When he finished the last word, his eyes had already gone vacant, and blood sprayed from the corners of his mouth, staining his face red.

His eyes suddenly widened, as if he had seen something truly terrifying, and he just lay there quietly, devoid of any life.

Lin Fan stood quietly beside Lin Yue's corpse, silent for a moment.

As the name "Watchtower Island" echoed in his mind, a deep, cold light flashed in his eyes.

Lin Fan turned and said to Karl, "Let's go!"

At that moment, the female police officer behind him called out to Lin Fan, "Brother Fan, you are Lin Yue's younger brother. Now that we have no one to rely on, could you take us in?"

Lin Fan looked at the two pretty female officers. "Sorry, I have no interest in damaged goods."

The female officer slumped to the ground. Seeing Lin Fan about to leave, she scrambled over like someone grabbing at a straw to save her life and clung to his leg, crying out, "Please, our identities have been exposed. We won't even be able to work as hostesses anymore. The only thing waiting for us is execution."

Lin Fan said indifferently, "Karl, if you fancy these two, take them. If not, let them fend for themselves."

Karl looked at the two beautiful policewomen; both their figures and appearances were quite impressive, so he simply hoisted them onto his shoulders.

With his toned muscles carrying the two policewomen, the scene was incredibly explosive.

In the private area on the third floor of Star-Moon Manor, it was quiet and luxurious. Ripples gently lapped in the hot spring, emitting a faint fragrance.

Lin Fan leaned against the cushion by the hot spring, his eyes half-closed, enjoying the soft lighting and the warm water.

His fingers lightly tapped the holographic projection controller beside him, and a video clip flashed on the screen.

In the video, during the early hours of the morning, two figures broke into the police station.

Lin Fan and Karl walked side by side, the atmosphere tense, justice and darkness intertwined.

Subsequently, Karl's figure appeared alone, dragging the two trembling female officers in his hands. His physique was formidable, appearing as imposing as a wild beast.

The voiceover in the video narrated: "In the early hours of today, a young man and our heroic Karl broke into the police station and wiped out the dark forces within in one fell swoop. The kind-hearted hero Karl has taken the two hostesses away. We believe that by following our hero Karl, they will surely turn over a new leaf."

Lin Fan's lips curled slightly as he watched the images on the projection, his eyes revealing a hint of cold satisfaction.

"Not bad," he whispered to himself. "Everything is proceeding according to plan."

The image on the screen switched to a news broadcast segment. A reporter stood outside the police station, with the processed chaotic scene faintly visible in the background.

The news report mentioned: "In the early hours of today, a mysterious young man joined forces with the hero Karl to successfully clear out the dark forces within the police station. Hero Karl, brave and fearless, took away two female officers suspected of colluding with dark forces, demonstrating extraordinary courage and justice."

Lin Fan's lips curved slightly, carrying a trace of mocking amusement.

"What an interesting script."

He stood up and walked toward the window, looking out at the starry sky in the distance.

In the night sky, the starlight twinkled, quiet and profound.

"Watchtower Island…"

Just as Lin Fan was lost in thought, a warm presence quietly approached.

He did not turn around, sensing that familiar presence. He knew the person who had come was Yin Miaoxue.

Yin Miaoxue was wearing a white, thin gauze nightgown, the fabric as soft as mist, clinging almost to her body.

Her waist was slender, her curves well-defined, and her slightly curved posture exuded a charming sexiness.

Her long hair was draped casually over her shoulders, like a light veil under the moonlight, and the soft light shone through the thin gauze, outlining her flawless skin.

She pressed gently against Lin Fan's back and said softly, "Young Master, are you still troubled by the matter of Watchtower Island?"

Lin Fan sighed. "I have already checked a lot of information, but I haven't found any clues about Watchtower Island. I'm afraid this isn't a place in reality at all."

Yin Miaoxue's brows arched slightly, a glint of wisdom flashing in her eyes.

"Young Master, why don't you try to unlock the tampered content on that old computer? Perhaps you might learn something."

Hearing this, Lin Fan slapped his forehead, a flash of inspiration crossing his eyes.

"That's right! I was negligent before. That computer came from Watchtower Island; perhaps I can find some clues about Watchtower Island there."

Yin Miaoxue smiled slightly, pushed him gently away, and walked toward the table nearby.

That old laptop was resting quietly on the tabletop.

Although the Repair Master had reinforced the connection between the screen and the motherboard, it still flickered non-stop, and the displayed content remained blurry.

"Young Master, I have always felt that this computer hides an unknown secret. The traces of it being deliberately tampered with should be more than just some simple blocking and encryption."

Lin Fan took a deep breath, walked to the table, and lightly touched the keyboard with his fingertips.

He began to quickly input a series of complex commands, attempting to unlock the chains within.

Yin Miaoxue stood behind him, gently wrapping around his form, looking sideways at his focused expression. Her gaze was like water, calm yet not lacking in tenderness.

The screen suddenly flickered, and immediately, the System prompt sounded: "Password incorrect."

Lin Fan's brows furrowed slightly, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes.

This was the password set by the Repair Master; this maneuver was truly scummy.
