Chapter 531: Coming to Settle Accounts 8

"Daughter dares not." Su Luo stood straight, a faint, ambiguous smile curving the corners of her lips. Her clear, black-and-white eyes remained motionless as she watched Su Zian with a smile.

Although her mouth claimed she dared not, her posture remained haughty, without the slightest sign of yielding.

Su Zian was furious inside, but his reason told him that while his anger might work on others, it was completely useless against the Stinky Girl before him.

Taking a few deep breaths, Su Zian suppressed his emotions, which were on the verge of erupting.

"Enough, let this matter end here." Su Zian impatiently interrupted Su Luo, frowning as he asked, "What is going on with that Little Puppy?"

Su Luo understood clearly in her heart, a mocking curve appearing on her lips.

The main point had arrived.

So, this was Su Zian's objective.

He had first scolded her, placing the blame on her head, and then followed up with a request, making it difficult for her to refuse.

What good scheming, what good tactics. If she were a girl who had never seen the world, wouldn't she be left dizzy by this display of Su Zian's methods?

It was just a pity that no matter how good his methods were, they were useless against someone as unyielding as herself.

Su Luo smiled faintly: "Little Puppy? Oh, does Father mean Daughter's spirit pet?"

"Hmm, where did you get it?" Su Zian kept a straight face, frowning, appearing casual and indifferent.

Su Luo felt amused inwardly. If he were truly indifferent, why would he have laid such extensive groundwork?

"It is just a Little Puppy, picked up casually on the road." Su Luo smiled very casually.

Su Zian's expression darkened; he could no longer keep up the pretense.

He flicked his sleeve and raged: "Nonsense! How could such a spirit pet be picked up casually on the road? You dare lie to your father? Su Luo, you have quite the audacity!"

If he cared, he should just admit it. Why insist on pretending to be indifferent? Look, now his true colors were revealed.

Su Luo's expression did not change; she remained as calm as the wind, coolly countering: "Since Father does not believe Daughter's words, why bother asking?"

Su Zian was immediately choked with anger, impatiently waving his hand: "Enough, hand over that Little Thing for Father to see."

"What is the meaning of this, Father?" Su Luo stared at him, her clear, black-and-white eyes deep and bottomless, reflecting Su Zian's impatient and greedy appearance.

"You are young and understand nothing; how could you raise it properly? Such a precious thing should be kept by Father for you." Su Zian said with feigned seriousness.

Raise it for her? Su Luo sneered repeatedly in her heart.

If there hadn't been such obvious greed in his eyes, and if he hadn't been so self-righteously forcing her to hand it over, perhaps Su Luo might have kindly let him take a look at the Little Divine Dragon. But now…

Su Luo stared fixedly at Su Zian with cold eyes: "How can Father not know that if the contract is forcibly broken, the master will be in danger of losing their life, and the spirit pet will revert to its initial state?"

Su Zian's face immediately turned ashen.

How could he not understand what Su Luo meant by these words?

His fists loosened, then clenched again.

Su Luo looked at him, smiling ambiguously: "Father is forcing Daughter to hand over the spirit pet; is it because you have taken a fancy to it?"

Having his thoughts exposed, Su Zian's face flushed red. He forced himself to remain calm, maintaining an air of authority, and slammed his hand onto the table with a bang, roaring angrily: "Stinky Girl, you are spouting nonsense! How could I be greedy for your Little Spirit Pets! It is simply absurd!"

Su Luo's gaze was light and shallow, and she smiled faintly: "If that is the case, then thank you, Father, for giving up on it. If there is nothing else, Daughter will take her leave."
