Chapter 57: The Witch’s Body No Longer Changes
Overlapping.
Intertwining.
Mixing.
Under Xu Xi's watchful eye, Klisa successfully woke up, breaking free from the state of Chaos that had caused her frequent bouts of unconsciousness.
But it didn't end there.
As soon as the magic circle was removed and the effects of the spirit clearing grass wore off, the clash between order and disorder would still plunge Klisa back into a coma.
The problem had to be solved quickly while there was still time.
"Klisa, follow your instincts. Relax your mind and guide them."
"If anything feels wrong, tell me immediately."
Xu Xi instructed from the side.
He stayed close, just in case.
"Yes, Mentor," the Witch replied obediently. Her face was still pale, lacking its usual healthy glow, and filled with a kind of fragile beauty.
She guided her Mental Energy to calm the Bloodline within her body.
Using her will, she created a buffer zone between the two.
Allowing fire and water to coexist.
Allowing gods and demons to achieve Fusion.
Allowing her mind and body to coordinate perfectly.
With Xu Xi's help and the ideas provided by Mortals Wisdom, Klisa stumbled her way through guiding the two powers to intertwine within her.
Finally, balance was born.
Xu Xi clearly saw the Witch's black and gold eyes slowly calming down, no longer as terrifyingly vibrant as before.
Black was the core, and gold was the ring.
The pitch-black part was like a sea of stars, shimmering with faint light and hiding infinite unknowns and mysteries.
The indifferent yet brilliant golden part held an indescribable nobility; it was the ring that bound the stars, firmly locking away the dark star sea.
The only jarring thing was…
Right in the center of her calm eyes, there was a microscopic gap, preventing the black and gold colors from fully merging. It seemed something was still missing.
But this did not hinder the Witch's sublimation and transformation.
Her hollow gaze, devoid of emotion.
Her calm expression, showing neither joy nor sorrow.
It was a scene he was more than familiar with, yet seeing it now gave him a completely different feeling, reminding Xu Xi of the God of Light he had once seen.
"Divinity…?"
"No, it's even beyond that."
Xu Xi couldn't help but marvel. A Witch who possessed both the physical and the spiritual, perfectly balancing disorder and order, was destined to achieve heights that surpassed the gods.
But before that…
She still needed a long time to develop.
When the time came, this miracle that surpassed the gods would shock the entire world.
"Mentor…"
"Am… Am I okay now?"
Her calm voice was filled with confusion and hesitation.
Klisa sat on the magic stone slab, looking at her hands and then at Xu Xi's face, her eyes full of helplessness.
Even though she had become a miracle surpassing the gods and achieved an unprecedented feat, the Witch's first instinct in any situation was still to look toward the person she trusted most.
Her eyes, like a clear mirror, reflected Xu Xi's figure.
"Yes, you're fine now, Klisa."
Xu Xi soothed her.
He gently took the Witch's cold hand.
Using his own hand to pass her some warmth.
"You've worked hard, Klisa. It must have been miserable staying here all this time. Now, we can go home together." Xu Xi lowered his voice, tenderly leading the Witch by the hand out of the Meditation Room.
In Xu Xi's heart, the Meditation Room wasn't home; it was just a place for Cultivation and emergencies.
He wanted to bring Klisa back into the sunlight.
So that the suffering Klisa could enjoy warmth and food.
"I…"
The girl seemed to want to say something, but in the end, she said nothing.
She simply tightened her grip on Xu Xi's large hand in silence, following closely behind and walking within his shadow.
"Wherever you are, that is my home."
These were the words the Witch kept hidden in her heart, unspoken.
…
After leaving the Meditation Room, Xu Xi cooked personally, preparing a sumptuous feast for the now fully conscious Klisa.
The girl originally didn't have much of an appetite.
However, Xu Xi's food was exceptionally tempting.
Consequently, she accidentally ended up eating a full two-thirds of the meal.
This was far beyond her usual intake.
Klisa was utterly bewildered.
She didn't understand why her appetite had suddenly become so enormous.
Xu Xi observed all this: "It seems Klisa's Demon Race Bloodline is taking effect. As her body evolves and transforms, it naturally requires more replenishment."
Thinking this, Xu Xi smiled and comforted Klisa, telling her not to worry about it.
The Fusion of demon and god was a path no one had ever trodden before.
Physical changes were only the first step.
In the time to come…
Klisa would likely display even more incredible, even cognition-defying, peculiarities.
…
[You successfully saved the Witch and created a miracle that transcends all.]
[Balancing order, balancing Chaos, and even balancing the world.]
[You cannot imagine what kind of storms the Witch will stir up in this world once she grows up; perhaps she will become the one who stands above all.]
[You envision such a future and smile as you prepare a grand meal for the Witch. She chews rapidly, stuffing herself until she is full.]
[The next day, you conduct an examination of the now-recovered Witch.]
[You are surprised to find that the Witch's already extraordinary magic talent has received a terrifying boost, no less than Mortals Wisdom, perhaps even more exaggerated.]
[Not only that, the Witch's frail body continues to grow stronger. Although her appearance remains unchanged, her inner self has transcended humanity. From now on, you no longer need to worry about her catching a cold or fever.]
[You are very happy and gratified.]
[You have always worried about Klisa's safety, feeling that her strength was not yet enough to protect herself.]
[But the Witch's new changes allow you to set your mind completely at ease.]
[With a relaxed and joyful mindset, you live together with Klisa in Wage City. You are full of hope for the future, feeling that you and the Witch can remain in seclusion in Wage City for a long time until you possess even greater strength.]
[Two years later, an incident involving the Witch causes a small ripple in your peaceful life.]
Simulation Year 13.
Xu Xi is 27, and Klisa is 19.
The passage of time inevitably leaves its marks on the body.
Even though Xu Xi possessed Life Magic and his body was filled with vibrant vitality, his face, his body, and his limbs still showed some of the weathering and maturity brought by the years.
This was only natural.
And normal.
But Klisa was different. The now nineteen-year-old Witch still maintained the seventeen-year-old appearance she had two years ago.
Although her figure had become slightly fuller due to nutritional supplements and physical exercise, there was no doubt that Klisa's body had stopped growing.
It remained forever at seventeen.
"Longevity?"
"Or perhaps… immortality?"
In the courtyard of Wage City, Xu Xi, dressed in loose mage robes, looked at the flowers withering in the wind not far away. He felt sentimental but wasn't overly surprised.
After all, even before, Klisa's lifespan far exceeded his own.
Now…
It was merely taking a gap of hundreds or thousands of years…
…and stretching it into an eternal infinity.
To a Mortal, it was equally unattainable.
