Chapter 60: Spirit Snatching (Part 5)
After finishing, Lin Chen anxiously stood up, "Sister, let's go find Bai Youyou!"
She dragged her wobbly body forward, every step exhausting all her strength.
"Lin Chen, stop right there! You can barely walk, yet you're still worrying about your Incarnation."
Sect Master Qi Meng scooped Lin Chen up in a bridal carry and placed her back on the bed. "Rest well! The power of the Spirit Fruit needs time to be absorbed!"
When the sun set and the horizon was draped in gorgeous sunset clouds, Lin Chen finally felt her strength return.
She excitedly jumped off the bed, twirling lightly on the floor, her face overflowing with joy.
"Sister, look, I'm fine! Let's go, let's go see Bai Youyou."
"Alright, I'll take you to find her, but she has a strange temper, so don't speak out of turn when you see her." Sect Master Qi Meng frowned slightly, reminding her.
"Mm, I know."
Meanwhile, on the other side, Lin Fan was dragging his trembling body, slowly performing Tai Chi; although his movements were slow, they exuded a quiet beauty.
Watching him, Cuier was dumbfounded and exclaimed repeatedly, "I never would have thought, old man, you actually have this skill!"
"Cuier, can you take me to see your Sect Master's Personal Disciple? I would very much like to see her true appearance."
Lin Fan raised his head; although his face looked aged, his eyes flashed with a demonic light.
"Mm! Under normal circumstances, men simply cannot enter, but since you have already come in, then naturally you must see her."
Cuier nodded and said enthusiastically.
Under Cuier's guidance, Lin Fan walked toward Qimeng Courtyard.
Just as they arrived at the courtyard, they saw Lin Chen dragging her sister, Sect Master Qi Meng, walking out together.
Sect Master Qi Meng suddenly called out: "Lin Chen, you're going the wrong way! To find Bai Youyou, you must go this way."
Watching the graceful and lively Lin Chen, a wave of relief surged in Lin Fan's heart, "It's good that she's alright!"
"Senior Sister Lin Chen!" Cuier waved sweetly at Lin Chen.
Hearing this, Lin Chen turned around, her face still wearing an elegant and charming smile, "Junior Sister Cuier, why are you here?"
Cuier pointed to Lin Fan beside her, "I brought this old gentleman here to see you; he is your fan, you know."
Lin Chen turned slightly to the side and bowed respectfully, "Old gentleman, thank you." Her voice was gentle and kind.
"It's nothing, it's nothing." Lin Fan smiled faintly, feeling secretly smug.
Lin Chen turned to Cuier, her expression serious, "Cuier, do you not have anything else to do? I am in a rush to see Bai Youyou; she must know Lin Fan's whereabouts."
Cuier was stunned, thinking to herself, *Could it be that the one who summoned Lin Fan wasn't Senior Sister Lin Chen's spiritual Incarnation?*
Can a spiritual Incarnation even go missing? Cuier was momentarily dazed.
At this moment, Sect Master Qi Meng, behind Lin Chen, quietly pointed at Lin Chen's head and waved her hands repeatedly, signaling for Cuier to understand.
"Oh~… Then Senior Sister Lin Chen, go ahead and be busy! I have nothing else." Cuier said hurriedly.
Lin Chen grabbed Sect Master Qi Meng's hand, "Let's go! Let's go find Bai Youyou!"
The elderly Lin Fan watched Lin Chen's retreating figure, a wave of warmth in his heart, and he did not intend to tell her that he was Lin Fan.
After all, he didn't have many years left to live; he would leave this headache of a problem for Bai Youyou to deal with.
A relieved smile appeared on his face, and he said softly: "Cuier, thank you for letting me see Lin Chen. Escort me out of the Sect."
"Alright, I will escort you out of the Sect. However, you must be careful next time; don't come up the mountain alone again. It's not safe on the mountain."
Cuier led Lin Fan in the direction of the Sect gate.
The two walked slowly in the afterglow of the sunset; Lin Fan occasionally stopped and looked back at Qimeng Courtyard, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
This was where he had given everything for Lin Chen, and also the place he still couldn't bear to leave even after losing his power.
"Old gentleman, why do you keep looking back?" Cuier asked curiously.
"I just wanted to see which way the road ahead should go." Lin Fan replied, his voice low and firm.
Cuier did not ask again, just silently accompanying him until they walked out of the Sect's gate.
Lin Chen and Sect Master Qi Meng arrived at a quiet courtyard, where flowers and plants flourished all around, filled with a faint fragrance.
Sect Master Qi Meng whispered a reminder: "Don't speak in a moment; let me do the talking." She knocked on the door gently, and it opened automatically, making a slight creaking sound.
The courtyard was elegantly decorated; several ink paintings hung on the white walls, and it was planted with various flowers, appearing quiet and fresh.
Bai Youyou was lying in a quiet room, and the sunlight streaming through the window draped a soft halo over her countenance.
Her figure was graceful, like a willow branch in spring, as soft as boneless petals, giving one an incomparably light feeling.
Bai Youyou seemed to have anticipated it, smiling slightly.
"You're here!"
Just as Lin Chen was about to speak, Sect Master Qi Meng quickly pulled her back and whispered:
"Senior, it seems there is some problem with Lin Chen's Incarnation; could you please take a look?"
Bai Youyou nodded slightly, her expression grave, "Mm! Sect Master Qi Meng, you go out first; I need to help Chen'er take a look."
"Yes!"
Sect Master Qi Meng replied and slowly retreated, leaving Lin Chen and Bai Youyou alone.
Bai Youyou looked at Lin Chen gently, her eyes revealing a hint of doting,
"Chen'er, you've come; you want to find Lin Fan, right?"
Lin Chen tried hard to control her emotions, slightly turning to bow, "I ask Senior Bai to please inform me!"
Bai Youyou gently moved her soft, fair hand, slowly placing it on Lin Chen's shoulder.
"Follow me."
Before the words had faded, space twisted slightly, and the two vanished in an instant.
When they appeared again, they were in a bustling street, with a lively crowd flowing endlessly, bustling and noisy.
Lin Chen could not help but be dumbfounded, her heart filled with shock and confusion.
Bai Youyou said softly:
"Lin Fan lost his True Spirit, but fortunately, his body was robust, and he recovered early on.
You also know his character; he has been fond of women his whole life.
So I bought this Chunxiang Pavilion and gave it to him."
Saying this, Bai Youyou walked in front of Chunxiang Pavilion.
Several songstresses immediately came up to greet them, their laughter filling the ears.
"Oh, the big owner is here, please come in quickly!"
Their voices were like silver bells, carrying a touch of charm.
Bai Youyou led Lin Chen through the lively corridor to a luxurious private room, gently raising her hand, and a gust of wind pushed the door open.
The scene that met her eyes left Lin Chen stunned—Lin Fan (actually Bai Youyou's illusion)
was seen sitting lazily inside, disheveled, revealing firm abs, surrounded by two delicate beauties who were accompanying him with smiles and laughter.
Beside him, there were several maids feeding him fruit, the atmosphere ambiguous and heated.
In the center, a dancer wearing revealing clothes was twisting her graceful figure, dancing a sexy, hot dance, stirring the temperature of the air.
Seeing Lin Chen, Lin Fan greeted her enthusiastically: "Lin Chen, you're here, come, come, come, sit beside me and watch the dance."
Lin Chen was slightly startled, but then remembering Lin Fan's usual character, she couldn't help but sigh softly in her heart, then sat down beside him as instructed.
Her mood was complex; she had a sense of familiarity with Lin Fan, yet it was mixed with discomfort at the scene before her.
Bai Youyou stood to the side, her gaze gentle, seemingly observing all of this, a faint smile hanging on her face, as if she were secretly satisfied.
Lin Chen sat beside Lin Fan, and Lin Fan smiled and placed a piece of golden, glistening roasted meat in front of her.
"Come, eat some meat!"
Lin Chen looked at the delicacy before her, shook her head slightly, and murmured:
"You know, I don't like eating meat."
Lin Fan clapped his hands, and the hanging crystal curtain was pushed aside, revealing a charming young woman, who pushed a small cart slowly toward them.
"My boss knows that you like milk tea the most, young lady; these are all carefully prepared by us, I hope you like them."
The young woman said softly, placing various kinds of milk tea in front of Lin Chen.
Lin Chen's eyes stung, and tears welled up in her eyes. She said in a low voice: "Lin Fan, can't you do something productive?"
Lin Fan adjusted his clothes, waved his hand to dismiss the group of enchanting young women, his gaze grave.
"Lin Chen, I am not as simple as you all. Having lived 99 lifetimes, I have experienced too much; maintaining world peace, punishing the wicked and eliminating evil, I have participated in enough of these.
I only want to live my own simple life; I don't think there is anything wrong with that."
Lin Chen took a deep breath, sobbing as she replied: "Good, it's very good. Thank you, Lin Fan!"
Having said this, Lin Chen pushed open the door of the luxurious private room and hurried away.
Seeing this, Bai Youyou hurriedly chased after her, "Chen'er, what's the matter with you, wait for me!"
With teardrops on her face, Lin Chen's voice was weak but firm, "It's nothing, let's return to the Sect!"
"Alright! Let's return to the Sect." Bai Youyou said softly.
A soft, tender arm gently rested on Lin Chen's shoulder.
Space trembled slightly, and the two vanished on the spot instantly.
When they appeared again, they had returned to Bai Youyou's quiet room.
Bai Youyou slowly returned to her cushions, her soft, boneless body still exuding a tranquil aura.
Lin Chen turned slightly to bow, "Thank you, Senior Bai."
Bai Youyou responded lightly, "Chen'er, go back; I am a bit tired."
"Yes, this Junior will take her leave." Lin Chen wiped away her tear stains and turned to walk out of the room.
The door closed slowly, but Bai Youyou let out a long sigh in the room, a hint of complex emotion appearing in her eyes.
"Chen'er, it's not that I don't want to let you know the truth, it's just that if you knew, you would likely be even more miserable.
Lin Fan, I don't owe you anything; being able to become my second man, you can count as having achieved what all men dream of doing."
Bai Youyou closed her eyes, feeling that sense of distant yet close emotion, as if she were confronting the entanglements of the past.
