Chapter 614: Arson and Robbery 9

Moreover, with his beloved woman standing by his side, how could he pass up such an opportunity to display his wisdom and martial prowess?

Nangong Liuyun glanced indifferently at Emperor Jing, his gaze turning cold. "Imperial Father, Face is not something others give; it must be earned by oneself. Now, do you insist on being partial to him?"

Looking into Nangong Liuyun's unfathomable eyes, Emperor Jing felt a hint of apprehension. He said coldly, "Then what do you want?"

Nangong Liuyun: "It's still the same sentence: it is only right and proper to pay back what one owes."

"How much of his property have you damaged? It's uncountable…" Emperor Jing was complaining.

Suddenly, a list in black and white was handed to Emperor Jing, with categories and addresses clearly listed.

Was he investigating the Crown Prince? Why had he investigated the Crown Prince so thoroughly? Could it be that he wanted to replace him?

Emperor Jing looked up in shock, meeting Nangong Liuyun's cold eyes filled with mockery; the depth within them was startling.

At this moment, a phrase suddenly came to Emperor Jing's mind: A golden scale is not a thing for a mere pond; once it encounters wind and clouds, it transforms into a Dragon.

Such a brilliant and talented Nangong Liuyun was already a Dragon and Phoenix among men; how could this tiny Xiling trap him? How could he possibly care about the position of Crown Prince?

The words of reprimand Emperor Jing had intended to say were instantly swallowed back down his throat.

Nangong Liuyun raised an eyebrow with a half-smile. "The value of the damaged properties is all listed here. Does Imperial Father have any objections?"

Emperor Jing felt very helpless.

Clearly, he was the emperor, so why did it feel like he was being led by the nose by this second son?

He hummed twice. "It is indeed clear and understandable."

Nangong Liuyun said solemnly, "If the Crown Prince hadn't fled, today's events wouldn't have happened. Wouldn't you agree, Imperial Father?"

The more the Crown Prince heard, the more he felt something was wrong… but Emperor Jing nodded helplessly. "What do you want?"

"Your son wants fairness." Nangong Liuyun's eyes were slightly cold. "Although the Crown Prince is the culprit, I am willing to bear half of the losses for him. Does Imperial Father have any objections?"

Before Emperor Jing could answer, the Crown Prince jumped up. "Who are you calling the culprit? I think the real culprit is her!"

The Crown Prince pointed his finger directly at Su Luo.

Su Luo frowned slightly.

She was just curious about what a real-life ancient emperor looked like, so when Nangong Liuyun asked for her opinion, she had followed him without a word.

She was just a spectator and didn't want to participate in the play; the Crown Prince's exasperation would surely annoy Nangong Liuyun.

Su Luo crossed her arms and glanced sideways at the exasperated Crown Prince, a casual smile playing on her lips.

Because of the Crown Prince's gesture, everyone's gaze shifted to Su Luo.

It went without saying that the Empress's expression was unfriendly.

At this moment, Emperor Jing looked at Su Luo, his expression clouded and his eyes narrowing dangerously.

Emperor Jing frowned in displeasure. "Since when can anyone just enter My Imperial Study?"

Su Luo glanced indifferently at Emperor Jing and smiled coldly. "The Emperor is right to remind me; this humble girl will leave now."

As Su Luo turned to leave, her slender wrist was caught by Nangong Liuyun. He whispered something to her with a smile, but when he looked up again, his eyes were clouded over.

Those ink-black eyes emitted a chilling light, gloomy and bloodthirsty, truly making one's heart turn cold.

Even Emperor Jing couldn't help but take a step back.

A cold smile played on Nangong Liuyun's lips as his gloomy voice rang out, "Imperial Father, if I become the emperor, will my Girl Luo be able to enter and leave this Imperial Study as she pleases?"
