Chapter 617 Elder’s Token
Looking at the youth who bore the shadow of an old friend.
He was a descendant of Tian Tian from his Lingyu Restaurant; a hint of Tian Tian's shadow appeared in him.
The youth's appearance also stirred a trace of his memories.
The youth seemed a bit nervous as he arrived at the restaurant, but there appeared to be no seats.
Tian Wu looked at the crowded restaurant; it hadn't been easy for him to reach the vicinity of the Xuantian Sect.
Wanting to join the Xuantian Sect, he had arrived here early.
The Xuantian Sect's Disciple Recruitment Ceremony was in three days, and he wanted to try no matter what.
Because of this, a vast number of people wishing to join the Xuantian Sect had gathered in its outer reaches.
Many came from very distant places, even starting their journeys a month or a year in advance just to make it here.
The people around didn't change anything because of the youth's appearance.
Seeing this, the youth patted his pocket; better forget it, he didn't have much money left anyway.
Saving a bit was better than nothing; if he could join the Xuantian Sect, he might be able to buy other things, perhaps even something helpful for his Cultivation.
Thinking this, Tian Wu prepared to leave, but the waiter called out to him at that moment.
"Guest, would you like to wait a moment? It'll be ready soon. I can arrange a seat for you first. The dishes in our restaurant are superb."
Tian Wu wiped the corner of his mouth. "Forget it. Next time, I'll come back next time."
Just then, another waiter hurriedly ran to Tian Wu's side, making the first one look on in confusion.
"What's wrong? Why run over so suddenly?"
The waiter ignored him. "Guest, a gentleman inside says he wants to treat you to a meal. He's waiting for you in the loft."
Tian Wu was puzzled. "Treat me?" He didn't know anyone, especially in an Advanced place like the loft.
The waiter saw his confusion. "That lord said he knows you."
"Knows me?"
Tian Wu thought for a moment and decided to take a look. This was the Xuantian Sect's territory; ordinary people wouldn't dare cause trouble here.
Tian Wu followed the waiter to the loft.
Along the way, Tian Wu wondered who could possibly know him. It shouldn't be anyone, unless it was one of the friends he'd met on the road.
With a heart full of doubt, he arrived at the loft's entrance.
Seeing this, the waiter said, "Guest, please go in on your own. I'll take my leave now."
This waiter knew the person in the loft was no ordinary individual. For generations, the managers had never allowed other guests to use this loft.
It was reserved for the guest inside, and it had been that way for centuries.
He was quite envious that this kid could know the person inside.
Still curious, Tian Wu pushed open the door.
A man sat by the wine table. He possessed an indescribable temperament that made one relax at first glance.
But as Tian Wu looked at the man, he realized he didn't know him at all.
Su Yu usually altered his appearance slightly when going out alone, especially now that his fame was growing; almost everyone in the Xuantian Sect's territory knew of him.
I don't know him, so why would he invite me here?
Tian Wu stood to the side, puzzled, but his stomach betrayed him with a growl.
Seeing this, Su Yu smiled. "Don't be polite. Sit down and eat first."
Tian Wu let down his guard; instinctively, he felt this person wouldn't harm him.
So, Tian Wu sat down.
Seeing the completely unreserved Tian Wu, Su Yu saw more of Tian Tian's shadow in him.
Su Yu remembered that the Sect's Disciple recruitment was in three days.
This youth had also rushed here for that reason.
Su Yu looked at Tian Wu. The kid had a Dual Spiritual Root; his Aptitude was quite good.
After a moment, Tian Wu spoke up. "Senior, we don't seem to know each other. Why would you invite me to dinner?"
"You look very much like an old friend of mine. You reminded me of her."
"I see. Thank you, Senior."
"Once I join the Xuantian Sect, if you ever run into any trouble, Senior, you can come to me for help."
Hearing the youth's declaration, Su Yu smiled. "Alright."
During this time, Tian Wu completely relaxed and chatted a lot with Su Yu, talking about his dreams and some things that happened at the Lingyu Restaurant.
He also mentioned which Elder he wanted to apprentice under, showing a good understanding of several Elders.
Tian Wu looked at Su Yu and said, "Actually, I want to meet Elder Su the most. But rumors say Elder Su is in seclusion year-round and hasn't appeared for centuries. I don't think I'll have the chance for now."
"I'll tell you a secret, but don't mention it to anyone else."
"Actually, my Lingyu Restaurant has some history with Elder Su."
"Is that so?" Su Yu feigned confusion.
"Yes, but that was a long time ago. Elder Su probably doesn't even remember it."
Su Yu smiled and said nothing.
Over the following time, Su Yu saw the youth's spirit and dreams.
Su Yu waved his hand, and a token appeared in his grasp.
Su Yu tossed it to Tian Wu. "Kid, with this token, you can join the Xuantian Sect right now."
"We shall meet again if fate allows."
As soon as he finished speaking, Su Yu vanished from the spot and returned home.
Tian Wu was stunned by the situation. What was going on? Why did the Senior suddenly disappear after saying those things?
He could join the Xuantian Sect just by using the token on the table? Had he encountered an Elder of the Xuantian Sect?
Was his luck really that good?
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but feel excited, though he quickly calmed down.
Tian Wu picked up the token; it was indeed a Xuantian Sect Elder's token.
He had actually encountered such an opportunity. It was truly miraculous; he had only gone to a restaurant for a meal.
Looking at the character 'su' on the token—was this Elder also surnamed Su? He hadn't heard of an Elder Su like this; was he not very famous?
He decided to head over to the Xuantian Sect to see if the token worked and to confirm which Elder it belonged to.
Looking at the remaining food on the table, he decided to finish eating first.
By now, Tian Wu had arrived at the main gate of the Xuantian Sect.
Normally, entry was forbidden—at least for ordinary Disciples coming to join the Xuantian Sect.
There was another line for those entering, and this line was different.
Those queuing here mostly held Elder Recommendation Tokens; they were either Family Prodigies or individuals with outstanding talent.
Or perhaps they were the children of a Sect Elder's old friend. Those with recommendation tokens could bypass the tests and enter directly.
Tian Wu felt a bit nervous seeing this. He had only just received the token and still didn't know who this Elder Su was.
Forget it, he'd just join the line first.
Tian Wu began to queue, and his appearance sparked discussion among the onlookers.
"He has an Elder Recommendation Token too? I've never heard of him. I wonder which Elder's token it is."
"Let's watch. We'll find out in a moment."
