Chapter 634 Recalling the Past

As for the Heavenly Maiden Sect, the number of times Su Yu had visited this place could be counted on one hand.

He realized that he hadn't actually visited Ling Wanqing's home in the Heavenly Maiden Sect very often.

Thinking about it, he felt a bit nostalgic.

Seeing this, Ling Wanqing said, "Let's go, let's head back to my home for a look this time."

The two vanished from where they stood and reappeared within the Heavenly Maiden Sect.

The people of the Heavenly Maiden Sect had no idea that there were now two extra people in their Sect.

The Heavenly Maiden Sect of today had changed quite a bit; although it couldn't compare to the current Xuantian Sect, it was still highly sought after by many.

After all, the situation of the Heavenly Maiden Sect was unique, as they only recruited female Disciples.

Nowadays, there were also some Disciples from the Yao Race in the Sect, but most of them belonged to the Fox Clan, Snow Clan, and the like.

The two arrived at the mountain peak where Ling Wanqing had grown up.

The Legacy of her lineage had not yet been severed.

The current Peak Master of this peak still followed some of the previous traditions.

One could say they were under Yun Ruyan's tutelage. The two arrived at Ling Wanqing's home.

Nothing inside the home had changed, and there were no signs of neglect or abandonment on the outskirts.

One look at the surroundings revealed that someone must come to clean the outer area.

Presumably, the same was true for the inside of the house.

She didn't have anything particularly special inside; it was fine if Disciples came in to tidy up, as it added a touch of life to the place.

Su Yu looked at the courtyard, which hadn't changed much. It appeared very quiet and lonely, completely different from his own place.

His courtyard was full of life, especially with the Treasure Seeking Rat and others around.

Ling Wanqing stood before the house. She didn't enter immediately but stood there for a long time, lost in thought.

Looking at the courtyard before her, scenes from the past gradually appeared before her eyes.

There were images of her running around as a child; those figures from her youth to adulthood flashed rapidly through her mind.

Su Yu stood by her side without making a sound to disturb her.

He could tell that Ling Wanqing was reminiscing about the past. He sometimes felt this way too, thinking of old times in a daze.

The feeling of such emotions suddenly welling up was quite subtle.

But he also quite enjoyed that feeling, just as he would occasionally remember things from his past life.

Even though so much time had passed, the events and experiences of his previous life were still vivid in his mind.

Sometimes he would wonder what his life would have been like if he hadn't come here.

After a moment, Ling Wanqing snapped out of it.

"Let's go, let's take a look inside. You have to tour my home, don't you?"

The two of them walked into the room.

The room was exactly as they expected: very tidy, one could even say spotless.

The items originally left here were basically still inside.

On the bedside table were some trinkets Su Yu had given her, all arranged there by her.

Su Yu walked over to the bedside table.

"This is the thing I gave you not long after we met, isn't it?"

"I didn't expect you to keep it here."

Ling Wanqing smiled. "I've kept everything you gave me. Leaving some things here was also to leave behind some memories."

"We don't know if we'll ever have the chance to come back to this so-called Southern Region in the future."

"Perhaps we'll come back in ten thousand years, or perhaps not."

"In ten thousand years, even the Heavenly Maiden Sect will surely have changed a lot. It wouldn't be surprising if even this house disappeared."

"When that time comes, it'll be nice to have my memories buried here."

Su Yu didn't say anything more after hearing this.

He just quietly looked at the surrounding objects, and after a moment, he took out another item and placed it by the bedside.

This was one of the items Ling Wanqing had given him back then.

Seeing Su Yu's action, a touching smile appeared on Ling Wanqing's face.

"You… you're still so good at touching my heart. No wonder I fell for your tricks back then."

Su Yu chuckled.

"This place is full of memories. The Heavenly Maiden Sect is where you grew up, so it holds a unique significance for you."

Ling Wanqing went to the bed and lay down, spreading her limbs out in a star shape.

She closed her eyes, seemingly reminiscing about something.

After a moment, Ling Wanqing patted the spot beside her, and Su Yu likewise lay down next to her. Neither of them said a word.

They simply enjoyed the tranquility.

Returning to the outer courtyard, the two sat and drank tea, occasionally chatting about things that had happened in the Heavenly Maiden Sect previously.

They also observed the current state of the Heavenly Maiden Sect.

The Heavenly Maiden Sect Leader had also changed by now.

Time often slips away unnoticed like this; happy times are always so.

"Someone's coming. It's about time for us to leave."

The two vanished from the spot.

After they left, a woman arrived at the courtyard.

She had no idea that the owners of this house had just returned.

She was only here to clean the exterior of the house; outsiders had been forbidden from coming here for a very, very long time.

Only those like her, responsible for cleaning, were allowed in.

However, they weren't allowed to touch the things inside. She knew that the items inside were left by a Peak Master from a very long time ago.

Her name was Ling Wanqing, and she was the founder of this lineage.

Therefore, the place held an extraordinary meaning.

She had supposedly fallen during the War between Immortals and Demons. The woman was very curious about what kind of person this Old Ancestor, whom she had never met, actually was.

She had gone to learn a bit about her, but the more she learned, the more she felt a sense of loss.

Why couldn't she meet her?

The two arrived at the place where they had stayed the longest in the Southern Region.

The Xuantian Sect.

Ling Wanqing also saw the changes in the Xuantian Sect.

"Your Sect is truly different. A fellow like Ye Lin has completely changed the landscape."

"The Xuantian Sect of today can be described as being at the peak of its power."

"The same goes for the many situations currently happening in the Southern Region. Truly, time can change many things. We didn't have this kind of treatment back in our day."

Su Yu nodded. "Yes. Let's go home and take a look."

The two arrived in the courtyard.

The courtyard still hadn't changed much. Su Yu applied a bit of camouflage to the courtyard to make it look like it had gathered some dust.

Su Yu spoke up, "I didn't expect that after all these years, this courtyard still hasn't changed."

Ling Wanqing replied, "Of course. Last time I came back, I left some protections on this courtyard. They basically can't demolish it."

"And naturally, no one else can move in. It seems the Xuantian Sect preserves the residences of Elders who have unexpectedly disappeared and won't let others live in them."

The people of the Xuantian Sect believed that "they would return one day. The Xuantian Sect does a very good job in this regard."

"Furthermore, you were the only one in this place originally, so no one from the Sect would really come here."

"True. It's been a long time since I've been back to this home; everything is still so familiar."

Similarly, this place carried the memories of the two of them.
