Chapter 636: Mutated Primordial Spirit (Third update, requesting monthly vote)

Wang Lin's Physical Body, his hair floated up as if pulled by an unseen force, streaks of lightning traveled along his hair strands, quickly dispersing into the surrounding stone walls. His Primordial Spirit inside his body was even more saturated with thunder and electricity.

The Primordial Thunder Dragon's refusal to yield made the process of Fusion fraught with danger and peril. The Dragon struggled continuously within the Primordial Spirit; the more it struggled, the brighter and denser the electric light it emitted became.

The powerful electric light pushed Wang Lin's Primordial Spirit to the verge of collapse. If he hadn't resisted with a determination unimaginable to ordinary people, his Primordial Spirit would certainly have dissipated at this moment.

Wang Lin's Primordial Spirit suddenly opened its tightly shut eyes. Streaks of electric light shot out from within, just like the Primordial Thunder Dragon. He had a premonition that if his Primordial Spirit continued to remain inside his Physical Body, the Physical Body might be directly affected, leading to the extinction of its life force.

With a surge, his Primordial Spirit flew out from the Heavenly Spirit of his Physical Body. A look of decisiveness appeared on his face. Without hesitation, he plunged his right hand directly into his body, grabbing the Thunder Dragon, which resembled a Meridian, and with a pull, he immediately dragged out a little less than half of the Dragon.

The roar of the Thunder Dragon erupted suddenly, bringing forth a large amount of thunder and electricity that spread out from Wang Lin's Primordial Spirit and struck the surrounding walls, creating crackling electric sounds.

After pulling out half of the Thunder Dragon, a cold light flashed in Wang Lin's Primordial Spirit. With a wave of his left hand, a large number of Restrictions appeared, one by one branding themselves onto the body of the half-Dragon. Having finished this, Wang Lin released his grip, then reached deep inside his body again, pulling out another segment, continuously leaving Restriction brands.

Using external force combined with his Primordial Spirit, he sealed and consumed simultaneously. Repeating this cycle, Wang Lin became completely immersed in the Fusion, forgetting everything else, for an unknown amount of time.

His Physical Body gradually lost its luster and slowly withered, but it did not die. Instead, it entered a state of quiescent suspended animation to prevent the loss of life force.

Day after day, year after year, the struggles of the Primordial Thunder Dragon within Wang Lin's Primordial Spirit were no longer violent, though it was still struggling. However, countless Seals and Restrictions were densely flickering all over the entire Dragon, forming overlapping Dragon Scales!

As the years flowed by, Wang Lin's Primordial Spirit gradually shrank. His entire body eventually transformed into a three-foot-tall form, resembling a Cultivator's Nascent Soul!

Although it had shrunk, it emitted fierce thunderous might. The entire Primordial Spirit was no longer crystal clear as before; instead, it radiated endless electric light, as if ten thousand silver snakes were swimming across it.

Wang Lin opened his eyes. Rumbling thunder echoed all around. Two bolts of lightning shot out from his eyes, like swimming Dragons, heading straight out of the rift and disappearing into the pitch-black void.

The Primordial Spirit floated up and gradually approached the Physical Body. Wang Lin glanced at his Physical Body, his eyes flickering with lightning, revealing a cold indifference and pressure akin to Reincarnation.

His Physical Body's muscles had almost completely atrophied; he was nothing but skin and bones, like a skeleton. If not for a sliver of life force remaining in his glabella, this Physical Body would have long become a corpse.

The Primordial Spirit floated to the top of the Physical Body's head and gradually merged into it. However, as it sank in, he felt a layer of resistance. Fortunately, this resistance dissipated after a moment, allowing his Primordial Spirit to successfully enter the Sea of Consciousness.

In an instant, lightning shone through Wang Lin's Physical Body, traveling across his entire frame. His muscles recovered rapidly at a visible speed, returning to normal in a flash, though he appeared slightly thinner compared to before!

Wang Lin deeply exhaled a breath of Turbid Qi. This aura was gray, and after he exhaled it, it surprisingly contained lightning. His eyes were as bright as lightning cutting through the night, reflecting deep contemplation.

"This journey was extremely perilous, but the gains far exceeded my imagination. I don't know if this is good or bad… My Primordial Spirit has been completely altered, as if assimilated. Right now, my Primordial Spirit is more like… a bolt of Heavenly Thunder!"

The contemplative look in Wang Lin's eyes deepened. He raised his head and looked out along the rift.

"Primordial Spirit transforming into Thunder… that is quite interesting. Now, destroying my Primordial Spirit would probably be equivalent to destroying Heavenly Thunder! Although my cultivation is still at the Early Stage of Soul Transformation due to this Opportunity, it has granted me the power of thunder!" Wang Lin raised his right hand, lightning flickering upon it, quickly forming a Thunderball. A popping sound came from inside the Thunderball, like an explosion, clearly indicating its instability. After a moment, the Thunderball collapsed. Wang Lin's eyes flashed, and he swallowed the energy whole. A trace of color returned to his face, and he gradually recovered.

"It's just, what exactly is my current Primordial Spirit…" A look of confusion appeared on Wang Lin's face. He never imagined that swallowing that half-segment of the Dragon would cause such a bizarre change in his Primordial Spirit.

He had not completely absorbed the Thunder Dragon; he had only refined one-fifth of it. The rest was Sealed within his Primordial Spirit.

After a brief silence, Wang Lin tested his Divine Abilities one by one. All Divine Abilities were usable, and even the Dao of Yellow Springs remained. Only then did Wang Lin breathe a sigh of relief.

But immediately, he sensed a difference. Although the Divine Abilities looked no different on the surface when executed, if he felt carefully, he could faintly discover that they contained thunderous might!

A very strong trace of thunderous might!

Wang Lin frowned. The enhancement of his Divine Abilities was inherently a good thing, and the increase in strength was significant. With his current Divine Abilities, he could take the lead among Middle Stage Soul Transformation Cultivators, and combined with his Magic Treasures, he could even fight against a Late Stage Soul Transformation Cultivator!

But Wang Lin always felt something was off, as if something had been forgotten.

He contemplated for a long time, but that feeling persisted. Standing up, Wang Lin walked toward the entrance of the rift. It was pitch black outside, and bursts of whistling suction sounds came through, like the wailing of ghosts and howling of wolves. The closer he got to the exit, the more intense the sound became.

Staring outside the rift, a thought suddenly flashed through Wang Lin's mind like lightning—he realized why he had that feeling that something was wrong!

"Why did my own Physical Body have that resistance when I merged into it just now!!" Wang Lin's expression was extremely grim. The loose devil soul was also Sealed within his Primordial Spirit, making Possession impossible, and his Physical Body did not look like it had been Possessed by someone else.

"The problem, it seems, lies with my Primordial Spirit!" Wang Lin's Primordial Spirit moved; he prepared for Soul Emergence again, but instantly, his expression froze.

"Primordial Spirit… cannot leave the orifice…" Wang Lin immediately retreated a few steps, sat cross-legged on the ground, and after several attempts, he opened his eyes. There was no panic in his gaze, only calm contemplation.

"It's still that layer of resistance, blocking the Primordial Spirit, preventing it from leaving the body. Could this be the price of the Primordial Spirit's mutation…" Wang Lin exhaled deeply.

"Forget it, I won't think about this for now. Let me see what Divine Ability that Token possesses, that it could actually materialize from within the fog!" Wang Lin patted his Storage Pouch, and a purple Token immediately appeared in his hand!
