Chapter 65: The Path of Rebirth (V)
Half an hour later, Lin Fan had eaten his fill and even let out a satisfied burp.
Bai Youyou asked with a playful tone, "Are you full?"
Lin Fan rubbed his round belly and replied, "Couldn't be fuller."
Bai Youyou gave a faint smile, her deep, water-like eyes shimmering with an enchanting light. She reached out into the void, her slender fingers grasping at the air.
Lin Fan instantly lost his balance and was dragged before her by an invisible force.
Lin Fan's body was forced forward; in an instant, he could almost feel the warmth of Bai Youyou's body and her unique, faint fragrance.
That scent lingered at the tip of his nose, refreshing and intoxicating.
Her red lips were sexy and alluring, barely half an inch away from him.
Lin Fan could clearly see the glimmer on her lips and feel a sense of oppression spreading all around.
Bai Youyou raised one eyebrow slightly, a trace of cunning in her eyes. Her voice was like a cold wind, gentle yet possessing an irresistible power.
"Lin Fan, please me."
Her voice flowed slowly into Lin Fan's ear, deep and sexy, like an inescapable temptation.
She hooked her arm around Lin Fan's neck, her fingertips lightly grazing his skin, sending a shiver down his spine.
"Please me. Perhaps I can help you find the next key item that will allow you to be resurrected,"
Her words sounded like an offer he couldn't refuse.
Lin Fan's gaze instantly became complex. Facing such close-range temptation, his heart surged with waves, yet he didn't show a shred of panic.
He knew that Bai Youyou was no ordinary woman; any rash action could lead to fatal consequences.
Every word she spoke and every action she took hid a deeper meaning.
Lin Fan pursed his lips slightly, his gaze as cold as ice. Facing her oppression, he said in a deep voice:
"How do you want me to please you?"
Bai Youyou's laughter carried a soft temptation; her voice was like a trickling stream, yet it hid a deep longing.
She leaned closer, almost brushing against Lin Fan's ear, her warm breath lightly grazing his skin, making him feel a fatal temptation.
Lin Fan almost couldn't help but want to conquer the woman before him with his spear.
But he held back. If this Bai Youyou were a licentious person, she would never have founded the Xuanyin Qin Sect, nor would she only accept female Disciples.
"I want you to give me the same kind of being moved as you gave to Lin Chen and Meng Li."
She said softly, her tone filled with an indescribable expectation.
Lin Fan was stunned; he hadn't expected Bai Youyou to make such a request.
A flash of complex emotion crossed his eyes, and countless memories instantly welled up in his heart.
Meng Li, at the very last moment, seeing him risk his life to block a fatal attack for her, her eyes misty with tears, filled with deep emotion.
Lin Chen, when she brushed past him—old and frail—on the edge of life and death, that indescribable attachment and reluctance to part had also deeply moved her.
And now, Bai Youyou, this cold, arrogant, and almost heartless woman, was actually longing for such an emotion?
Could it be that having lived for endless years and witnessed countless life-and-death moments, she had never truly felt such warmth?
"Being moved?" Lin Fan's voice was slightly low, carrying a hint of disbelief, "You… also need this kind of thing?"
Bai Youyou's gaze dimmed for a moment, but soon, she returned to her indifferent appearance, though her eyes remained deep and hazy.
"Yes," she whispered, her tone carrying a touch of inexplicable fragility and tenderness.
"Although I, Bai Youyou, have lived for thousands of years and seen countless ups and downs, no one has ever done even a single thing that truly moved me.
Perhaps I don't care about love, nor do I care about promises, but… I want to feel it once, that sincerity of being willing to give everything for the other person."
Lin Fan fell silent. It wasn't that he didn't feel the longing in Bai Youyou's words, but this was simply too unexpected.
He knew that Bai Youyou had always been a high and mighty existence, strong and inviolable.
Now, she was actually asking him to bring her that feeling of being moved, the same kind as Meng Li and Lin Chen!
Could he give it to her?
Lin Fan couldn't help but smile bitterly, "What you want cannot be given through mere superficial actions."
Bai Youyou's eyes sharpened, "You are unwilling?"
Lin Fan shook his head, looking straight into her eyes, as if wanting to see through her true inner thoughts.
"Do you really think that those moments of being moved were things I deliberately designed?
They were genuine reactions in life-and-death moments, the most honest choices of my heart when facing them.
I cannot give you this feeling, because being moved is never something that can be commanded at will."
Bai Youyou snorted coldly, her gaze like ice.
"But you have no choice."
Before her words faded, she suddenly reached out. Her slender yet powerful fingers gripped Lin Fan's cheeks like iron pincers, forcibly pressing his head backward.
Lin Fan only felt a powerful, irresistible force pressing down on him, and time and space tore apart in that instant.
Accompanied by a low roar, the surrounding space shattered, and a deep passage quietly formed, leading to an unknown dimension of time and space.
Lin Fan only had time to see Bai Youyou's cold smile for an instant before he was ruthlessly thrown into that pitch-black spatial rift.
His body instantly lost all sense of gravity; the surrounding darkness surged toward him like an abyss, crazily tearing at his consciousness and body.
He didn't know how long he had been falling; time seemed incomparably long in this void.
Until a cold sensation arrived, he opened his eyes abruptly and found himself lying in a vast, snow-white field.
Snowflakes like goose feathers drifted down from the sky, and the cold wind whistled past, carrying a bone-chilling cold.
Lin Fan tried to stand up, but his whole body was stiff, as if he had just crawled out of a frozen abyss.
He looked around; the world was silent, with only an endless snowfield, seemingly far from any trace of civilization.
"Where is this?" he muttered in a low voice, his brows furrowed, feeling very uneasy about the environment before him.
Lin Fan subconsciously called out to his System: "Xiao Du? Xiao Du! Answer me!"
However, only the whistling wind and snow remained in his ears; no one answered.
He tried calling out to Bai Youyou again, "Bai Youyou! What is the meaning of throwing me into this wilderness!?"
But the only response was the swirling, heavy snow.
Lin Fan gritted his teeth in anger and cursed, "Crazy woman! If I can't give you that kind of feeling, then let me out!"
His voice echoed across the empty snowfield, but still, there was no response.
Silence reigned.
He gradually calmed down and let out a long sigh: "At least the nano cube is still here, and my cultivation hasn't been sealed."
He looked down at the nano cube in his hand, feeling a little comforted, "At least I haven't completely lost the ability to protect myself."
Since there was no response, Lin Fan decided to explore the surroundings; perhaps he could find some clues.
He lifted his foot, stepped into the thick snow, and walked into the distance.
Snowflakes drifted onto his shoulders, and the whole world plunged into endless cold and silence.
