Chapter 69: Stepping into the Demonic Path

For a time, although his family was very poor, they lived a fulfilling and happy life, and everything seemed to be developing in a good direction.

However, a crisis shattered their lives.

Chen An remembered that day very clearly; a bully in his village had targeted his family. Over some trivial matter, the bully not only killed his father but did not spare his mother either.

Because he happened to be out playing at the time, when he returned, he saw the scene of his parents' tragic death, and the surrounding villagers even shielded the perpetrator.

Just because he was the village chief's son, no one dared to stand up for him.

Not only that, the people in the village later ostracized him and drove him out of the village. At this moment, the seeds of hatred had already been quietly planted in his heart.

He wandered until he arrived here, but no matter where he went, he was bullied. No one looked up to him; they all laughed at him, calling him an unwanted beggar.

Until today, when he heard that someone could bring him power, he was determined to seize this opportunity no matter what. He wanted revenge; he wanted to become the one who set the rules.

Jiang Cheng looked at Chen An and was very satisfied with him. He also examined Chen An and was surprised to find that he actually possessed a Four Spiritual Root.

Combined with his Demonic Technique and his current drive, Jiang Cheng felt that this would be a great potential asset, so Jiang Cheng decided to Cultivate him well and make him serve him.

After all, his other subordinates were just there to make up the numbers; they were basically small potatoes, destined to be cannon fodder, and they lacked that kind of evil determination.

Although he wasn't exactly a good person either, he had lived long enough to have some judgment of character, and what he needed was a real talent like Chen An.

Jiang Cheng looked at Chen An, who was on the ground.

"Kid, what is your name?"

Chen An still didn't have the strength to speak. Jiang Cheng could have healed his injuries now, but he was not in a hurry; it wasn't the right time yet.

Although his eyes had turned into panda eyes, he still looked at Jiang Cheng in front of him with a firm gaze and said:

My name is "Chen An"!

Upon hearing his trembling voice, Jiang Cheng laughed and said: "What an ironic name, but I like it."

"Tell me, what is the first thing you want to do after gaining power?"

"Find the people who just bullied me and take revenge. I want them to pay the price."

"Good. From now on, you will follow me. I will give you the power and status you desire."

Jiang Cheng took out a healing Medicinal Pill, fed it to Chen An, and then channeled Spiritual Qi into Chen An's body.

Chen An's physical condition visibly improved, and he stood up.

Seeing his body recover instantly, Chen An knew that he must have encountered an Immortal. After all, having come to this Market, he had heard of the existence of Immortals.

He had always wanted to find an Immortal to apprentice under, but no one cared about his thoughts, and he simply couldn't get to see an Immortal.

He hadn't expected that he would be able to see an Immortal now, and one who was even willing to help him.

Jiang Cheng threw a sword to Chen An and took out a Medicinal Pill that could temporarily enhance physical abilities and threw it to him. Although this Medicinal Pill had some side effects, it had no impact on them, these Demonic Path Cultivators.

Looking at the longsword and Medicinal Pill handed to him, Chen An ate it without hesitation.

He didn't care what would happen after eating the Medicinal Pill; he had no way back, and he had to seize the opportunity before him.

After Chen An ate the Medicinal Pill, he felt a warm current flowing through his entire body.

Moreover, he now felt a significant increase in his strength. Chen An threw a punch at a nearby wooden stake, and the stake was broken as if it were made of sponge.

This was the first time he felt the pleasure brought by power.

Jiang Cheng was very satisfied with Chen An's current state. "Alright, only the last step remains."

Jiang Cheng took Chen An to find the few people who had been bullying Chen An. It turned out they were gathered in a dilapidated house, which saved a lot of trouble.

"I don't need to teach you what to do, right? Now that you possess power, go experience the pleasure that revenge brings."

Chen An did not hesitate at all, picked up the longsword in his hand, and walked towards the people who had bullied him.

Seeing the murderous look in Chen An's eyes, those people were scared and scrambled to escape. They had never seen such a scene, and they certainly didn't want to die.

But Chen An would not let any of them escape.

Desperate screams kept coming from the abandoned house. Even in death, they would never have imagined that they would die at the hands of the weakling they were just bullying.

After Chen An finished dealing with this, he returned to Jiang Cheng's side.

Jiang Cheng looked at the Chen An before him.

"Not bad, your actions were decisive enough. Alright, come with me." Jiang Cheng took Chen An back to their base.

Looking at the pavilion in front of him, Chen An didn't expect that one day he would be able to enter such a luxurious place.

"Alright, don't be surprised. I have founded a School called the Heavenly Demon Sect. It is not strong right now, but it will be different very soon."

"I will now impart our School's Cultivation Technique to you; you just need to study it well."

Jiang Cheng also explained some common knowledge of the Cultivation World to Chen An, as well as the fact that they were Demonic Path Cultivators.

At first, Chen An was very surprised, but he had never held hope for this world anyway. So what if he was a Demonic Path Cultivator? This was his opportunity, and he only knew that he had to seize it.

After a period of cultivation, Chen An had already reached the Qi Refining First Layer.

Jiang Cheng looked at Chen An and became increasingly satisfied. He hadn't expected this kid's compatibility with the Demonic Technique to be so high; cultivating was simply getting twice the result with half the effort.

"Good, good, good! If cultivated, he will surely be a capable subordinate in the future."

Jiang Cheng looked at Chen An, who had broken through to the Qi Refining First Layer, and seemed to know what he was thinking without Chen An needing to say it.

"You now possess power; go ahead and do whatever you need to do without worry."

"Thank you, Sect Leader."

Chen An arrived at the village where he was born. Looking at this village where everything seemed unchanged, he thought, "Very well, let me be the one to change this status quo."

The people in the village looked at the visitor. At first, they couldn't tell who it was, but gradually, someone quickly recognized Chen An.

"What, why did you run back? There is no place for you in this village anymore; your original house has already been demolished."

Chen An looked towards his original home. Indeed, the house was gone. He no longer needed to have any hesitations now.

Chen An picked up his longsword, and screams began to ring out continuously.

Chen An found the last person—yes, it was the very person who had killed his parents.

The village bully watched as Chen An approached step by step.

"No, don't kill me! I was wrong! Please spare me; I am willing to be your beast of burden."

Chen An ignored him, and in an instant, the person's head was separated from his body.

At the site of his original house, Chen An erected two tombstones for his parents. Since his parents were killed, he had never had this opportunity, and this was also one of his wishes.

Chen An bowed to the tombstones. "Your child has avenged you both. Although I have stepped into the Demonic Path, I have no regrets in my heart. For me, the path ahead is difficult to walk, but it is worth it."

Chen An took one last look at the tombstones, left two bouquets of flowers, and then left.

Meanwhile, Su Yu looked at the information that had just been transmitted, "A treasure land for a Sword Cultivator?"
