Chapter 77: Guild – Not a Single Piece of Equipment Dropped All Night
"My company pays taxes at the maximum rate every month, and we never engage in illegal or illicit projects. What is there for me to worry about?"
Chen Mo said nonchalantly.
Internally, however, he couldn't help but shout: It's good that it has an impact! The more impact, the better. It would be even better if the company lost money.
Tang Qiu fell silent upon hearing Chen Mo's answer. Given the current situation, joining Chen Mo's company was the optimal choice for her.
But she still had one doubt.
Chen Mo's current company is just a small factory, and even counting Cangxue Games, it hasn't reached the point where a legal department is necessary, right?
Thinking of this, she asked.
"President Chen, based on my understanding of the company, there is no need to establish a legal department, right?"
"Attorney Tang, one cannot only look at the present. The company's growth is only a matter of time, so establishing a legal department early can be considered planning ahead."
Chen Mo explained with a bit of a headache.
Is she a 'hundred thousand whys' machine?
"If President Chen can guarantee that the company's future development will not violate laws and regulations, and will not touch moral bottom lines, I can join your company."
Tang Qiu hesitated for a moment, then spoke slowly.
Law and morality were her bottom line.
If it were an immoral company like Ruishang that disregarded employee safety, even if they offered her an annual salary of ten million, she would not join.
"I can guarantee that."
Chen Mo nodded. These requirements meant nothing to him.
"In that case, let's set a time to sign the contract."
Tang Qiu smiled faintly. She somewhat believed Chen Mo's words; after all, she knew a bit about the benefits and treatment of employees in Chen Mo's company.
She believed that a boss who cared about his employees would not do anything immoral.
"Then let's sign the contract at the Garment factory tomorrow. Attorney Tang shouldn't have forgotten where that is, right?"
"I remember. See you tomorrow then."
The two exchanged a few polite words and left the coffee shop together.
…
Late at night,
In a rented apartment.
Jiang Jiu casually downed a bottle of Red Bull on the table, his eyes red as he stared at the computer screen, mechanically controlling his game character to grind monsters continuously.
Just like that,
One hour,
Two hours,
…
Until dawn.
Jiang Jiu leaned back in his chair, looking dazed. He rubbed his head hard with both hands to make himself more alert.
He opened the group announcement. After confirming that he hadn't been grinding the wrong monsters, he fell into self-doubt.
Am I really that unlucky?
An entire night, a whole night's time.
He actually didn't manage to get a single drop.
Are you kidding me?
He opened the guild chat room, intending to ask how the other guild members were doing.
"Did you all manage to get any equipment drops?"
After a while,
People started replying one after another.
"My luck is a bit bad today. I didn't get a single piece of equipment."
"I thought I was just unlucky. Seeing you like this, I feel relieved."
"You guys didn't get anything either? Damn it, I stayed up all night and got nothing."
"…"
Jiang Jiu looked at the conversation among the guild members in the chat room and realized something was wrong.
If one or two people had bad luck and didn't get equipment, that would be understandable. But if everyone failed to get a single piece, then things were different.
Just how low did the game developer set the drop rate!
There were at least twenty, if not thirty, people grinding for equipment all night yesterday, and not a single person got a drop. This is truly absurd.
After thinking about it, he took out his phone and made a call.
After a while, the call connected.
"What is it?"
Listening to the annoyed tone on the other end, Jiang Jiu quickly spoke up.
"Brother Hao, the situation is a bit off."
"What situation is off? Speak clearly."
Chen Cong sat up from the bed and checked the time. It was only a little past seven.
"That game, Tianlong. Didn't you ask us to grind for equipment? The drop rate for that equipment is a bit off. My guild brothers and I ground all night, and not a single piece of equipment dropped."
"Not a single piece?"
Chen Cong asked, puzzled. He had never encountered such a situation before.
"Not a single one," Jiang Jiu replied.
"I see."
Chen Cong's sleepiness vanished instantly. He was planning to take revenge today, but if no equipment dropped, how could he get his revenge?
He hung up the phone,
hurried out of bed to the desk, turned on the computer, and logged into the game.
Entering the guild chat room, he quickly asked,
"Did anyone get any equipment drops?"
Very quickly,
a bunch of guild members replied below.
Looking at those replies, Chen Cong finally understood that Jiang Jiu hadn't been exaggerating.
Not a single person had actually gotten a drop.
Interesting!
They don't really think that lowering the drop rate can stop me, do they?
He quickly sent a message in the guild chat room.
"Keep grinding. I'll transfer twenty thousand for every piece of equipment."
Heavy rewards attract brave men.
The people in his guild were all gaming enthusiasts, the most hardcore of the hardcore grinders.
To grind for equipment, they wouldn't mind pulling several all-nighters.
In the rented apartment,
Jiang Jiu had wanted to go back to bed for a nap, but after seeing Brother Hao's message, he instantly changed his mind.
He got up, walked to the fridge, took out a stack of Red Bull, and put them on the table.
He casually opened a can, took a big gulp, and continued controlling his game character to grind for equipment.
So what if the drop rate is low? If it doesn't drop in one day, I'll grind for two days. If two days isn't enough, then three days.
He was determined to earn this money.
…
After sending the message in the game, Chen Cong took out his phone again and dialed a number.
"Brother Hao, calling at this hour isn't like you!"
The call connected, and a slightly teasing voice came through.
Chen Cong ignored the teasing and asked directly.
"Let's talk business. How many people can you get from your studio?"
"As long as you, Brother Hao, say the word, my entire studio can work for you."
"I have a job here. Help me grind for equipment. Twenty thousand per piece. Do you take it? But I have to tell you one thing in advance: the drop rate for that equipment is extremely low. My guild members ground all night yesterday and not a single piece dropped."
After Chen Cong finished speaking, he waited quietly for the other party's answer.
However, he believed that given the price he offered, the other party wouldn't refuse.
Sure enough, not long after, a voice came through the phone.
"What game, what equipment, how many…"
Upon hearing this, Chen Cong quickly stated some basic information.
"I understand."
Jiang City,
In an office,
Mei Youqian hung up the phone, scanned the office, and called out.
"Everyone, stop for a moment. There's a new job: grinding for equipment. Fifteen thousand per piece."
"I will send the game information to the group later. Pay attention to it."
"Also, I heard the drop rate for this game is a bit low. You can contact more people. As for how much to pay them, you decide for yourselves."
