Chapter 80: The Grand Exam (Part 4)

Bai Fan had intended to turn and leave, but seeing the Ninth Prince's slightly frail yet still resolute face, a complex emotion suddenly surged in his heart.

Although the Ninth Prince had not explicitly stated his position at the Brothel that day, he had been quite kind to him.

If he were to stand by and do nothing today, would that not be unrighteous and heartless?

"Since that is the case, I will lend the Prince a hand."

Before the words had even faded, he took a swift step forward, blocking the path in front of the Ninth Prince.

"Boy, you are courting death!"

The lead assassin let out a sharp shout, kicked off the ground fiercely, and lunged toward Bai Fan like a bolt of lightning.

The blade cut through the air, emitting a shrill whistling sound as it bore down directly on Bai Fan's face.

Bai Fan felt tense, but that instinctive power within his body began to circulate rapidly.

Unflustered, he flashed his body to the side, narrowly dodging the strike.

Immediately following this, he tapped his toes lightly against the ground and flipped backward, avoiding the assassin's subsequent attacks.

"A mere scholar actually has such skills?" The assassin paused, a flash of surprise appearing in his eyes.

Bai Fan's expression was grave, his fists clenched tight. He knew he was no match for these assassins right now, but he could not retreat.

"Ninth Prince, take this chance and leave quickly, I will hold them off!"

The Ninth Prince was slightly stunned, then seemed to think of something, the corners of his mouth curling upward slightly.

"Little scholar! You are an interesting character indeed."

The Ninth Prince pondered for a moment, looking at Bai Fan's back, his eyes filled with a bit more scrutiny and appreciation.

Suddenly, he reined in his smile, his voice low but carrying an unquestionable majesty:

"If you can survive this, you shall be my true worthy brother!"

He paused, his gaze sweeping coldly across the restless assassins surrounding Bai Fan, a trace of complexity showing between his brows as if he were contemplating something.

Then, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, but the smile did not reach his eyes:

"However… Bai Fan, do not forget, you are my man. If you harbor the slightest intention of betrayal, even to the ends of the earth, I will surely take your life."

Before the words had even faded, he violently swung the folding fan in his hand. As the fan opened and closed, a powerful wind pressure surged forth, forcing the few assassins closest to him to retreat half a step.

"Farewell."

The Ninth Prince gave a cold smile, closed his folding fan, and his Aura shifted entirely, carrying the poise and arrogance inherent to royalty. He turned and left without hesitation.

Bai Fan watched the Ninth Prince's figure gradually disappear into the dim alley, his breathing ragged yet he did not retreat.

The assassins before him stared at him grimly, bloodthirsty light flickering in their eyes.

"Hmph, just a nameless scholar, daring to block our path, you are courting death!"

One of the assassins shouted coldly, wielding the long blade in his hand as he slashed directly toward Bai Fan.

Bai Fan dodged nimbly, his movements like flowing clouds and streaming water, evading the fatal strike.

Subsequently, he tapped his feet on the ground and leaped up fiercely, using the walls of the narrow alley to gain leverage, avoiding the subsequent attacks.

His footwork was agile, every movement incredibly precise, as if he had merged with the air; the assassins' blades did not even touch a shred of his clothing.

"Do not waste time with this scholar! Go settle the Ninth Prince!" a burly leader among the assassins muttered in a low voice.

Seeing that Bai Fan's martial arts style was extraordinary, they did not want to tangle with him here.

They exchanged glances, knowing they had to prioritize capturing the Ninth Prince, so they ignored him and chased straight into the alley.

Bai Fan's heart tightened; if he did not stop them, the Ninth Prince would surely fall into danger.

In an instant, his figure darted out like the wind, bearing down on those assassins.

Relying on the rebound force of the wall, Bai Fan performed an exaggerated rotation, his feet carving arcs in the air as his body's center of gravity shifted instantly.

Following the shift in gravity, he kicked out, striking the leader squarely in the stomach.

"Ugh!" The leader let out a muffled groan, shock and anger appearing on his face as he retreated a few steps.

Seeing this, the other assassins swarmed toward Bai Fan, but he nimbly dodged them all, launching counterattacks in the blink of an eye.

Bai Fan snorted coldly, formed his hands into palms, and pushed forward violently, stirring up a gust of Qi.

The assassins who made direct contact were pushed back repeatedly by this force, losing their balance.

The lead assassin shouted, "Surround him, I will go in pursuit!"

Saying this, he stepped sideways onto the alley wall, preparing to vault over Bai Fan.

Bai Fan casually grabbed a piece of broken brick.

"Crack!" It struck the lead assassin's arm, a crisp sound ringing out, as if it had directly shattered his arm bone.

"Clatter," the blade in his hand fell to the ground in response.

"Hmph, don't think about leaving!"

The lead assassin was furious from embarrassment. "Courting death!"

He quickly pulled out a scarlet Medicinal Pill and swallowed it without hesitation.

Instantly, a strange Aura seemed to permeate the surrounding air, the assassin's Aura soared sharply, his muscles bulged, and his strength increased manifold.

The fierce Aura forced Bai Fan to retreat repeatedly.

"Hmph, I thought you were how powerful, but it turns out you are nothing more than this!"

The remaining assassins also quickly consumed the Medicinal Pill, their eyes turning blood-red, a bloodthirsty, ferocious grin appearing in their gazes.

Gripping their blades, they lunged at Bai Fan like starving wolves, the blade edges cutting through the air, bringing forth a cold, chilling gleam.

Bai Fan tried his best to dodge, but he was still cut by the chaotic blades, blood droplets splattering everywhere.

He did a side roll and tumbled into the corner of the wall; the intense pain made him instinctively clutch his thigh, which was streaming blood, his breathing becoming ragged.

The lead assassin revealed a cruel smile, his scimitar trembling slightly in his hand as he looked down at him coldly:

"Daring to ruin my good deeds? Then go to Hell!"

Having said that, he suddenly raised his scimitar, stabbing directly toward the space between Bai Fan's eyebrows.

Bai Fan's leg was injured, making movement difficult; seeing the blade edge approaching, he knew deeply that he could not escape this strike no matter what.

"No… I cannot die!" A strong desire to survive surged through his body like a torrent, and Bai Fan's mind suddenly jolted.

Bai Yi's unique internal Qi from Medicine God Valley surged like a bursting dam, and his hidden potential was detonated!

In an instant, a vast number of martial arts Moves flashed through his mind like a revolving lantern; every action and every detail within those memories seemed as if they had been practiced countless times, familiar to his heart.

It was exactly a martial art suitable for the current combat from his 99 lifetimes of memories that had been triggered.

"Dragon Firmament Sky-Piercing Technique"

"Dragon Firmament Sky-Piercing — Thousand Shadow Slash!"

Bai Fan's figure moved, and his whole person instantly transformed into dozens of afterimages; blades and swords crisscrossed, and the assassins only saw afterimages filling the sky, not knowing his true position.

In a moment, Bai Fan's blade-finger had tapped against the lead assassin's throat; an invisible blade ray cut through the air, blood burst forth, the lead assassin felt a chill at his throat, stumbled back a few steps, and blood gushed out.

"Dragon Firmament Sky-Piercing — Heaven Meteor Split!"

Bai Fan swept with his palm wind, the fierce wind like a blade; the few assassins who lunged up were directly blasted away by the sharp palm force, their bodies twisting into strange postures in the air before crashing heavily onto the ground, wailing incessantly.

"Dragon Firmament Sky-Piercing — Reverse Scale Sever!"

Bai Fan's figure shuttled like a ghost, circling behind the lead assassin, his two palms gathering True Qi and striking out violently.

The assassin only felt an intense pain in his back, his bones fracturing inch by inch, and he was blasted away, crashing into the wall and spitting out a large mouthful of blood.

Bai Fan lifted his hand slightly, and a sword shadow shot out from his fingertips.

"Dragon Firmament Sky-Piercing — Sword Extinguishes Dust!"

The sword shadow cut through the sky, piercing accurately and unerringly into the lead assassin's brow.

The assassin's pupils shrank, and then he fell down powerlessly, dying completely.

After finishing the set of Moves, all the assassins collapsed to the ground, and the surroundings fell into a deathly silence.
