Chapter 89: Mourning the Calamity (End)
Wang Lin had never experienced this feeling before; it was a heart-wrenching pain, as if all the blood in his body had been drained away in that instant, and waves of dizziness surged into his heart.
Wang Lin endured this inexplicable pain, moving quickly. Seeing the three people behind him in constant pursuit, a cold light flashed in his eyes. He changed direction and flew on his sword toward the gathering place of the Corpse Yin Sect.
Four long rainbows streaked across the sky of Jue Ming Valley at an extremely fast speed.
Panic and helplessness were the only thoughts left in the minds of Wang Hao and Wang Zhuo. The two of them didn't even dare to move, watching helplessly as the servant Wang Tao and his younger sister lost their lives on the spot.
The Cultivator with an ethereal, immortal bearing wore a complex expression, sighed softly, turned his head, and looked away.
Teng Huayuan stepped through the gate with a sinister grin. He brought his hands together, and when he separated them, a purple circular ripple instantly spread out, enveloping the entire residence, leaving no way for those inside to escape.
Immediately after, he lifted his feet and walked into the nearest side room, where the servants lived. One could only hear waves of incomparably miserable wails coming from inside the room, and thin streams of yellow smoke drifted out, to be absorbed by the small flag.
The painful faces of seven or eight of the Family's servants appeared on the flag.
Teng Huayuan did not stop, continuing into the next room. There were several more consecutive screams. Wang Hao's body trembled; he wanted to resist, but he could not speak.
Very quickly, all the servants were reduced to vengeful spirits. The sinister look on Teng Huayuan's face deepened. At this moment, most of the Family members had been alarmed by these waves of screams and wanted to come out of their rooms to check, but they all discovered with horror that all the rooms were shrouded in purple light, and they simply could not get out.
They could only hear the constant, miserable wails coming from outside. This unknown fear made all the Family members panic uncontrollably.
Teng Huayuan muttered to himself: "Li'er, that person killed you, so I will kill his entire Family to avenge you." As he spoke, he stepped into another room again.
Wang Hao's body shook violently, as if a force had rushed out from within him. His mind jolted, and he rushed out a few steps regardless of everything, shouting loudly: "No…"
Teng Huayuan turned his head and sneered. He waved his right hand, and the house instantly turned into fly ash without a sound, revealing a man and a woman inside with looks of panic.
This man and woman were none other than Wang Lin's third uncle and third aunt, who were also Wang Hao's parents.
Teng Huayuan grabbed the air with his right hand, and Wang Hao's father immediately floated into the air. He clutched his throat with both hands, his face instantly turning beet red, his mouth agape with an expression of extreme pain.
Wang Hao's eyes were bloodshot, and tears streamed down. He shouted and was about to rush out when Wang Zhuo grabbed him. Wang Zhuo held Wang Hao down tightly and whispered: "Wang Hao, don't be impulsive; the opponent is a Nascent Soul Stage Old Monster."
Teng Huayuan sneered a few times and retracted his right hand. With a sudden bang, Wang Hao's father's head turned into blood mist, and his half-body fell to the ground. His Soul immediately left his body and was absorbed by the small black flag.
"No!!" Wang Hao's throat went hoarse. He felt as if his chest had been struck by a giant rock, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. He stared blankly at his father's corpse and muttered to himself: "Why… why…"
Teng Huayuan grabbed again, catching Wang Hao's mother. After crushing her skull, he threw the corpse backward, landing it in front of Wang Hao.
Wang Hao swayed and spat out another mouthful of blood. He completely collapsed, hugging his mother's corpse, tears streaming uncontrollably. He suddenly looked up, stared at Teng Huayuan, and roared hoarsely: "Why!!!!"
Teng Huayuan's expression was gloomy. He flicked his large sleeve, and the entire Family residence, amidst a flash of purple light, turned into fly ash and dissipated. Left on the ground were about forty or so people; these people were all members of the Family.
They were all panic-stricken, and the women couldn't help but cry out loud. Apart from the living, the ground was covered with headless corpses.
Teng Huayuan grabbed a person with a sinister grin; he was the third uncle of Wang Lin's father, currently the eldest person in the Family in terms of seniority.
Amidst the screams of everyone around, his Soul was extracted by Teng Huayuan, and he died miserably.
Wang Hao stared blankly at everything before him, not noticing at all that Wang Zhuo's hand, which was holding him down, had already dug bloody marks into his arm. Wang Zhuo dared not look into his parents' eyes in the crowd; he lowered his head, his body trembling, his eyes blood-red.
There was crying throughout the crowd. Wang Lin's fourth uncle, having spent half his life in the Jianghu, possessed more courage than the average person. He gave a miserable smile, seemingly having come to terms with things. He was alone; his wife had died of illness a year ago, and his son had been sent to a Jianghu School for training many years ago. At this moment, he cast caution to the wind and asked loudly:
"Senior, how exactly did our Family offend you? In your eyes, we Mortals are like ants, but even if we are ants, you must let us understand why all this is happening!"
The Cultivator with an ethereal, immortal bearing let out a soft exclamation, his gaze flickering as he sized up this middle-aged man.
"Why?" Teng Huayuan pointed his hands several times in quick succession, and instantly several more people died, flesh and blood splattering everywhere, a blurry mess.
"Your Family has produced quite a character. Since he dared to kill my great-grandson, I will exterminate his entire Family!" After speaking, he slapped his right hand, and the ground trembled with a boom, instantly killing more than a dozen people on the spot.
Wang Hao broke free from Wang Zhuo and was about to rush up, but was caught and pressed to the ground by Wang Zhuo again. His face was covered in tears, and he whispered: "Wang Hao, regardless of what happened before, now we must survive. Only by surviving can we take revenge!"
Wang Lin's fourth uncle smiled miserably and said: "Senior, how could anyone in our Family be able to kill your great-grandson? For hundreds of years, there have only been three people in our Family who cultivate." Speaking to this point, he suddenly paused, as if he had thought of something.
Among the survivors, Wang Zhuo's father knelt on the ground with a thud and said in a trembling voice: "Senior, is the person who killed your grandson named Wang Lin?"
A cold light flashed in Teng Huayuan's eyes, and he muttered silently in his heart: "Wang Lin… So his name is Wang Lin!" He glanced at the other person, grabbed with his right hand, and instantly pulled Wang Zhuo's father in front of him. Staring into his eyes, he said word by word: "Tell me about this Wang Lin."
Wang Zhuo's father hurriedly told everything about Wang Lin, along with the location of his parents, from beginning to end. He thought viciously in his heart: "Die, all of you die. Even if you didn't kill him, since the Family is gone, your parents might as well be buried with us."
After hearing this, Teng Huayuan laughed loudly several times. He brought his hands together, and when he separated them, a Lightning Orb appeared between them. He pushed it casually, and a circular ripple instantly rippled out.
Wang Zhuo's father was the closest. As soon as he touched the Lightning Orb's ripple, his whole body trembled, and he, along with his clothes, turned into fly ash. As the ripple spread, everyone it touched vanished into smoke, and their Souls were all absorbed by the small black flag.
When the ripple was about to reach Wang Lin's fourth uncle, he had already closed his eyes, but a soft white light suddenly enveloped him, blocking the Lightning Orb's ripple.
Teng Huayuan turned around and stared at the Cultivator with an ethereal, immortal bearing.
The Cultivator sighed and said: "Fellow Daoist Teng, leave this person; I have a use for him."
Teng Huayuan sneered, pointed at Wang Zhuo and Wang Hao, and said to the Cultivator: "You won't interfere with these two, will you?"
The Cultivator chuckled, looked at Teng Huayuan, and said: "Fellow Daoist Teng, why do you ask when you already know the answer? If you kill them in front of me, I won't intervene at the time, but if Senior Piao Nanzi of the Xuandao Sect asks, I will naturally tell the truth."
Teng Huayuan looked at the Cultivator. After a long while, he stamped his foot, and amidst a booming sound, the entire Family residence became a ruin.
As for Wang Zhuo and the others, he didn't even glance at them. Following the route to Wang Lin's home that he had obtained earlier, he flew into the sky.
Wang Zhuo's body trembled as he stared blankly at the ruins. After a short silence, he knelt on the ground and kowtowed heavily several times. His forehead was already broken, and his face was covered in blood. At this moment, his face looked slightly sinister.
Wang Hao gritted his teeth, gave a miserable smile, swayed, and collapsed to the ground.
Wang Zhuo stood up, picked up Wang Hao, bowed to the Cultivator, and flew toward the direction of the Xuandao Sect. The past friction vanished with the destruction of the Family.
The Cultivator sighed inwardly and thought: "What a sin. I don't know if what I did was right or wrong… But this middle-aged man has extraordinary courage; saving one is better than saving none." Thinking of this, he flicked his sleeve and, along with Wang Lin's fourth uncle, disappeared from the ancestral home of the Family.
In almost an instant, Teng Huayuan arrived at the village where Wang Lin's home was. On the black flag behind him, the Souls of over a hundred people from the Family were all sealed. Looking closely, countless faces were densely packed on it, all showing expressions of pain.
Sounds of miserable wails drifted from the flag, accompanied by gusts of ghostly wind.
After arriving at the village, Teng Huayuan swept his Divine Sense and immediately found the house of Wang Lin's Family. With a sinister grin, he charged down…
A quarter of an hour later, Teng Huayuan walked out of Wang Lin's home. He slapped the black flag with his right hand, and the black flag instantly grew in the wind, becoming incomparably huge. Immediately after, Teng Huayuan bit the tip of his tongue and spat out a mouthful of Nascent Soul blood. The black flag immediately emitted sounds of ghostly wailing, and ripples spread across the flag. Slowly, the ripples subsided, revealing an image in which Wang Lin was walking quickly through a dense forest.
Teng Huayuan grinned sinisterly and pointed his right hand at the image.
Back to Wang Lin. Feeling inexplicably terrified, he was running toward the gathering place of the Corpse Yin Sect with the three people chasing behind him. Suddenly, he felt an unprecedented pain in his chest, as if a breath of Qi had been extracted. With a miserable groan, he stumbled and half-knelt on the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Pain! Unimaginable pain! Indescribable pain!
This pain, like a tide, submerged Wang Lin. Cultivators are extremely sensitive in certain aspects. At this moment, an unprecedented panic surged in Wang Lin's heart, and the kind faces of his parents involuntarily appeared in his mind.
Immediately after, Wang Lin saw a scene that he would remember for the rest of his life.
"No!!!" Two lines of blood tears streamed from Wang Lin's eyes. His expression was painful, his body trembling, and wisps of cold Spiritual Qi rampaged within his body, completely out of control. Within a radius of ten zhang, all vegetation instantly turned into blue crystals. This spread of cold Spiritual Qi continued to intensify…
At this moment, the extreme realm in Wang Lin's Spiritual Qi climbed endlessly. extreme realm, using every means possible.
