Chapter 92: Li Fan and Lin Fan
After collecting the Spirit Sand, Li Fan left the cave and returned to the surface of the sea.
With all the Materials gathered, the next step was to begin refining the Clone.
Naturally, this could not be done right under the nose of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance's tianxuan mirror.
Li Fan thought for a moment and continued flying westward.
There, on a small deserted island, was an Immortal Cave that Si Kongyi had once established.
It had been concealed using the techniques of the Stealing the Sky Changing the Sun Sect, making it difficult for ordinary Cultivators to detect.
Si Kongyi had hidden there to refine his own Clone.
Since that was the case, Li Fan simply headed toward that Immortal Cave as well.
After another two days of flight, he was nearing the deserted island.
However, Li Fan vaguely sensed someone's presence on the island. His heart tightened, and he immediately concealed his form, stealthily creeping closer.
"Strange, it should be on this island."
The voice coming from a distance sounded somewhat familiar.
Li Fan looked closely and saw that the sneaky figure was none other than Jiao Xiuyuan.
He was scratching his head with his left hand while staring at a square object in his right.
The object looked like a compass, but the patterns and symbols on it were much more complex.
A red light pulsed from it, spreading out into the surroundings.
It returned a short while later, emitting a "beep" sound.
"It's impossible; I shouldn't have the wrong place. But why isn't this Spirit-Detecting Plate working?"
Jiao Xiuyuan was somewhat puzzled.
"What are you looking for…" Just then, Li Fan's voice suddenly rang out.
Jiao Xiuyuan jumped in fright, nearly dropping the Spirit-Detecting Plate.
"Fellow Daoist Si Kong?" He turned around, looking at the figure that had suddenly appeared. Obscured by a Hiding Talisman, the figure's appearance was unclear, so he asked tentatively.
"You sent people to sneakily follow us before just so you could slip into my Immortal Cave while I was away?" Li Fan said coldly, his tone unfriendly.
Jiao Xiuyuan gave a nervous laugh. "A misunderstanding, it's all a misunderstanding."
His eyes darted around as he quickly asked, "I wonder where Fellow Daoist Baili is?"
Li Fan didn't answer. He directly took out the Green Wood Purple Fire Array Diagram and trapped Jiao Xiuyuan within it.
Purple flames flared, and amidst a scream of agony, Jiao Xiuyuan was reduced to ash.
The scent of charred wood wafted through the air.
"As expected, it was just a Puppet."
Li Fan wasn't surprised. Looking down at the deserted island, he activated the Heaven Stealing Sun Switching Art.
He faintly sensed the existence of the Immortal Cave hidden within the island's jungle.
He flew down and stopped before a coconut tree that appeared completely ordinary.
With a gentle touch and the verification of his aura, Li Fan felt a pull of suction.
He released his resistance and was able to enter the tree.
Calling it an Immortal Cave was generous; it was actually very crude. It could barely accommodate two people without being cramped.
There was nothing of value inside either.
However, Li Fan only intended to use this place temporarily, so he wasn't picky.
He wasn't worried about Jiao Xiuyuan's retaliation either.
After all, trying to sneak into someone else's Immortal Cave was a dishonorable act on his part.
Furthermore, this place was extremely remote. Even if he wanted revenge, by the time he traveled thousands of miles to get here, Li Fan would have long since finished refining his Clone and departed.
Li Fan stopped thinking about these trivial matters. He took out all the necessary Materials, focused his mind, and began the refining process.
For this Clone, Li Fan did not plan to expend much effort to seize the Fate of other Cultivators.
According to his plan, this Clone was merely a distraction to deceive the world, draw everyone's attention, and obtain the 100,000 contribution points.
This Clone was also meant to stay behind and witness the Crimson Flame Burning Sea.
Since it was ultimately destined to die, there was no need to be so meticulous.
The refining began.
Li Fan took out a mass of his own Essence Blood. Using it as the core, he controlled the Blood of Ten Thousand Sacrifices and the Meat of a Hundred Beasts, mixing and condensing them into a human shape.
Then, he circulated his Cultivation Technique, sensing the various wandering Fates drifting between heaven and earth.
These wandering Fates mostly belonged to the flora and fauna on the surrounding islands.
Each one was very weak.
But they were numerous.
Li Fan carefully extracted a sliver from each of these wandering Fates and gathered them together.
As the extracted Fates increased, Li Fan's control over them became increasingly strained.
He knew he couldn't be too greedy; if he lost control, it would trigger a backlash from the Fates.
When he felt that the Fate he could control had reached its limit, Li Fan stopped adding to it.
He struck this brand-new, blank Fate into the mass of flesh and blood before him.
Instantly, a hint of vitality emerged from it.
The refining process was now mostly successful. Li Fan then added the remaining Materials one after another.
Bones, organs, skin, hair…
Everything slowly took shape.
Afterward, Li Fan adjusted the Clone's appearance.
It was neither too handsome nor too ugly.
A plain, common face—the kind that was hard to spot in a crowd.
A moment later, a face with a dull expression appeared before him.
Li Fan stared at it carefully for a long while and nodded in satisfaction.
Next came the final step.
Li Fan concentrated his mind and pointed at the top of the Clone's head.
"Sever!"
He severed the connection between the Clone's Fate and its source.
The Clone finally became a self-contained entity.
Li Fan and the Clone looked at each other.
Having an extra body meant having a brand-new perspective.
This feeling…
Was quite wonderful.
He controlled the Clone to walk, lie down, stand, and remain still.
After a while, Li Fan slowly grew accustomed to it.
He took clothes out of his storage ring and had the Clone put them on.
The Clone bowed toward the original body. "Greetings, Fellow Daoist!"
The original body smiled. "From now on, you shall be called Lin Fan!"
"Excellent!"
The Clone, Lin Fan, was one minor Realm lower than the original body.
He only had a Middle Stage Qi Refining cultivation.
Moreover, he had no Cultivation Technique; he only possessed the cultivation level.
Since the Clone was finished, the next step was to have him join the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance.
There was no need for Li Fan to provide an introduction.
Lin Fan took the storage ring containing the Cloud Water Diagram and flew toward the vicinity of Lingyun Island.
Li Fan followed quietly behind him to prevent any accidents.
Fortunately, nothing unexpected happened.
After successfully meeting the guard of Lingyun Island, Lin Fan requested to join the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance.
The other party had no reason to refuse.
Thus, after a familiar set of procedures, Lin Fan arrived on Wanxian Island and opened his own tianxuan mirror space.
Li Fan also returned to Wanxian Island, though the two did not meet.
Lin Fan took out the Cloud Water Diagram and chose to complete the quest for the 100,000 contribution points.
At the same time, Li Fan focused his mind, sensing the situation on Lin Fan's side.
The tianxuan mirror remained silent for much longer than usual this time.
A long time passed without any response.
Li Fan thought something had gone wrong.
Finally, the voice of the tianxuan mirror rang out again.
"Unable to determine the authenticity of the Cloud Water Diagram, please wait."
…
"The quest poster… requests to visit your space. Do you accept?"
Lin Fan was taken aback, then chose to agree.
A moment later, a white-haired old man with a kindly face appeared before Lin Fan.
Not a trace of a Cultivator's aura could be sensed from the old man; he seemed just like a Mortal.
