Chapter 93 Unauthorized overtime is not allowed

Jiang Cheng fell silent after hearing Lu Zhenguo’s words.

After a long while, he slowly looked up.

“Old Lu, I’m really sorry, but the workshop staff is already at full capacity; there’s no extra space to add new employees.”

“But rest assured, if any positions open up in the future, I’ll definitely think of you first.”

Jiang Cheng finished speaking and looked at Lu Zhenguo with an apologetic expression; the workshop indeed had no extra positions at the moment.

Although, with his current position as workshop director, he could force someone into the workshop.

But he would absolutely not do that; Chen Mo entrusted him with the position of workshop director, and he had to live up to Chen Mo’s trust.

Even if Lu Zhenguo was his friend, he would not abuse his power for personal gain or do anything that would harm the company’s interests.

Lu Zhenguo’s expression was a bit downcast upon hearing Jiang Cheng’s refusal, but he still believed that the workshop staff was at full capacity.

After all, how could such a good job have any openings?

“Alright then, just remember me if any positions become available in the future.”

“Don’t worry, Old Lu, if there’s an opening, I’ll come to you first thing.”

Jiang Cheng promised.

……..

Old City Community,

A small truck was parked in front of a unit building.

Yang Dahai jumped out of the passenger seat and directed several movers to unload the appliances from the truck.

“Move them to the fourth floor, Unit 2.”

The movers began carrying the appliances upstairs upon hearing this.

Fourth floor, Unit 2.

Chen Mo had just finished the lunch Aunt Dong sent from downstairs and was contemplating what to do when the door was suddenly knocked.

Could it be Yang Duoduo?

He had been living here for a while, and since Yang Duoduo often came to deliver meals, she was already familiar with him.

Sometimes, when she didn’t want to study, she would secretly sneak over to his place.

With him as a shield, Aunt Dong couldn’t do much.

Chen Mo thought to himself, walked to the door, and slowly opened it.

However, what greeted him was a large cardboard box carried by one person, and a head peeked out from behind the box, asking him,

“Hello, where should this refrigerator go?”

A refrigerator?

Chen Mo looked confused.

“Did you deliver it to the wrong place? I didn’t buy a refrigerator!”

The mover paused, then looked up at the unit number.

It was the fourth floor, Unit 2!

“It’s not the wrong place, it’s right here.”

Just then, Yang Dahai’s voice came from below, and after a series of footsteps, he appeared at the doorway.

“Chen Mo, it’s not the wrong place; I told them to move it in here.”

“Brother Yang, what is this…?”

Chen Mo looked at Yang Dahai in confusion, though he had some guesses in his mind.

“Chen Mo, these are all prizes from the sports meet, and we already have all these things at home. But your place is too empty, with no appliances at all, so we decided to move these things here.”

“Chen Mo, you can use them normally.”

Yang Dahai said cheerfully.

He had discussed this with Dong Hong last night; they had also been to Chen Mo’s place and knew that his room lacked even the most basic appliances.

So, they unanimously decided to use the sports meet prizes for Chen Mo’s room.

Whether Chen Mo used them or not, at least doing this would put them at ease.

After all, they had only participated in two events at the sports meet and then received four prizes.

It was too easy, which made them feel very unreal.

“Brother Yang, I remember the finance department is on holiday these two days, so you have nowhere to redeem these prize tickets.”

Chen Mo suddenly remembered that the sports meet ended and they went off work yesterday.

“Chen Mo, we haven’t redeemed the prizes with finance yet; we bought them with our own money first. But the prize tickets are right here, we can just go to finance to exchange them on Monday, it’s no trouble.”

Chen Mo was still a little touched by Yang Dahai’s words.

Although these prizes were issued by him, once they were in Yang Dahai’s hands, they actually belonged to Yang Dahai’s family.

Now that Yang Dahai brought these prizes to him, it meant he was giving away his own things.

He watched the movers slowly carry the appliances into the room.

There were exactly four appliances: a refrigerator, a washing machine, a color TV, and an air conditioner.

Then, several installers came in and finished installing the air conditioner and other appliances that required installation.

Looking at the changes in the room,

Chen Mo couldn’t help but sigh, if he had more employees like this, he wouldn’t have to live so frugally.

…….

The holiday passed quickly.

Chen Mo sat leisurely in his office, holding the coffee Shen Rou had just brewed for him.

He was pondering how to spend the 3 million system funds.

Knock knock knock!

The office door was knocked.

“Chen Mo, I’ve finished inspecting the machinery.”

Jiang Cheng pushed the door open and walked in, placing the documents in his hand on Chen Mo’s desk.

“So fast, you’ve already finished the inspection.”

Chen Mo looked at the schedule on the table in surprise.

He remembered he had arranged for Jiang Cheng to inspect the machinery during the sports meet, but after the sports meet, it was a holiday, and today was the first day back at work, so how could he have inspected the machinery so quickly?

Hearing Chen Mo’s inquiry, Jiang Cheng quickly explained.

“Chen Mo, I took my wife out shopping on the weekend and conveniently went to the machinery trading market to do some inspections.”

Chen Mo instinctively frowned upon hearing this; this was considered unauthorized overtime.

It was fortunate that he went to investigate machinery; if he had gone out to make money for him, it would have been troublesome.

However,

It was still better to give a warning.

He looked at Jiang Cheng somewhat sternly.

“Jiang Cheng, this behavior of yours is considered unauthorized overtime. You are not allowed to do this again, understand?”

“All work-related matters must be done during working hours.”

“I understand, Chen Mo.”

Jiang Cheng nodded obediently upon hearing this.

Looking at Jiang Cheng, Chen Mo nodded and lowered his head to look at the documents Jiang Cheng had brought.

These documents recorded the price of each machine, along with photos and their uses.

However, all his attention was on the prices; as for the photos and uses, he didn’t even look at them.

He just frowned after seeing the prices.

He found that these machines were not very expensive; the cheapest ones were only 4-5 thousand, some were around ten thousand, and the most expensive was a machine for cutting bags, which cost 60,000 yuan.

Replacing the entire set would only cost him a little over 500,000 yuan, which was a huge difference from 3 million!

It simply did not meet his spending expectations!

He had expected to spend at least 2 million this time.

Logically, machinery shouldn’t be very expensive, right? How could it only be this much money? Most likely, Jiang Cheng had chosen only the cheap machines.

“Jiang Cheng, are there no more expensive machines?”
