Chapter 94: Too Late

Senior Sister Tao Yu smiled gently, "Senior Brother is right, but learning the art of alchemy is Junior Brother Bai Ming's request."

Senior Brother Wei Yu's tone was puzzled as he looked toward Junior Brother Bai Ming, "Is that so?"

Senior Sister Tao Yu cast a sideways glance, looking at Junior Brother Bai Ming as well.

Under the direct gaze of the two, Junior Brother Bai Ming looked hesitant, "It is indeed so. I requested Senior Sister Tao Yu to teach me the art of alchemy, and Senior Sister Tao Yu used the antidote as an example."

Senior Brother Wei Yu nodded slightly, "No wonder."

"But medicinal pills are external objects after all. When you have time, let me perform the Spirit Cleansing Technique on you."

Seeing the two practicing alchemy here, Senior Brother Wei Yu's expression was unreadable, and he turned to leave.

A flash crossed Senior Sister Tao Yu's eyes, "Why not stay, Senior Brother? Why choose another time? Just perform the Spirit Cleansing Technique here."

Senior Brother Wei Yu's tone was hesitant, "Perhaps I should help Junior Brother Bai Ming cast the spell tonight; it would be quieter."

Feeling a small hand nudge his back, Junior Brother Bai Ming hurriedly spoke, "Please, Senior Brother, help me cast the spell."

Senior Brother Wei Yu lowered his eyes, "Since Junior Brother Bai Ming insists on doing it here, then so be it."

Senior Brother Wei Yu slowly moved behind Junior Brother Bai Ming, gently placing his hands on his back to begin performing the Spirit Cleansing Technique.

A gentle spiritual energy penetrated through his clothes, reaching straight to Junior Brother Bai Ming's heart.

Senior Sister Tao Yu glanced at the two, "Since Senior Brother is casting the spell, Junior Brother Bai Ming must be clear-headed and sharp-eared now; it is the perfect time to learn the art of alchemy."

She gently pinched the roots of a few herbs with her small hand, leaned close to Junior Brother Bai Ming, and whispered the explanation in his ear.

The two were simply too close; Junior Brother Bai Ming felt an itch in his ear and could even sense a gentle mist.

"This Frost Moon Dew Grass is quite particular; it must be picked in the early morning, before the sun shines upon it."

Senior Sister Tao Yu pinched the stem with her small hand, "And you must preserve the dew on its roots and leaves, otherwise its medicinal properties will be greatly reduced."

She turned her head to look at Junior Brother Bai Ming, "As for the method of preservation, it is quite simple, but there are some things to pay attention to."

"Just like this." Senior Sister Tao Yu's technique was skillful as she manipulated it delicately.

"Did you see clearly? Did you learn it?"

Junior Brother Bai Ming was dazed. With part of his vision blocked, he hadn't seen clearly at all, and he had missed many steps.

"Er… I still don't quite understand. Please, Senior Sister Tao Yu, teach me again," Junior Brother Bai Ming said softly.

Senior Sister Tao Yu's lips curled slightly, and she glanced behind Junior Brother Bai Ming with a sly smile, "Then Junior Brother Bai Ming, you must get closer. I will slow down the speed this time, so make sure you see it clearly."

Receiving the reminder, Junior Brother Bai Ming hesitated for a moment, lowered his head slightly, and moved even closer to Senior Sister Tao Yu, their shoulders touching.

He faintly sensed that the atmosphere was a bit strange, and he just wanted to fulfill Senior Sister Tao Yu's request as quickly as possible to escape this bizarre atmosphere.

Senior Sister Tao Yu performed the operation again to preserve the dew on the Frost Moon Dew Grass.

To be honest, the speed this time was not much slower, but without the obstruction, Junior Brother Bai Ming saw it clearly.

"Did you learn it?" Senior Sister Tao Yu turned her head.

"I did." Junior Brother Bai Ming nodded.

Senior Sister Tao Yu's expression froze slightly, and her tone was unreadable, "Then try and show me."

Junior Brother Bai Ming's eyes were focused as he picked up the herb, "Is it like this?"

Recalling for a moment, Junior Brother Bai Ming imitated Senior Sister Tao Yu's steps, precisely preserving the dew on the herb.

"Senior Sister Tao Yu, look." Junior Brother Bai Ming gently pinched the herb, showing the result.

Senior Sister Tao Yu's small mouth opened slightly, "It looks like you've got the hang of it, but some parts could be done better. I didn't show you before because I was afraid you wouldn't be able to learn it."

"Take another one. This time, I'll slow down."

Obeying the guidance, Junior Brother Bai Ming took out another herb again, slowing his speed and executing it bit by bit.

He had just started the operation for a moment when a pair of tender, smooth small hands reached up and grasped his palm.

"Stop for a moment. You can do it like this here." Senior Sister Tao Yu held Junior Brother Bai Ming's hand, gently moving his fingers as if controlling a puppet.

A warmth spread across the back of his hand, and Junior Brother Bai Ming's body stiffened; he hadn't expected Senior Sister Tao Yu to suddenly grab his hand.

It seemed to be a chain reaction; the gentle spiritual energy in his body was cut off, as if it had gotten stuck.

Senior Brother Wei Yu furrowed his brows and explained, "Apologies, Junior Brother Bai Ming, I was a bit distracted just now. Allow me to perform it again."

Senior Sister Tao Yu's tone was coquettish, "It is truly rare for Senior Brother to be distracted."

Senior Brother Wei Yu feigned ease, "Of course, after all, Senior Brother is just an ordinary person."

After the few finished exchanging words, Senior Sister Tao Yu turned back and taught Junior Brother Bai Ming various techniques even more meticulously.

Even though Junior Brother Bai Ming had already sensed something was wrong, the map was still in Senior Sister Tao Yu's hands, so he had to bite the bullet and keep learning.

Releasing spiritual energy with both hands, Senior Brother Wei Yu's thoughts were chaotic, his eyes glancing at the two from time to time.

Blocked by Junior Brother Bai Ming's back, he couldn't see their movements clearly; he could only see that their heads were very close, and sometimes Senior Sister Tao Yu was almost leaning against Junior Brother Bai Ming's chest.

"Isn't Junior Brother Bai Ming a bit afraid of her? What exactly is going on?" Senior Brother Wei Yu was puzzled in his heart.

Originally, during the process of purifying impurities, he could chat with Junior Brother Bai Ming a few times and observe his expression.

But now, he couldn't interject a single word and could only silently transmit spiritual energy from the side.

With unreadable feelings, Senior Brother Wei Yu accelerated the release of spiritual energy; if it were usual, he would have slowed down a bit.

The purification was complete, and Senior Brother Wei Yu's brows relaxed slightly as he sighed softly.

Seeing that the two were still discussing the art of alchemy, he felt a bit uncomfortable for a moment.

Senior Brother Wei Yu flicked his sleeves, "I have finished clearing the impurities for you, Junior Brother Bai Ming. I will return to cultivate first."

Junior Brother Bai Ming raised his eyes, "Thank you, Senior Brother."

Senior Sister Tao Yu straightened up and glanced over, not saying much.

"Let's stop here for today; you've mastered it anyway." Senior Sister Tao Yu bent down to pack up the herbs.

Junior Brother Bai Ming's eyes shifted, and he turned to leave.

A cool breeze brushed his face, blowing his hair about.

Hair fluttering, slapping against his face, but Senior Brother Wei Yu had no heart to care. He lowered his eyes and head, gently opening the wooden door.

Once inside, he collapsed onto the wooden chair, his hands hanging down, head tilted back looking at the sky.

Exhausted in body and mind, he was unable to maintain his superficial disguise.

His chest rose slowly, pushing against his clothes, and his cheeks changed slightly, becoming soft.

He sighed softly, "How did it become like this?"

He didn't understand; according to the original plan, things had been developing along the normal track.

But in the last few days, things seemed to have changed.

"Should I have revealed my true self earlier?" He pursed his lips, "But I also have to consider Junior Sister."

"I originally wanted to wait until that moment to reveal it. Is it too late?"

He pondered, "Could it be that Junior Brother Bai Ming really likes that kind?"

Amidst his anxious thoughts, he gradually felt weak, not knowing how to handle it anymore.

Moreover, there was one more thing he had to take into account.

Thump—

A crisp knocking sound came, interrupting his thoughts.

"Please come in." He said, exhausted in spirit.

The moment the words left his mouth, he saw a beautiful face through the bronze mirror.

He realized that in his agitated state, he had subconsciously dropped his disguise.

"Wait!" He grabbed his tender, white neck, hurriedly trying to change his voice.

But the wooden door opened even faster; he could already glimpse the figure through the gap.

Casting a spell requires time; it was too late to change back now!
