Chapter 957: This Situation Is Definitely Not Normal!
Meanwhile.
Yunmeng Great World.
Inner Sect of the Demonic Sect.
Gazing at the beautiful, elegant, and orderly buildings around him, Mo Wentian was filled with astonishment, feeling much like a country bumpkin entering a grand manor.
Holy crap!
How did a perfectly good Demonic Sect end up like this?
As the founder of the Demonic Sect, he never even dreamed that the Sect he created with his own hands would be remodeled into this state.
The original dark, cold, and wickedly styled Demonic Path buildings had all vanished without a trace, replaced by uniform green bricks, jade tiles, pavilions, and towers that looked ethereal and refined, brimming with Immortal Qi.
If he didn't know better, he would have thought he had accidentally wandered into some prestigious righteous Sect…
After the initial shock, Mo Wentian could no longer suppress his curiosity. He quickly walked up to a demonic cultivator dressed in the same Disciple robes and pulled him aside to ask:
"Senior Brother, may I ask, is this the Inner Sect of the Holy Sect?"
Finding someone suddenly appearing beside him without a sound, the demonic cultivator was startled at first. He then sized Mo Wentian up and down before responding irritably:
"Nonsense, if this isn't the Inner Sect, where else would it be? Kid, you didn't get lost, did you?"
"That's right."
Despite his internal confusion, Mo Wentian didn't take issue with the man's attitude. Instead, he nodded directly and went along with it, explaining:
"I am a new Outer Sect Disciple and am not yet familiar with the Holy Sect's layout. I accidentally lost my way… I would appreciate it if Senior Brother could give me some directions."
As he spoke, he very tactfully took out a bag of Spirit Stones from his Storage Ring and stuffed it into the other's hand.
Seeing Mo Wentian being so sensible, the impatient look on the demonic cultivator's face immediately vanished, replaced by a warm and friendly smile:
"No wonder you look unfamiliar, brother; it turns out you're a newcomer who just joined. It just so happens that I am very familiar with the Sect's terrain. Why don't I give you a tour today so you can see the current glorious atmosphere of our Holy Sect?"
"Then I must thank Senior Brother."
Seeing the man's helpful appearance, Mo Wentian sneered inwardly but remained calm on the surface, expressing his gratitude with a thankful face.
Subsequently, the demonic cultivator led Mo Wentian around, introducing things incessantly as they walked:
"Brother, you've arrived at a good time. Under the brilliant leadership of the Holy Son, the Holy Sect has already unified the Demonic Path and awed the world."
"Because the previous buildings in the Sect were too crude and didn't fit the Holy Son's aesthetic, the Holy Son hired three thousand skilled craftsmen from the Chiquan Sect to completely rebuild the Holy Sect…"
Hearing this, Mo Wentian finally understood what was going on, and his heart grew increasingly suspicious and uncertain.
The current state of the Demonic Sect seemed quite different from what he had imagined.
Since entering the Demonic Sect, this wasn't the first time he had heard the title 'Holy Son,' yet he hadn't heard any demonic cultivator mention the current Sect Master of the Demonic Sect. Even those few Mahayana Demon Venerables seemed to have become transparent, possessing no presence at all…
In other words, everyone in the Demonic Sect now only knows the Holy Son and not the Sect Master. This situation is definitely not normal!
While Mo Wentian was lost in thought, a towering statue that reached into the clouds suddenly appeared before him.
The statue depicted a young man in flowing robes with an imposing Aura. His expression was calm and spirited, and every gesture exuded a domineering air that looked down upon the world.
"This is the statue of the Holy Son. To show respect for his majesty, the Holy Sect has designated the area within a hundred miles of the statue as a no-fly zone. Everyone, including the Sect Master and the several Demon Venerables, must go on foot when they visit to admire the Holy Son's heroic posture…"
Hearing the explanation, Mo Wentian's eyes widened, and he fell into a state of questioning his very existence.
A mere Saint's prestige had actually reached such a height? This was simply too bizarre.
A perfectly good Demonic Sect had been transformed into such an incongruous mess by a junior who had popped out of nowhere. This was simply outrageous!
What made Mo Wentian even angrier was that even he, the founding Grandmaster, had never enjoyed such noble treatment, yet a junior had taken over as the host. Wasn't this ridiculous?
At this thought, a flash of killing intent crossed Mo Wentian's eyes, and he immediately categorized this perverse Holy Son as a target that must be eliminated.
Through secret deduction, he had almost located the position of the Inheritance Hall. Just as he was about to find a way to confirm it, he heard the demonic cultivator beside him continue:
"Junior Brother Mo Nan, we've almost finished our tour. Other areas are too far from here, and there are many confidential places designated as restricted zones. You can explore them slowly after you join the Inner Sect…"
As he spoke, the demonic cultivator suddenly grinned and said to Mo Wentian with overflowing enthusiasm:
"Come on, I'll take you back to the Outer Sect now."
Here it comes!
Mo Wentian's eyes narrowed slightly, immediately detecting the other's ill intentions.
As expected, there is no such thing as free kindness in this world. This fellow's friendly behavior was all to make him let down his guard so he would foolishly jump into a trap.
He didn't feel the slightest bit of surprise at this; instead, he felt like he had returned to his comfort zone.
The Demonic Sect should be full of schemes, calculations, and mutual deception. Only the strong have the right to survive!
If fellow Disciples were all brotherly and harmonious, then why bother with the Demonic Path? One might as well just join those prestigious righteous Sects.
Thinking of this, Mo Wentian sneered inwardly, secretly deciding to show some mercy when the time came and leave a whole corpse for this descendant who hadn't yet abandoned his demonic heart…
Now that the Demonic Treasure he carried had recovered a trace of its power, he didn't need to worry about failing unless he encountered a top-tier powerhouse of the Mahayana Realm.
Though he was confident, he didn't show any flaw on his face, replying cheerfully:
"That's great, then thank you, Senior Brother."
"Don't mention it, Junior Brother, follow me."
Seeing the target take the bait, the smile on the demonic cultivator's face grew even wider. He politely gestured for him to follow and quickly led the way.
Thus, these two "friends," each with their own hidden motives, walked together, winding through various paths and soon arriving before a remote courtyard.
Scenting the faint traces of blood coming from the yard, Mo Wentian became even more certain of his guess, though he maintained a confused expression on the surface:
"Senior Brother, where is this?"
To Mo Wentian's surprise, even though he was currently acting "weak" enough to look like he had no room for resistance—a literal lamb to the slaughter.
The demonic cultivator who had brought him here didn't show any sign of wanting to suddenly attack to steal his treasures or turn hostile. Instead, he lowered his voice and leaned in mysteriously, saying:
"Junior Brother Mo, I see that we share a destiny, so I will kindly point you toward a stroke of good fortune."
As he spoke, he pointed to the courtyard ahead, speaking persuasively:
"This is the residence of a True Disciple of the Holy Sect. This True Disciple has quite a lot of experience in teaching newcomers. As long as you are willing to give up some insignificant things, you can receive personal guidance from a True Disciple of the Holy Sect. You might even obtain some secret techniques…"
Insignificant things?
Could the other person be planning to use him for refining some evil technique?
With that thought, Mo Wentian raised an eyebrow and said with an eager expression:
"Really? I happen to have encountered a Bottleneck recently and was worried about having no one to guide me. Senior Brother, you are truly my benefactor…"
