Chapter 96

There were seven Tokens in total. So far, Wang Lin held two from Li Shan, one from Xuandao Sect, one from Misty Sect, and one from Joyful Union Sect, totaling five pieces.

Excluding the one taken away by the Corpse Yin Sect, this means that out of the seven Tokens, only the last one is missing.

Wang Lin pondered for a moment. He had searched all the sects in Jueming Valley but had not found the last one. Of course, it was possible someone had hidden it elsewhere, but Wang Lin did not intend to search extensively. Holding five out of seven Tokens was enough; this basically guaranteed his entry into the Outer Realm Battlefield.

After stopping his consideration of the Tokens, Wang Lin immediately began planning his preparations for the battle two months later.

First was the Azure Rice-Grain Magic Treasure. After replenishing the one he had previously used, he now had three in total. Of these three, only one was a single, unfused item; the other two were powerful two-in-one Fusion Magic Treasures.

After carefully putting away the three Magic Treasures, Wang Lin pondered briefly, then opened his Storage Pouch and rummaged through it. He had killed many people recently and acquired quite a few Storage Pouches, so he still had many items left in his possession.

After searching for a long time, Wang Lin suddenly pulled out a Round Bead. It was much smaller than the Heaven Defying Stone Bead, only about one-tenth the size of a fist, and it was extremely smooth, without any patterns. There were also some fine cracks along the edges.

Picking up the Round Bead, Wang Lin couldn't help but recall the Eccentric Ah Dai. This bead was the first Magic Treasure the Eccentric Ah Dai had given him. Wang Lin sighed softly, put away his thoughts, and looked at the bead in his hand, his eyes flickering.

After a long while, the corner of his mouth curled up, revealing a sinister smile. He placed the bead back into his Storage Pouch. Done with this, he took a deep breath and spat out a beam of green light.

The green Flying Sword floated motionless before him.

Ever since Wang Lin felt the mutation of the Spiritual Qi within his body, controlling the Flying Sword always felt sluggish, unlike the ease he experienced before. Although the power of the Flying Sword had increased countless times due to the Spiritual Qi mutation, a Flying Sword that was difficult to control was absolutely unacceptable to Wang Lin.

Therefore, Wang Lin planned to use this time to Re-refine the Flying Sword.

Performing Hand Seals with both hands, Wang Lin shot out several streams of Spiritual Qi to envelop the Flying Sword. He then patted his Storage Pouch, and a Gourd appeared in his hand. Wang Lin was willing to spare no expense for his Blood Refinement Magic Treasures. Gritting his teeth, he opened the Gourd and poured out about one-third of the liquid inside.

With a wave of Wang Lin's hand, this liquid, filled with Cold and Yin Spiritual Qi, floated in midair and merged to form a fist-sized water droplet. Threads of Cold and Yin Qi diffused from within it, and a thin layer of frost instantly appeared on the walls of the surrounding Immortal Cave.

Wang Lin pointed at the water droplet, and it immediately moved, striking the tip of the green Flying Sword. It then flowed down from the sword tip like flowing water, quickly making the surface of the small green sword crystal clear.

Wang Lin took a deep breath, bit the tip of his tongue, and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. The moment the blood left his mouth, he rotated his right hand, and the ejected liquid immediately turned into a dense mist of blood, surging thickly toward the Flying Sword wrapped in the spiritual liquid.

The blood slowly permeated the spiritual liquid, and soon, the Spiritual Qi liquid enveloping the Flying Sword turned light red.

Wang Lin took a few breaths, bit the tip of his tongue again, and after spitting out blood, he used his index finger to draw several symbols within it. Each symbol he drew was flung toward the Flying Sword with a flick of his hand, imprinting itself upon it.

Gradually, the symbols accumulated. Before long, the blood was completely used up. Wang Lin glanced at the Flying Sword, then immediately slapped his chest. Spiritual Qi surged within his body, and then, pressing down on his chest, he spat out a mouthful of Heart Essence Blood.

Wang Lin's face was pale, but without hesitation, he immediately used the blood to draw symbols.

As the symbols increased and the Heart Essence Blood took effect, the Spiritual Qi liquid coating the Flying Sword slowly but surely turned dark red, even faintly purple.

After the last drop of blood transformed into a Talismanic Incantation and imprinted itself on the Flying Sword, Wang Lin focused his mind and shouted, "Merge!"

With a hum, the Flying Sword trembled violently. The sword body immediately began shaking continuously, and the frequency grew higher and higher. Wang Lin stared intently, looking serious, as he constantly changed his Hand Seals in the air with both hands.

Immediately afterward, the Spiritual Qi liquid covering it began to sizzle, as if being baked by an invisible fire, releasing wisps of white smoke. As the white smoke increased, the liquid gradually diminished.

Finally, the liquid completely vanished. Looking at the Flying Sword again, although its color was still green, several bloody streaks had appeared on its body. Furthermore, its size had significantly shrunk, becoming only half of its original size.

What surprised Wang Lin even more was that its hilt had almost completely disappeared. Previously, the ratio between the hilt and the blade was 1:5, but now it had nearly reached a ratio of 1:15. Essentially, the hilt could now be ignored.

Wang Lin did not know that this blood-refined sword of his was slowly undergoing an extreme transformation as his extreme realm consolidated.

This transformation, upon finally reaching the extreme realm, would cause the Flying Sword's attributes to reach the ultimate limit in a specific aspect, utilizing everything to the extreme.

For instance, Wang Lin tested it now and found that its speed was faster than before. If fully unleashed, given Wang Lin's current eyesight, he could no longer see the trace of the Flying Sword's flight. If combined with the Flying Sword's Teleportation, the terror of this Flying Sword was extraordinary.

At the very least, if a Core Formation Cultivator did not activate a Defensive Magic Treasure or wear Protective Armor, taking a hit from this sword would mean an unknown fate of life or death. This was the power of the extreme realm acting upon a Magic Treasure: breaking through the Magic Treasure's inherent limitations and pushing a single attribute to the maximum extent.

However, against a Nascent Soul Stage Cultivator, it was still severely lacking. After all, Wang Lin's current cultivation was only the Foundation Establishment Stage. Even with the extreme realm, he was still too weak.

The extreme realm would only be utilized to its maximum potential once he reached the Nascent Soul Stage; its true terror would unfold then.

The small green sword was now even more refined. Threads of Blue Ice Crystals appeared and vanished intermittently on the sword body, making it look quite mysterious and unpredictable.

Swallowing the Flying Sword into his Purple Mansion, Wang Lin's eyes flashed like lightning. Calculating with his fingers, he realized that this period of closed-door organization had taken one month. For the remaining month, Wang Lin planned to Cultivate inside the Heaven Defying Bead. He was confident that by the time he emerged from seclusion, his cultivation would be able to Breakthrough from the Foundation Establishment Early Stage to the Middle Stage.
