Donnie was the Celestials' lifelong nemesis. As long as the AllSpark existed, the Celestials had to face this humiliating reality: they could defeat Donnie by force, but could not kill him completely. If they dragged things out, they would be at an even greater disadvantage, eventually losing themselves. The more Donnie spoke, the colder the Celestials' hearts became.
