The facts proved that humans weren't afraid of being serious—they were afraid of being too serious. The worst thing was forcing what one believed to be the right ideals onto others during that process. Tony Stark was a perfect example. He firmly believed he was right: superhumans who wielded immense power should accept official oversight. Especially now that he was Secretary of Defense. With him there to mediate and coordinate, Tony believed everything would turn out well.
