Come, End-of-Arc Summary!

Come, end-of-arc summary!

I hadn’t even posted a launch statement before muddling my way through and writing all the way to this point.

Zhang Ye’s appearance had finally matched the book cover too, haha.

Thinking about it now, it was quite emotional. Yesterday, when I opened the book’s details page, I was suddenly surprised by how much I’d already written. It felt like the plot should have only just begun.

I think a good book should be something people can read over and over, like those veteran webnovel authors. No matter when you go back and revisit it, it should still give you that thrilling, blood-pumping rush. That’s what I’m trying to learn.

I used to think writing was pretty easy. Wasn’t it just telling a story? I could do it too.

But now, I’ve realized that I’ve only just stepped through the door. I still have so much to learn. Plots that some people can casually write might take me ages to deliberate over before I can describe them. The satisfying moments they can toss out so effortlessly might need several more chapters of buildup from me to have any effect.

Little by little, my writing speed has slowed down. I used to finish a chapter in an hour; now, after two hours of polishing, I can finally hand in a perfect answer.

It’s tiring, but it feels great too.

I’d heard this motivational saying before: if you feel tired, that means you’re making progress.

Let’s not worry about whether that motivational saying has poison in it. At least I can feel that I really am improving step by step, and seeing the comments from all of you—especially the positive ones—makes me incredibly happy.

First, I’d like to thank my editor, Guang Da, for being willing to sign me and pull me out of the ocean.

Even more thanks to Xiao Ye Zi Mie for the tips and for recommending this book elsewhere. Thanks to Xin Yan Guang Sheng, Xiao Yue Feng Lang, and the other know-it-alls who had been with me from the very beginning, constantly sharing trivia and adding illustrations in the book. Thanks as well to everyone who checked in on every one of my chapter titles.

And thanks to those brothers who were stockpiling chapters and couldn’t read this one right away, hehe.

Thank you all sincerely for your support!

Now that we’re at the end-of-arc summary, Zhang Ye’s story had finally passed through its first stage. What awaited him next would be an even stranger and more mysterious world.

Stay tuned.
