Constellation of Martial Immortals: Skylark

"Mr. Skylark, don’t look so incredulous."

Charanko stood in the air, his disheveled golden hair whipping wildly in the wind, giving him an entirely different bearing.

His eyelids drooped as he looked down at Skylark, who was falling through the air while spraying blood everywhere, and said,

"You were willing to save me only because you thought I was weak…"

"Even after I received the gods’ blessing, you still thought I wasn’t as strong as you, didn’t you?"

Skylark clutched his chest. His internal organs had been scorched, and his consciousness was rapidly beginning to blur. Yet, with his Cosmo concentrated, his mind grew ever more active, and his powerful Mental Power forcibly stabilized his awareness.

Blood still gushed from his mouth and nose. In his heart, the kind yet humble Charanko from before was gradually becoming completely unrecognizable.

Charanko spread his hands and watched Mercenary Tao swiftly rise from the ground after falling on the other side. He grabbed the man whose head had just exploded again, and his displeasure deepened.

Even after obtaining Divine Power, neither Skylark nor his own teacher had truly acknowledged him.

Neither of them recognized his strength. It seemed that, in their eyes, no matter how much he changed, he was still the same weak person as before.

When he could now clearly destroy an entire city…

Step, step, step.

In the desert, Mercenary Tao walked across the sand while carrying Sage Yu Huaxin. With every step, he slid dozens of meters forward. Using this strange method of movement, he arrived not far from Skylark.

This powerful Reincarnator who had mastered Cosmo was trying to stabilize his injuries.

"Ally of Justice always fall in places like this, don’t they?"

He smiled cruelly, his tone mocking.

All those people who called themselves "righteous" were always bound by countless additional restraints.

So here was the question: could someone burdened by so many restraints truly be called strong?

Bai Cangshu shook his head. In his understanding, such people could never be considered strong.

Bzzz—

A white beam shot over in an instant. Bai Cangshu casually slid sideways as if taking a leisurely stroll, and the sand exploded. This sort of long-range attack was not very effective against him.

Charanko landed on the ground again.

In the distance, that multicolored space appeared once more. Clearly, the Spirit World was expanding. The Spirit World Evil Lord had come here while pursuing something, and even the two powerful Martial Artists of this world had been unable to stop it.

As Bai Cangshu considered this, Charanko frowned at Sage Yu Huaxin, who occupied one of Bai Cangshu’s arms.

His figure shifted slightly. White light pulsed with an eerie rhythm. He suddenly lowered his body, and in the next instant, appeared before Bai Cangshu like a skipped frame in an animation.

White energy exploded behind him.

Charanko’s speed in this state was already close to Bai Cangshu’s when he activated the fifth stage of Moment.

Bai Cangshu opened God’s Right Eye. With one hand, he instantly blocked Charanko’s arm, swept downward to deflect the force of the punch, and pulled away again.

But Charanko thought he had found Mercenary Tao’s weakness. Looking at Sage Yu Huaxin, still tightly held even in such a situation, a malicious impulse suddenly rose within him.

In a single instant, he moved like a shadow, his right fist piercing the air as it struck toward Sage Yu Huaxin’s head.

Sage Yu Huaxin only felt the air before him become incomparably viscous in an instant. Even with his current physique, he struggled to breathe. Having lost that near-Saint-level body, his heart and lungs could not breathe such thick air.

Bang!

A fist smashed his head apart at a speed he could not possibly perceive.

Blood splattered everywhere.

Bai Cangshu stopped and looked at the headless corpse in his hand. Judging by the clothing, it was probably an office worker.

He tossed it away without interest and caught Sage Yu Huaxin, who had reappeared in the air.

Just as he was about to give chase, Charanko had already transformed into a streak of white light and pierced Sage Yu Huaxin in midair.

Pfft!

Pfft!

Pfft!

"How is it, Mercenary Tao? Against me as I am now, even someone like you can’t protect him, can you…"

"This is… the Power of God!"

"Even if he revives countless times, it’s useless against me, who possesses infinite power!"

Charanko seemed to be venting the anger he had felt from being ignored by them earlier. White light bullets filled the sky, while white trails burst forth from his ultra-high-speed movements. In an instant, Sage Yu Huaxin was killed hundreds of times.

Yu Huaxin had fallen into complete panic. Damn it, this guy was too fast—far too fast at killing him!

His consciousness was also becoming fragmented. Every time he revived, he would only exist for a few hundredths of a second before being killed again.

Trapped in constantly distorted perceptions, he could not even defend himself.

Bai Cangshu, meanwhile, stood where he was. With Moment activated, the cells throughout his body had been fully awakened, yet he eerily maintained a completely motionless posture.

He stroked his chin and watched Charanko diligently killing Sage Yu Huaxin over and over in the sky, considering whether he ought to clear up this subtle misunderstanding.

"His ability is Substitute Death?!"

A voice suddenly rang in Bai Cangshu’s ear. He turned and saw Skylark, whose mouth and nose were completely covered in blood and whose condition looked utterly miserable, staring at him.

His body seemed to be shrouded in a layer of radiance.

Bai Cangshu frowned. Skylark in this state gave him an extremely dangerous feeling.

"Heh, to kill that guy, we’d probably have to repeat this dozens of thousands of times. But with Charanko’s efficiency, I don’t think it’ll take too long."

Skylark’s brows furrowed tightly. He struggled to his feet and looked at the mutilated corpses raining down from the sky. Every time Charanko killed that man, the corpse would turn into a completely unfamiliar person.

There were men, women, old people, and children.

Clearly, this was a powerful Substitute Death ability. His own death could be transferred onto others.

In other words, in just this brief time, Charanko had actually killed hundreds of people?!

Supported by an intensely burning Cosmo, Skylark’s bodily functions rapidly awakened. He stood up and was just about to make a move when a tall figure appeared before him.

Bai Cangshu looked down at this Reincarnator who, in theory, had already been severely injured and was on the verge of death. Yet at this moment, the other man radiated an intense sense of presence. Within Bai Cangshu’s Mantra, he was like a blazing torch.

"Mercenary Tao, are you planning to kill that guy by slaughtering hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of humans?!"

Bai Cangshu nodded as though it were only natural.

"It’s convenient, isn’t it…"

"Maybe you don’t know, but I killed an Ajin before. Compared to that, this guy is already pretty easy to kill~"

Skylark exhaled a foul breath. He felt that it was impossible to communicate effectively with Mercenary Tao. Though they were probably both part of the hero faction now, a person like Mercenary Tao had absolutely nothing to do with heroes.

He suddenly spread his hands apart, one raised and one lowered, one left and one right, slowly brushing them through the air as his body bent slightly. Since one of his arms had been severed at the elbow, his posture looked quite strange.

From behind him, Bai Cangshu saw specks of light formed by concentrated Cosmo light up one after another. In the blink of an eye, they formed the shape of a constellation.

This guy…

Clearly, his Cosmo level was even higher than Bai Cangshu had imagined. He had actually comprehended the technique of a particular constellation. This practically meant that he was qualified to truly wear a Cloth and become a Saint Seiya.

Bai Cangshu could not suppress the smile on his face as he watched this ability. He too spread his hands apart, swaying them slightly up and down.

In an instant, Moment surged to the seventh stage. This was the highest speed he could currently control. If he forcibly activated the eighth stage, he would not even be able to complete Shun Goku Satsu.

The Satsui no Hado that had seemed to vanish earlier surged out from Bai Cangshu’s body at this moment. In an instant, heaven and earth abruptly turned black.
