Crushing Defeat
"Too weak. I didn’t even use thirty percent of my strength."
Having easily dealt with the Blood Demon God, Wang Bert sighed with an expression of lonely arrogance. This transformation had brought earth-shaking changes to his strength.
That was also why Wang Bert had needed time to regain control of his body.
Next, Wang Bert beckoned, and the small world within the Blood Demon God appeared in his hand. Worth mentioning was that the Vengeful Souls were still there.
"The Blood Demon God is dead. Go in peace."
Wang Bert spoke, but the Vengeful Souls did not leave. They pointed at the remaining humans in the small world, knelt on the ground, and pleaded bitterly with Wang Bert.
These Vengeful Souls hoped Wang Bert would spare the humans inside and not continue enslaving them like the Blood Demon God had.
"Though I call myself a god, I’ve never had any interest in truly being one. I have other uses for this small world. Once the war is over, I’ll move these people to a new plane and set them free."
Wang Bert did not intend to bring these people back to the Main Universe. Dimensional lifeforms were somewhat different from those of the Main Universe, so large-scale migration was unsuitable.
Hearing this, the Vengeful Souls bowed to Wang Bert one after another, then flew into the Space Channel to reincarnate in Hell.
Wang Bert then put away the small world and returned to the void, just in time to see Serpent God Set swallow Elektra whole.
"Slave, let’s see how you escape this time!"
Seth cursed furiously. Previously, no matter what He did, He could not kill Elektra. He had been so furious that He attacked madly. Elektra had grown too complacent and let down her guard, allowing Him to ambush and swallow her whole.
Seth was indeed enraged, but as an ancient god who had lived for who knew how many years, how could He possibly lose His reason so easily?
Having successfully achieved His goal, Seth was in high spirits. Elektra had been completely devoured by Him. Even if she could resurrect, it would be useless—after reviving, she would still be inside Seth’s body, and there would be only one outcome: being swallowed again.
Seeing this, Wang Bert did not intervene and merely smiled calmly. The next moment, Elektra appeared beside him and said with a laugh, "Master, that idiot thinks I’d stupidly resurrect inside his body. He’s so pleased with himself that his eyes are practically disappearing from all the grinning."
Wang Bert glanced at Seth and laughed. "He really is rather stupid."
Seth froze, both confused and enraged. He asked, "Why is this happening? Don’t you resurrect on the spot?"
"Why should I tell you?"
Elektra smiled disdainfully. Ever since being defeated by Wang Bert, she had been studying the flaws in her resurrection and devising ways to resolve them.
During the earlier battle, Elektra had left many strands of hair in the void. After Seth swallowed her, she immediately turned herself to ashes with flames, then chose a nearby strand of hair as the point of resurrection.
That was why Elektra had appeared beside Wang Bert.
Worth mentioning was that God’s Cloak had also returned to Elektra. Seth was not His true body and possessed only a small portion of the Devouring Concept, so He could not seal God’s Cloak for long.
"Elektra, well done. You completed the task I assigned you perfectly. After the war, I’ll reward you properly."
Wang Bert kissed Elektra on the cheek and spoke with satisfaction. Elektra beamed and said, "Thank you, Master. It was nothing, really. The enemy was too stupid, so there wasn’t much difficulty."
Watching this shameless pair flaunt themselves, Seth gritted His teeth in fury. He was a dignified ancient god—when had He ever suffered such humiliation? First, He had been blocked by a mere slave, then ignored by the Blood God.
Seth said resentfully, "Blood God, I will swallow you whole someday."
"The last person who said that is already in my stomach."
Wang Bert sneered and turned toward the void. "Are you done yet?"
"Done. I hit a little too hard and blew the Lizard Dragon God apart, so cleaning up took a bit longer."
The Dragon Soul Clone flew back from the distance with a smile. The Lizard Dragon God had already been beaten to death by him. Furthermore, he had obtained the Lizard Dragon God’s corpse and the other half of the authority.
The Dragon Soul Clone felt that there had been no difficulty at all. It had been a complete stomp.
Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. Come back. Seth is an ancient god, so we should show him some respect and go all out."
"You’re right. We must show respect to our elders, especially since he’s lived for so long."
The Dragon Soul Clone nodded and returned to Wang Bert’s body. Seeing this, Elektra removed God’s Cloak and returned it to Wang Bert, but Wang Bert gestured that there was no need.
Wang Bert had already absorbed three-quarters of the Space Stone. He was now a master of space, and God’s Cloak was basically useless to him.
Elektra respectfully withdrew. Her task was complete; all that remained was to watch the battle.
The exchange between Wang Bert and the Dragon Soul Clone made Seth even more furious. He said, "What arrogant youngsters. I’ll show you just how terrifying ancient gods truly are."
After saying that, Seth’s seven heads simultaneously traveled through space and appeared around Wang Bert, savagely biting at him and the surrounding void. Spiderweb-like cracks spread through the void like shattered glass, an utterly terrifying sight.
Wang Bert snorted coldly and shattered the cracked void with a backhand strike. Seth was startled and hurriedly avoided the incoming Space Storm.
Wang Bert’s figure suddenly vanished, hiding within a fragment of space. Then, he appeared beside one of the serpent heads and slashed down with his right hand wreathed in spatial cracks.
Void Slash.
Seth’s head was sliced off by Wang Bert as easily as tofu. At the same time, a deadly poison enveloped Seth’s wound, preventing Him from regenerating.
Seth’s other six heads immediately spat enormous green beams at Wang Bert. Meanwhile, the severed serpent head flew back toward the wound on His neck, and the poison rapidly disintegrated under the power of the Serpent God.
Competing with Seth in poison? What a joke. Did they not know Seth was the ancestor of all poison users?
Wang Bert circled his hands and drew the void together. Seth’s six green beams slammed violently into each other. Immediately afterward, a blaze capable of burning all things erupted from Seth’s injured neck, turning His serpent head and neck to ash.
It was not over yet. Wang Bert’s figure blurred, splitting into six, and he simultaneously cut off five of Seth’s heads. Only the head wearing the Serpent Crown escaped by traveling through the void with the treasure’s aid.
As Seth rapidly regenerated, He stared solemnly at Wang Bert. The Blood God’s strength had completely exceeded His expectations. No wonder the Blood Demon God and Lizard Dragon God had fallen so quickly.
"Serpent God Set, are you still planning to keep playing around?"
Wang Bert said coldly, "Get serious. I want to see just how strong an ancient god’s projection really is."
Elektra, standing nearby, was greatly surprised. "Playing around? Master, isn’t this His projection?"
"Of course not. How could an ancient god’s projection be so weak?"
Wang Bert smiled. "This is merely a portion of Seth’s projection’s power."
"That’s right. It is merely a portion of my power. Earth has a Defense Net, so I cannot descend personally. Thus, I sent a conscious portion of my power into Viper and formed an avatar."
Seth said coldly, "Compared to my projection, this avatar is naturally insignificant, but it is more than enough to deal with gods and demons like the Blood Demon God and Skeleton God.
"I thought this avatar would be enough, but I never expected you, Blood God, to be so powerful."
Wang Bert smiled. "I’m modest by nature. You can’t tell from my appearance."
"You have reached the peak of the divine level and are only one step away from becoming an ancient god. Ordinary gods and demons are no match for you."
Seth looked at Wang Bert and said, "Blood God, you have grown far too quickly. If you had been a born god or demon, that would be one thing, but you are merely a mortal creature. I truly do not understand how you could have grown this fast."
Wang Bert shrugged. "The reason is simple. I am God reincarnated."
Elektra was speechless. "You’re using that lie to fool people again? Who would believe it?"
The next moment, Seth nodded. "So that’s how it is. No wonder you grew so quickly. No wonder you can control the Godly Armament. God, your disappearance back then must have involved some agreement with Ancient One, correct?"
Elektra could not help silently complain, Someone actually believes such an outrageous lie?
"Perhaps."
Wang Bert smiled. "Enough nonsense, Seth. Either leave, or summon your projection so we can have a proper battle. I just broke through, and I really want to know how strong I am now."
"Then it seems you have not recovered your memories from your previous life."
Seth sneered. "Otherwise, you would know the immense gap between ordinary gods and ancient gods. Blood God, since you wish to die, I will grant your wish."
Wang Bert said, "I cannot die. As long as I wish to leave, no one can stop me. Seth, you are destined to become my whetstone."
Seth was somewhat irritated. With Wang Bert’s strength and the Space Stone, even if His projection descended, He was not confident He could kill him.
The Space Stone was simply too overpowered.
Seth stopped wasting words and drew the power of His projection into Himself. Immediately afterward, His body expanded wildly, and His aura surged. Even time and space became somewhat distorted.
Elektra could not help swallowing. Was this the might of an ancient god? Just then, two enormous spatial phantoms appeared behind Wang Bert. The one on the left led to the Dragon World, and world power transformed into dragon energy, pouring madly into his body.
The one on the right led to countless layers of Hell. Vast amounts of Hell Power transformed into rolling Black Qi and surged into Wang Bert’s body as if it cost nothing.
Next, Spear of God appeared out of thin air in Wang Bert’s hand. He shouted and hurled Spear of God at Seth with all his strength, drawing upon his own power and the power of the two spaces. Spear of God directly transcended time and space, plunging into Seth’s body.
From Elektra’s perspective, the instant Wang Bert raised his hand, Spear of God had already pierced through Seth’s body.
Seth stared at Wang Bert in disbelief. After a moment, He roared, "Blood God, you tricked me!"
As He roared, Seth’s body rapidly cracked apart. Blinding holy light shone from the fissures, illuminating the void.
Before long, Seth would be completely purified by the holy light.
"So what if I tricked you?"
Wang Bert sneered. His talk of an all-out battle had been an act. His goal was simple: make Seth lower His guard and bring down His projection, then seize the chance to ambush Him.
Elektra said admiringly, "Master, you’re amazing. You played the enemy like a fiddle."
"Of course."
Wang Bert laughed heartily. "Elektra, remember this: use your brain in battle. Don’t be like that idiot over there."
Elektra nodded. "Master, I understand. I definitely won’t be like that idiot over there."
Seth was so enraged He nearly exploded, yet there was nothing He could do to Wang Bert. He gritted His teeth and said, "Blood God, you ambushed one of my projections. This isn’t over."
"You invaded Earth and caused the deaths of so many people. It is not you who is finished with me—it is I who am finished with you."
Wang Bert sneered. "Go die obediently. In the future, I will find your true body and have a good talk with it."
"I’ll be waiting for you."
Seth roared, and His enormous body turned to ash in the holy light. The Serpent Crown slipped into space, trying to escape, but Wang Bert grabbed through the air and pulled it into his hand.
The Serpent Crown struggled violently, but it could not resist Wang Bert’s strength at all. Wang Bert stored it inside the Mind Stone and ordered, "Control it for me and make it acknowledge me as its master. If you can’t, I’ll sacrifice your energy and force it to acknowledge me."
"…"
The Mind Stone silently cursed Wang Bert in its heart, then obediently began to "reform" the Serpent Crown.
Meanwhile, in the small space, Hulk and the other two were fighting the sea of skeletons summoned by the Skeleton God.
Hulk was unstoppable. Every swing of his hammer smashed hundreds of skeletons to pieces. Strange’s magic was profound as he controlled a magical fan that spun rapidly around them, swiftly harvesting skeletons.
Damon was the flashiest of all. Riding the Blue Fire Chariot, he charged forward wildly, and every skeleton in his path was reduced to ashes.
Even though the three were so formidable, the sea of skeletons remained endless. While continuously summoning skeletons, the Skeleton God shouted viciously, "The three of you dare challenge me? I will show you the consequences of offending a god."
"What consequences? Having so much bone soup every day that you can’t finish it? That really is miserable."
Hulk mocked him, then rapidly spun with his hammer. Countless skeletons were smashed flying in all directions, shattered to pieces.
"Good idea. Once I capture you, I’ll make you drink bone soup forever—until you vomit, until you die."
The Skeleton God laughed loudly. Strange and Damon were both speechless. The Chaos Demon God truly had something wrong with His head.
Just then, a serpent-shaped ray of light suddenly flew into the small space and entered Hulk’s forehead with lightning speed.
This was the final wisp of consciousness from Seth’s projection. He simply could not swallow this humiliation and intended to show Wang Bert what He could do.
The instant the consciousness entered Hulk’s forehead, massive fury surged within Hulk, and he wanted nothing more than to smash everything around him.
"You should not disguise yourself as a human. You are the embodiment of rage. You are an enraged beast."
Seth used Mind Power to influence Hulk’s consciousness. "Open your mind. Cast off your restraints. Let the whole world see the real you. Let the entire world submit beneath your feet."
As Seth’s voice echoed, Hulk’s eyes gradually turned red, and his already massive body expanded once more, looking especially savage.
Hulk roared, and the power of fury filled the entire area. Nearby skeletons could not withstand the pressure and exploded one after another, their bones raining down onto the void floor with a series of crackles.
Strange and Damon were both startled. Was Hulk about to go berserk? Just then, Hulk raised his right hand, picked his nose with his pinky, and asked, "That’s it?"
