Dark Lord, Sword Draws Royal Power
"Odin, you were wrong!"
"From now on, Asgard’s future will be rewritten by me!"
Holding the Eternal Spear Gungnir and clad in the Light Goddess Armor, Hela, her divinity transcendent, extended her right hand. Dozens of beams condensed from Light Divine Power erupted from her palm in an instant.
They tore through the sky, illuminating the cloud-covered Sky Dome as they all bombarded Odin.
Boom! The God of Gods, King of Asgard, God of War, an invincible being, was blasted away and slammed viciously into the ground. Even his armor shattered.
The Asgardian golden-armored guards’ expressions changed drastically at the sight.
But Odin waved a hand, and the soldiers did not make any moves. They merely watched in silence.
"I won," Hela said. It was the first time in her life that she had defeated Odin, her omnipotent father.
Though Odin had not used the Odin Force and had sealed away ninety percent of his power.
A win was a win. That was their wager.
"Yes, you won, Hela."
Odin sat on the ground, seeming out of breath, yet there was a trace of gratification in his eyes. It was as if all his former ambitions and desires had vanished in an instant, as though he had attained enlightenment and let go of every knot in his heart.
In truth, if Ye Wen had not shown Odin the future of another Universe, Odin’s arrogance would never have allowed him to release Hela so easily.
If Ragnarok was inevitable, then at the very least, they could begin making amends now.
This duel was actually a step down, a test meant to restore Hela’s name and strength.
Though Odin had seen the truth, as a father and the God of Gods, no matter what, he could not apologize to Hela.
So he could only let Hela defeat him. Moreover, from the very beginning, he had sensed within Hela a Light Divine Power completely opposite to the Power of Death. Though this power was extremely weak, once it awakened, she would become an even more powerful god.
As the God of Gods, even after sealing ninety percent of his power and refraining from using the Odin Force, Odin was not someone Hela, who had only just awakened, could defeat. There was only one possibility: Odin had held back.
And the Eternal Spear—how could it truly acknowledge Hela in her current state as its master? It was a weapon belonging to a God King. Even one with the divine status of the Goddess of Light could not control it.
"Since that is the case, leave Earth. I do not want Asgard disturbing this place," Hela said.
"Of course. Asgard will not interfere in the affairs of any civilization. They have their own destinies.
"Hela, your exile is over. Whether you return to Asgard or remain here is now your own decision."
Leaving those words behind, Odin activated the Bifrost and departed with his subordinates.
Everyone watched the rainbow pillar shoot into the heavens until it vanished completely.
Besides Ye Wen, Kong, and Godzilla, Ancient One was also present.
Ancient One withdrew the Mirror Space and smiled. "Since King Odin has left, I believe I can leave as well."
He had truly been worried that Odin would start a massive battle. If that happened, the entire Earth might have been shattered.
After all, as a top-tier Celestial Father-level existence, Odin’s strength was simply too terrifying.
Celestial Father was a title among the gods of the Universe. Many could be called Celestial Fathers, but the gap in strength between them was enormous. Odin was one of the strongest among them.
"Ancient One, don’t be in such a hurry to leave. Stay in Foshan and have some tea," Ye Wen said.
"Tea?" Ancient One froze.
"Yes, Foshan’s afternoon tea is quite good too," Ye Wen said.
"Uh… all right."
Ancient One nodded and agreed.
Though he safeguarded Earth’s peace as the Supreme Mage, he was actually quite idle most of the time.
And having lived for centuries, Ancient One was lonely. He also wanted someone he could talk to.
Ye Wen was very suitable for that, and Ancient One was curious why Ye Wen was so powerful. He was clearly human and not a Mystic Arts Master, yet he seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
In Foshan, there was a teahouse brimming with the atmosphere of everyday life. People came and went, and all sorts of people sat at the tables, chatting and laughing freely in a warm, harmonious atmosphere.
This was Wu Chi Lin’s restaurant, run by someone who greatly admired Ye Wen’s kung fu. It was also the most authentic place in all of Foshan.
Ye Wen had Wu Chi Lin prepare the house-special tea snacks, then reserved an elegant private room filled with antique charm. The air was rich with the pleasant scent of aged sandalwood, while curling smoke floated like a canvas in the air.
"Want one, Ancient One?"
Ye Wen took out a cigarette and offered it to Ancient One. Ancient One was surprised. He felt that Ye Wen possessed the bearing of a grandmaster, detached from the mundane world. Why would he smoke something like this? Though that was what he thought, Ancient One still accepted the white cigarette and snapped his fingers, lighting it automatically.
Ye Wen’s cigarette lit up as well. The two took a deep drag in tacit understanding, exhaling clouds of smoke as they smiled without speaking.
"Master, I want to try one too," Hela said.
"Go on, go on. Children can’t smoke." Ye Wen casually waved his hand.
Godzilla and Kong sat opposite them.
Kong peeled a banana for Godzilla. Godzilla gave Kong a haughty glance, then instantly vaporized the banana with Atomic Breath.
"…" Kong.
Because Kong and Godzilla were far too conspicuous, Ancient One cast a minor perception spell so ordinary people would not find anything strange.
Hela was somewhat annoyed. "Master, I’m already over a thousand years old. I’m not a child."
"By Asgardian customs, someone over a thousand years old is still a child. You may have only just reached adulthood," Ancient One added.
"Agreed." Ye Wen nodded and took another drag.
He was not truly interested in cigarettes either. He had simply gained some recent insights and unconsciously started smoking. The taste was not bad; it could clear the mind and cast away distracting thoughts.
"Master Ye, I feel that you are a very interesting person," Ancient One said with a smile.
"Haha, my wife says I’m old-fashioned and have no sense of romance," Ye Wen said.
"Really?" Ancient One asked in surprise.
"Ancient One, I can sense a rather dark divine power within you. That should not be your power, should it?" Hela asked.
"Yes, it belongs to…" Ancient One’s expression hesitated. Before a god like Hela, it was difficult for him to hide his power.
"It belongs to Dormammu, Lord of the Dark Dimension," Ye Wen said.
"Uh… that makes sense. Master Ye knows about another Universe, so he must know my secret as well," Ancient One said.
"Dormammu? That thing really exists? I thought it was only a legend," Hela said in surprise.
The records of Asgard contained many secrets of the Universe, including its major races, ancient Celestials, and even Dimension Lords.
Dormammu was the ruler of the Dark Dimension and possessed nearly limitless power.
The planets ruled by darkness were countless!
"It exists. Like humans, the Universe has never existed as a single entity. Besides the Sacred Timeline, there are countless Time Branches. Every Time Branch is a Parallel Reality Spacetime. Perhaps a single thought can lead to a new ending," Ancient One said.
"Human strength has its limits. The flesh is too fragile, and life spans are too short.
"As the Supreme Mage, my duty is to protect Earth from supernatural invasions. Before the next Supreme Mage appears, I cannot die.
"So, through a certain ritual, I stole dark divine power from Dormammu to sustain my life."
As he spoke, a black trident-like mark appeared between Ancient One’s brows, only to vanish in an instant.
"It can’t be helped. Humans really are fragile. After all, unlike Asgardians, they cannot live for thousands of years," Hela said.
"Ahem." Ye Wen coughed, reminding Hela not to speak carelessly.
Ancient One did not mind.
"What about you, Master Ye? I cannot see through you. You are clearly human, so why do you possess such tremendous power?" Ancient One continued.
Ye Wen’s expression turned solemn. "Uh… the key is self-discipline. Exercise every day, persist day and night, and never slack off."
"Heh…" Ancient One smiled without saying anything.
Though human potential was limitless, no matter how much potential someone had, it was difficult to surpass the limits of humanity.
Unless they borrowed external power, such as genetic mutation, Super Serum, radiation, or assistance from an exoskeleton suit.
If training alone could allow someone to reach Ye Wen’s realm of strength, then what was the point of Supreme Mages like him?
With that kind of talent, Earth would be unstoppable throughout the entire Universe.
Seeing Ancient One’s smile, Ye Wen helplessly scratched his head and said, "Fine. Actually, I can grow stronger just by basking in the sun."
"? Master Ye, I may not be well-read, but don’t lie to me." Ancient One did not believe him at all and took a sip of fragrant tea.
"??" Hela fell silent. Grow stronger by basking in the sun? Was there really such a good deal?
"Master Ye, are these two little cuties your disciples too?" Ancient One looked at Godzilla and Kong.
"Yes. What about it?" Ye Wen asked.
"I see that their bones are extraordinary. They have the makings of magic practitioners," Ancient One said.
"…" Master Ye fell silent.
Was he trying to poach his disciples? Or what?
Fox Demon World.
At the Southern Kingdom border, within the territory of Poison Master, one of the Five Venoms Bodyguards.
At this moment, several hundred little demons stared fearfully at the enormous object in the sky. They lay prostrate on the ground, trembling, some even wetting themselves in terror.
Visible to the naked eye, an aircraft carrier roughly three hundred meters long hovered in the air. Like a steel behemoth, it radiated an overwhelming presence.
Dongfang Huaizhu, Tushan Yaya and her sister, Hui Tai Lang, and Xu Yi stood atop it.
They made no movements, but the aura of the aircraft carrier had already shattered the little demons’ psychological defenses. They had no thought of resisting.
Though the aircraft carrier had been built by Hui Tai Lang by hand, its effects were no different from a real one. Its performance might even have been more perfect, because no one knew what special functions Hui Tai Lang had added to it.
"My lord, may I ask how this little demon has offended you? Please forgive me!"
Though Poison Master was one of the Five Venoms Bodyguards and possessed at least Little Demon King-level combat power, he could sense the terrifying aura of the aircraft carrier and the presence of those standing on it. He did not dare rashly confront them head-on.
Dongfang Huaizhu stepped forward, her beautiful eyes sharp as she shouted, "Demon, you captured my sister. And you say you have not offended us?"
Poison Master looked over from afar and immediately saw the Divine Fire Mark on Dongfang Huaizhu’s forehead. His heart sank sharply. "Heroine, it is a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. This little demon failed to recognize greatness and did indeed capture your younger sister. However, this little demon greatly admires the old hero Dongfang of Shenhuo Villa, so I did not harm your sister. I have been treating her well with food and drink."
Poison Master was extremely humble. He had not expected that capturing Dongfang Qinlan would bring about this disaster.
"You, a demon, admire the Dongfang hero?" Dongfang Huaizhu’s gaze was suspicious.
Most demons deeply hated Shenhuo Villa. Pure Yang Flame was the nemesis of demonkind, and who knew how many demons it had burned to death? How could any demon admire Shenhuo Villa?
"Heroine, you may not know this, but we demons of the Southern Kingdom are unlike the disorderly demons outside who specialize in causing destruction. We are good demons and rarely harm people," Poison Master explained.
"Then weren’t the people of the border town captured by you?" Dongfang Huaizhu questioned.
Cold sweat poured down Poison Master’s face as he continued explaining, "We demons do not understand carpentry or construction. Heroine, I want to build a large house to marry a wife. So I could only capture humans to build it for me. If I did not resort to this, humans would never work for demons.
"Besides, I paid them properly and did not withhold a single coin. As the royal uncle of the Southern Kingdom, I, Poison Master, have a certain moral bottom line."
As he spoke, Dongfang Qinlan emerged from a distant cave under the guidance of two little demons. She held a chicken leg in one hand and a colorful lollipop in the other. Her cheeks were rosy, and her little face had grown rounder. It seemed she had eaten quite well during her captivity.
"Qinlan."
Seeing her sister, Dongfang Huaizhu could not hold herself back and flew down to embrace Dongfang Qinlan.
"Big Sister."
When Dongfang Qinlan saw her sister, she immediately hugged Dongfang Huaizhu. Though she had only been imprisoned for one night, it had truly felt like years.
"I told you to study your spells properly. Now look at you, getting captured." Dongfang Huaizhu spoke irritably, tears glimmering at the corners of her eyes.
"Big Sister, I know I was wrong." Dongfang Qinlan stuck out her tongue playfully.
"Heroine, can we let this matter go now?" Poison Master asked tremblingly.
"You damned demon, take this!"
Dongfang Qinlan clenched her little fist and punched Poison Master in the face, turning all six of his eyes black like panda eyes.
"Ow, little ancestor, spare me!" Poison Master wailed miserably, not daring to fight back.
He could clearly distinguish between suffering a superficial injury and losing his life!
Dongfang Huaizhu was kind-hearted and knew that the demon before her was not utterly evil, so she said, "Forget it, Qinlan. Since you are unharmed, do not torture him anymore. Just send him flying into the sky."
"??" Poison Master.
"!!!" Dongfang Qinlan.
"I’m joking. Just blow up two of his eyes. A small punishment to serve as a warning," Dongfang Huaizhu said with a smile.
"No, please! My eyes are the only adornment on this handsome face. If any one of them is damaged, I’ll be disfigured."
Poison Master hurriedly explained, only to discover that there was no one left before him.
Dongfang Huaizhu had already taken Dongfang Qinlan’s hand and flown toward the aircraft carrier.
"Phew! That scared me to death." Poison Master let out a breath of relief.
Soon, the Hui Tai Lang Aircraft Carrier vanished into the Sky Dome.
The pressure in Poison Master’s heart disappeared, and he prepared to continue the construction work on his house.
Yet at some point, the ordinary people he had captured had already vanished. Only a figure in white, wearing a smiling mask, stood there.
"Kid, who are you? Playing tricks?" Poison Master said rudely.
"Poison Master, you unlawfully imprisoned ordinary humans at the Southern Kingdom border. What crime do you deserve?" the Masked Man in white asked. His voice sounded gentle, yet carried a detached chill.
"It didn’t concern you before, but now it does!"
As he spoke, the man in white held a long sword with a golden hilt. With a flick of his finger, the sword rang out like a Dragon Roar. Terrifying sword qi shot into the heavens and cleaved apart the white clouds of the Sky Dome.
