Deadpool Carnage Marvel Universe!
"When did this happen?" Zhang Ye silently lit himself a cigarette and asked.
"I can’t be sure, but this killing spree seemed to have started before we came to this universe. I only recently heard people talking about it. Someone must have concealed the heroes’ deaths and blocked all information related to this." Kara spoke slowly.
At that, Zhang Ye sharply exhaled a puff of smoke. His mind rapidly sifted through comics about heroes being slaughtered, and after comparing them with this universe’s circumstances, a title quickly surfaced in his mind—Deadpool Carnage Marvel Universe: Retribution!
In superhero comics, aside from stories centered on heroes punishing evil and upholding justice, there was no shortage of comics where heroes died noble deaths or were brutally slaughtered. Setting aside other universes like DC, the superheroes of the Marvel Universe alone had been wiped out as a group more times than anyone could count.
The death of this or that character could no longer catch readers’ attention, so they soon turned their butcher’s knives on the heads of every superhero, spawning several worlds centered around slaughtering the Marvel Universe.
There was not only Punisher Carnage Marvel Universe; even Deadpool himself had a classic "Carnage Universe Trilogy": Deadpool Carnage Marvel Universe, Deadpool Carnage Classic Works, and Deadpool Carnage Deadpool.
Zhang Ye had originally thought those stories were just ridiculous fun. Judging from the characters alone, the power scaling had collapsed far too badly. How could an ordinary man like Punisher possibly slaughter superheroes capable of destroying worlds? It was as absurd as a barbarian trying to solo an interstellar fleet.
Zhang Ye had never imagined that he would actually find himself in such a universe. An invisible pressure immediately settled over his heart.
Deadpool Carnage Marvel Universe: Retribution was a story that took place in a parallel universe of the All-New, All-Different Universe. Zhang Ye had read the comic several times before his transmigration, so he naturally knew its plot well.
Simply put, Deadpool had been brainwashed by villains led by Red Skull for certain reasons. When the villains activated the neural trigger in Deadpool’s brain with a coded phrase, he would instantly develop split personalities and horrifying hallucinations powerful enough to disrupt his mind.
In Deadpool’s own eyes, he was playing and having fun with the other superheroes. In reality, however, he was wielding his twin blades and brutally killing the superheroes he had ambushed.
In that respect, Deadpool was basically no different from General Zod under the effects of Fear Toxin. He thought he was punishing villains and helping heroes, but in truth, he was assisting villains in slaughtering heroes.
Later, after Deadpool had personally killed almost every superhero, "Pink Ghost" Gwenpool saw through the villains’ secret. As Deadpool killed her, she recited the corresponding code phrase to him, awakening the Deadpool controlled by the villains.
Thus, after successfully "waking up," Deadpool erupted with unprecedented fury and turned his butcher’s knife on the villains. In his reckless madness, he ultimately slaughtered every last one of them as well.
The plot was not particularly complicated, and its power scaling was nowhere near as outrageously broken as Punisher Carnage Marvel Universe.
What was worth noting was that when Deadpool chopped off Red Skull’s head at the end, Red Skull did not die. Instead, his severed head actually spoke and loudly mocked Deadpool, saying that he had completely lost his mind and could not even be sure whether he had truly awakened.
As for Deadpool, he left behind a single line: "If you’re not dead, I’ll come back and kill you again." Then he set off to hunt down the other villains.
It was an extremely open-ended conclusion, but to Zhang Ye, this entire world was in a precarious state. It was not only because Deadpool was slaughtering heroes; the whole comic carried a deeply unsettling undertone the more he thought about it.
Deadpool was not the most crucial problem. Whatever was hidden behind all of this was the truly threatening existence.
Zhang Ye could not even determine what the source of all this was, but it was not too late for him yet. He still had enough time to investigate.
"You already know what happened, don’t you?" Kara asked slowly as she looked at Zhang Ye, who had been silent for a long time.
"More or less." Zhang Ye put the long-extinguished cigarette butt into the ashtray, then forced a bitter smile. "I thought we could rest properly in this world for a while, but now, our leisure time is gone for good."
"Saving the world again? Perfect. I can learn how superheroes operate." Kara looked relaxed, then turned to Pietro beside her.
Noticing Kara’s gaze, Pietro sighed helplessly. "I don’t mind. The gaming guild kicked me out anyway."
Just then, Kara’s bedroom door opened, and John walked out while drying his hands with a towel.
"How is she?" Pietro asked.
"She’ll live. I used Black Magic to preserve her last breath. Whether she can hold on from here depends on her. She lost a tremendous amount of blood, and we still can’t determine her identity." John spoke with helpless frustration.
Elsewhere, inside a villa in Los Angeles.
Blood covered the floor. Looking in from outside with the help of the lights, one could clearly see figures moving about inside, accompanied from time to time by the sounds of clashing metal and explosions.
It was only because this was a detached house with no neighbors nearby that this unbelievable scene had not already drawn outside attention.
As the view moved closer, a Black woman could be seen floating in the pool outside the villa. Her blood had long since dyed the entire pool red. Several severed human limbs were scattered at the villa’s entrance, showing just how fierce the battle had been.
Inside the villa, exquisite furniture had been blasted into fragments by tremendous force and lay scattered everywhere. The few remaining people had reached the climax of the battle, each bringing out their final trump cards in an attempt to bring this heart-stopping fight to an end.
"Wade! How dare you! How dare you hurt my child!" An Asian woman roared. In an instant, terrifying magical energy surged from her hands, but Deadpool nimbly dodged the killing blow.
"Like I said~" Deadpool violently twisted his body in midair, then hurled the long blade in his hand, piercing straight through another woman glowing with multicolored pink light. He landed leisurely. "Since when did villains like you dare come looking for trouble with a hero like me?"
"Everyone, be careful. Deadpool’s brain has completely lost control. He’s like a radio receiving thousands of signals at once!" At that moment, a man with pink light shining from his eyes spoke up.
But in the next instant, Deadpool cut off his head, accompanied by Deadpool’s crazed laughter.
"Go join your Six-Fingered Hand~ Maybe if you count carefully, you’ll realize Gibilim doesn’t have any fingers at all~!"
