Demon Slaying Plan

In the Infinite Dimensional Space, the large gathering known as Salted Fish had always been a mixed bag. This gathering had almost no entry requirements.

Any Reincarnator who learned of this gathering could obtain the qualifications to join as long as they wished to.

This was because the authority to recruit new members had been given to every member. Once you became a member of Salted Fish, you could invite other Reincarnators to join.

Moreover, this gathering had no leadership whatsoever. Ever since its original founder had seemingly changed Avatars and vanished, all members of this gathering had been of equal standing.

No member had the authority to demand that another member carry out any task. As a result, the gathering’s scale and level had completely stagnated, relying only on the public facilities left behind to serve Reincarnators.

On one hand, this characteristic of Salted Fish gave many weak newcomer Reincarnators a convenient place to train themselves and search for suitable teammates.

On the other hand, it also led many ill-intentioned Reincarnators to choose Salted Fish as a "criminal den."

Reincarnators from different teams would temporarily join Salted Fish, meet here, and discuss their plans together.

At this moment, Reincarnators came and went across Salted Fish’s excessively vast plaza, but several people stood at its edge, draped in black cloaks.

Salted Fish’s public space was a massive circular expanse paved with stone slabs, with each ring capable of accommodating tens of thousands of people. These people stood on the outermost ring.

A hooded Reincarnator saw that everyone had arrived. He coughed twice and said,

"Since you are all here, my task is complete."

"Let me make this clear first. I am only responsible for putting you in contact with one another. I will not listen to your subsequent plans or actions, nor do they have anything to do with me. After leaving this place, I will find someone to erase this portion of my memories. If you do not believe me, I can make a contract."

He was an Information Broker. The face beneath his hood was utterly unremarkable, and his voice had been altered into a peculiar mechanical tone.

Hearing this, the woman sitting on the railing of the outermost ring, her back against the endless void below, gave a derisive snort. She raised a finger, and Azure Flames swirled around her body, turning into a butterfly that landed on her fingertip.

"Ha… No need for that. A coward like you is probably already scared out of your wits just from putting us, Mercenary Tao’s enemies, in contact…"

"To avoid being implicated, I bet you’ll immediately destroy this Avatar, erase your memories, and pretend you were never involved in this plan."

White Face mocked him in a crisp voice.

The Broker, who had concealed his identity, did not refute her. He merely emphasized once more,

"I have not participated in any plan. I merely collected payment and introduced all of you to one another. That is all…"

He raised his right hand and collected payment from each of them in turn. Then, without another word, he vanished from the public space.

White Face then looked at the others. She ripped off her black cloak, revealing her signature white robe trimmed in gold. Her slender figure nevertheless looked down upon them all.

Her gaze suddenly settled on one of them. He held his head high, his eyes likewise fixed on her, and the hatred in those eyes was impossible to dispel.

The corners of White Face’s lips curled up, and a smile quickly spread across her face.

"You are… that Fifth Element guy’s useless baggage. You’re actually not dead yet?"

Jiasu, who was also using a black cloak to conceal his priestly robes, frowned, worried that Wei Yixiao would clash with White Face at this moment.

However, the teeth-gritting Shōnen Wei Yixiao finally let out a breath and shifted his gaze away.

He was going to kill this woman eventually, but before that, he had to borrow every bit of strength he could to kill Mercenary Tao first.

Mercenary Tao was growing far too quickly. He feared that before long, he would no longer have any chance of revenge.

Flames also burned around Wei Yixiao’s body. Those flames contained the power of the soul, causing the mockery in White Face’s eyes to slowly fade.

This Shōnen, the final inheritor of Fifth Element’s legacy, had actually grown this much…

Even White Face could not help marveling at the mysteries of fate.

"Very good. It seems none of you are weak. That gives our Demon Slaying Plan much greater assurance."

A giant whose Avatar stood over three meters tall threw back his cloak. He wore a peculiar suit of armor, its turquoise stripes and scales looking somewhat ridiculous. Yet at the position of the breastplate was a black character for demon against a red background.

Great Demon greedily tore his gaze away from White Face. He knew White Face possessed a special card, but this was not the time to covet such things.

Mercenary Tao had cards too, and… more of them!

Pitch-black mist spread from around Great Demon’s body.

Another group stood several meters away from them, as though they formed a faction of their own. Only after seeing White Face, Wei Yixiao, and Great Demon reveal some of their abilities in succession did they look seriously at the others.

At the very center of that group stood a Shōnen less than a meter tall. He undid his cloak, and a Black Great Sun emerged behind him.

White Face, Great Demon, Wei Yixiao, and Jiasu all retreated several steps.

The manifestation of a Black Great Sun behind one’s head was a symbol of identity within the Space.

The mysterious Number One follower of the Great Sun of Finality!

"You people do indeed possess the potential to become Title-level Reincarnators in the next selection, but if you want to truly kill Mercenary Tao… you are not enough."

Just as a group of Reincarnators in the Space secretly plotted the Demon Slaying Plan, Bai Cangshu stomped down from above the sea of clouds, and his one-man craft sank into the cloudscape.

The next moment, it tore down through the clouds, dragging a long trail behind it.

The islands of Japan below had already become incomparably distinct.

What Bai Cangshu had not expected was that the entirety of Japan had turned snow-white. In less than a day, it seemed to have entered winter completely.

Evil, frigid magic appeared from all directions. Bai Cangshu’s gaze shifted slightly as he put on the Crown of the Outer God again.

Once he obtained the identity of the Outer God Patriarch, he sensed the locations of the Reincarnators and Plot Characters in his faction and discovered that countless worshippers of the Ancient Alien God had appeared throughout Japan.

The number of White Walkers had surged from fewer than twenty before he left to several hundred.

This number of White Walkers had already far exceeded their scale in A Song of Ice and Fire.

"Looks like It truly wants this world too…"

Bai Cangshu did not know what was so special about this world. The Multi-Faced Star People were observing humanity here, and the Ancient Alien God had not hesitated to expend divine power to exert its influence.

But he did know that he had received no rewards for these changes involving the Ancient Alien God and the Outer God Abode!

The faction’s scale had increased dramatically, yet he had received neither reputation rewards nor any other rewards.

Bai Cangshu plummeted rapidly from the sky. The surviving humans in the freezing city all saw a white smoke dragon descend from the night sky.

Bai Cangshu looked around and confirmed that this was indeed Sugahide Hito’s former official residence. But now, both the fields and the exquisite manor had vanished.

Only an enormous tree remained. Its trunk was made of twisted flesh and blood, while its crimson leaves were vivid and eerie, standing out sharply amid the wind and snow.

There were quite a few ghouls around the tree, but they showed no hostility toward Bai Cangshu and continued wandering nearby.

Bai Cangshu walked beneath the tree and saw Sugahide Hito. This man, perhaps Japan’s last prime minister in this world, was growing from the trunk of the twisted giant tree.

When he saw Mercenary Tao return, Sugahide Hito, whose eyes had turned ice-blue, revealed a delighted expression.

"Mr. Mercenary Tao… You’ve finally returned…"

"Quickly, save this country!"

"They made me sign some kind of thing I didn’t understand, and then it kept getting colder, colder and colder. In the blink of an eye, Japan became like this. I didn’t want this, I didn’t know…"

He shook his head, repeatedly insisting that he had no idea why all this had happened.

Bai Cangshu’s expression remained unchanged. He gently stroked the giant tree of flesh and blood, while his black hair unconsciously began to spread as the Limit Break Spiral started turning.

"To end this contract, I must kill you, the one who signed it on behalf of Japan…"

Sugahide Hito froze, then immediately began to waver. Bai Cangshu clearly read the violent struggle in his heart, as well as the increasingly intense hatred.

Then, this prime minister who could be called a worthy official changed his mind.

He lowered his head, and the struggle vanished from his face.

"Forget it… This is probably the will of the people too."

Bai Cangshu smiled. Sure enough, this was the human nature he knew.

"Yes, but unfortunately, not mine."

The crimson serpent in Bai Cangshu’s right hand suddenly pierced through the tree.
