Devil Fruit Awakening

The Florian Triangle was a good place to hide. On top of that, Gecko Moria had stockpiled a vast amount of supplies aboard this ship. With fewer than ten of them, they could eat and take whatever they wanted for a year or two without any trouble.

Of course, Yota had no intention of staying here for a year or two. Recently, he had begun to see results from the Devil Fruit fusion. Once the fusion succeeded, his Munch-Munch Fruit and Dark-Dark Fruit would be close to awakening as well.

Combined with the qualitative leap in combat power brought by fused Fruits, once he gathered a few more Devil Fruits that could be fused, he would give the World Government a taste of its own medicine.

At present, his fused Devil Fruit could already remain stable for several minutes. With one more breakthrough, it would fully form into an entirely new Devil Fruit.

In particular, the Shadow Fruit and Vampire Fruit he had acquired were highly compatible. Relying on the connections between these Devil Fruits, he was confident that he could complete the Devil Fruit fusion experiment and awaken his two Devil Fruits within a few months.

More than two months later.

Amid a series of crackling sounds, Ulti, Page One, and Kyros were all knocked to the ground.

What was surprising was that the one standing before the three of them was Onion Moria. No, he was no longer an onion. Though he was still some distance from the wickedly arrogant Moria of twenty years ago, the inner tube around his waist had vanished, and muscle definition could now be seen on his body.

"His rate of improvement is incredible…" Kyros wiped the corner of his mouth and stood up. "As expected of the Great Pirate who once contended with one of the Four Emperors, Kaido. Once he pulled himself together, his strength really improved by leaps and bounds."

"In three days, you regained your Haki. In one month, you could fight the three of us together on even footing. After two months, you can suppress us outright. Is this the true strength of Gecko Moria?"

"Jihihihihihihi, true strength? I’m probably still a long way from my peak, especially without the Shadow-Shadow Fruit." Moria chuckled as he swung the long blade in his hand.

"If I regain my Conqueror’s Haki now, I’ll be about at the peak I reached back when I had no Devil Fruit abilities."

The reason Gecko Moria had recovered so quickly was largely because Yota had installed a Biological Chip in his head.

With top-tier Life Return, Gecko Moria’s body fat was quickly converted into muscle. Even if he did not want to train, the chip automatically controlled his muscle fibers to move. Aside from the overwhelmingly sore sensation, this chip-controlled exercise had almost no drawbacks and could thoroughly train every muscle fiber.

After recovering some of his strength, Gecko Moria had even considered causing trouble for Yota and the others. Then Yota effortlessly pinned him to the ground with one hand several times, and only then did he behave himself.

Later, he learned Yota’s group’s identities from Perona. Once he found out that they were not Kaido’s subordinates, but had instead beaten Kaido badly and seized his Devil Fruit, Moria stopped constantly butting heads with Yota and the others.

Unfortunately, Moria might not have wanted to clash with them, but Yota had no intention of passing up such a good training opportunity. He therefore had Ulti, Page One, and Kyros challenge Gecko Moria whenever they had the time.

Having lost his Devil Fruit and received a Biological Chip, Moria seemed to have regained some of his former ambition. In his battles with the three of them, he not only did not fall behind, but gradually returned to his former level.

As a result, the final outcome of this training was that Moria gradually gained the upper hand. He even slowly developed some gratitude toward Yota and the others in his heart. They had finally pulled him out of his formerly decadent life.

Now, in the entire Moria Pirates, only a certain invisible man avoided Yota’s group.

Of the rest, after Perona discovered that Yota did not intend to kill her, she pestered him every day, trying to get back her Hollow-Hollow Fruit. As for that surgeon, he had been won over by Yota’s medical skill. He studied diligently every day, hoping to truly revive the dead.

There was no Pure Land in this world. Even with the Rinnegan, Yota had no way to communicate with the laws of life and death to resurrect the dead. However, through various modification abilities, it might be possible to create vegetative humans extremely close to living people.

That was why Yota had always been quite interested in Brook’s Revive-Revive Fruit. After all, the revival granted by the Revive-Revive Fruit involved the underworld, unlike the resurrection of the Eight-Headed Serpent Fruit. Still, he had focused all his attention on Fruit fusion for now and had not yet had time to study Brook’s situation.

Just as Moria had finished sparring with Kyros and the others and was about to say something, his brows suddenly furrowed.

An immense presence abruptly swept across the entire Giant Ghost Ship. It did not feel like Conqueror’s Haki, but rather the terrifying pressure that came before some natural disaster erupted.

"What is that?" Ulti was the first to shout, pointing at the gloomy sky outside the window.

A huge "black hole" had appeared in the sky, which had originally been covered in dark clouds. What was even more shocking was that countless pale, sharp teeth filled that black hole, giving the impression that they could chew all things to pieces.

As those teeth writhed, the black hole began to slowly rotate, forming a terrifying vortex in the sky. The black mist of the Devil’s Triangle and the clouds overhead gradually began to be sucked into the black hole.

"That’s… a Logia-type awakening!"

The well-informed Gecko Moria took one look at the sky and immediately cried out.

"A Logia-type awakening? Really? Could it be Captain Yota? But I’ve never seen him use Elementalization before," Ulti asked strangely.

"I can’t be sure either…" Moria frowned. "It does look like a Logia-type Devil Fruit awakening… but what are those teeth?"

"Don’t forget our captain’s nickname. He has more than one Devil Fruit in him. If several Devil Fruits awakened in tandem, perhaps this is what it would look like." The steady-tempered Kyros voiced the most likely guess.

After hearing Kyros’s words, Moria nodded slightly. "Indeed. This is the first time I’ve ever encountered someone who can possess multiple Devil Fruit abilities. Who knows what his Devil Fruit awakening will look like?"

"And I think that on my Ghost Ship, there’s probably no one else capable of causing such a huge commotion."
