Devouring, Mechanical Heart

Wang Bert smiled slightly at Supergiant’s arrogance and asked, "Did you hear that sound?"

"What sound?"

Supergiant froze. At that moment, stirring music began playing from nowhere, as if someone had turned on a sound system.

"My personal background music."

Wang Bert wasted no more time. With a roar, boundless Mind Energy surged from his body and transformed into ninety-nine golden Dragon Gods, each hundreds of meters long.

The ninety-nine golden Dragon Gods then charged into the sea of monsters with resounding Dragon Roars. Everything in their path, no matter what kind of monster, was crushed to pieces.

"How do you have Mind Energy? And so much of it?"

Supergiant was horrified. Ignoring everything else, her eyes turned completely gold as the entire ground collapsed and transformed into endless Mind Energy.

Supergiant was no fool. Though she had treated Wang Bert as a sparring partner, she had not forgotten to prepare her trump card—she had fused excess Mind Energy into the ground, simulating the destruction of the world.

Just as Supergiant activated her killer move, a large amount of Dragon Fire suddenly erupted from the depths of her soul, wildly burning it. Supergiant screamed and endured the agony as she controlled the Mind Energy to extinguish the flames.

Wang Bert’s Revenge Dragon Fire had not disappeared earlier. It had merely hidden within Supergiant’s soul.

Dragon Fire possessed an extremely high rank. Even Mind Energy could not immediately extinguish it. At that moment, Wang Bert rode a Dragon God and abruptly appeared before Supergiant. His palms carried the power of nine dragons as they slammed fiercely into her chest.

Supergiant’s body exploded instantly. Her flaming soul flew out, and just as she was about to draw upon the Mind Energy, a pitch-black head suddenly emerged from Wang Bert’s neck and swallowed both her soul and her blasted body in one bite.

Still unwilling to give up, Supergiant tried to communicate with the Mind Stone and escape. At that moment, God’s Cloak flew behind Wang Bert, instantly severing the connection between Supergiant and the Mind Stone.

"You thought Mind Energy could really block God’s Cloak for that long?"

Wang Bert sneered. God’s Cloak had only been blocked for a few seconds; after that, it had merely been putting on an act.

As for why Wang Bert had Mind Energy? Simple—he just devoured the Mind Energy around him.

"Blood God’s senior brother, you won."

Seeing that the situation was hopeless, Supergiant stopped resisting and said, "Kill me. I will not surrender to you."

"I know you won’t surrender. There is only one way to subdue you: erase your memories. Unfortunately, the Mind Stone has ruined that."

Wang Bert shook his head. "I won this round, but you did not lose either, because you are about to receive the death you have longed for."

"Death is liberation to me."

Supergiant said, "It is only a pity that I never got to see what the God-Devil Level realm is like."

"If I were not so busy right now and had time to deal with you slowly, I would have let you grow to the God-Devil Level. That would have made you the perfect fruit."

Wang Bert said. A god-level Supergiant plus the Mind Stone was not impossible to defeat, merely troublesome and time-consuming.

So Wang Bert chose to harvest her early.

There was no need to seek perfection. Beyond Earth’s Defense Net, there were still three ready-made Demon Gods.

Supergiant said nothing more and closed her eyes to await death. Wang Bert raised his head, about to speak to the Mind Stone, when the surroundings suddenly became filled with birdsong and flowers, like a paradise.

Then, a gate made of countless angels appeared between heaven and earth. After that, a radiant path of holy light appeared beneath Wang Bert’s feet.

Though no one spoke, the meaning was obvious: "Sir, take your time leaving. If you need anything, just say the word."

"You’re way too pragmatic, aren’t you?"

Wang Bert mocked. The instant Supergiant lost, the Mind Stone made a complete one-eighty, becoming as sycophantic as could be.

The Mind Stone did not respond. It merely made the surroundings even more dazzling. Wang Bert scoffed and walked through the gate.

Beyond the gate was an underground space. Wang Bert nodded to his main body, then flew into it.

Wang Bert’s main body did not waste words and directly began devouring Supergiant. A moment later, Supergiant had completely become a thing of the past.

"Mind control, telepathy, mental transmission, memory theft. Not bad abilities."

Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. Then, the Infinity Gauntlet appeared on his hand again. With a slight clench, yellow energy from the Mind Stone ran from his arm through his entire body.

The Mind Stone was officially his.

"Is it enough? Is it enough? If it’s not enough, there’s more."

A thought entered Wang Bert’s mind. He rolled his eyes. The Mind Stone only lacked a physical body; otherwise, it would probably already be kneeling before him.

Without wasting time, Wang Bert drew upon Mind Power to comprehensively strengthen his mental will. Then, with that powerful will, he rapidly brought the surging power inside his body under control.

This was why Wang Bert had not sacrificed the Mind Stone. This stone could not only control others, but also greatly enhance his own spirit and will.

With the Mind Stone’s help, Wang Bert would reach his peak before long. When that happened, it would be time for the three Demon Gods to die.

He could actually make a move now, but he was not confident he could keep all of them behind.

Sokovia underground base.

After Carter made her move, Baron Strucker and the others were swiftly defeated and captured alive by S.W.O.R.D.

"Wow, Ms. Carter, I had no idea you were this powerful."

Ant-Man was full of admiration. Whether Inhumans or Kree Soldiers, none of them were Carter’s match. It was not even a fight; it was a complete crushing.

"Not bad, I suppose."

Carter shrugged indifferently—she was also an Iron Fist. She had taught Steve how to use qi.

Baron Strucker immediately surrendered. "Ms. Carter, I surrender. I can tell you everything related to Hydra."

"Coward."

The Kree scientist cursed, then shouted, "Humans, the Kree Empire will not let you go! Earth will definitely be destroyed by the Kree Empire!"

"It is not that the Kree Empire will not let us go. We will not let the Kree Empire go. Because of what you did this time, the Kree Empire will lose at least ten planets."

Carter said disdainfully, "With Blood God’s strength, that would not be difficult at all."

The Kree scientist’s expression changed drastically. He shouted, "This has nothing to do with the Kree Empire! It was the independent action of a group of us!"

"Didn’t you just say the Kree Empire would not let us go?"

Carter sneered. Just as she was about to say more, the elevator suddenly activated. Carter was startled and hurriedly asked through her communicator. Ivan replied, "Don’t worry, it’s me. Things up top have been handled."

"That’s good."

Carter sighed in relief. A moment later, Ivan walked out of the elevator. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, he walked over to the Antimatter Bomb sealed in ice.

"It isn’t suitable to remove the Antimatter yet. We’ll wait until the battle above is over."

Ivan said, "Speaking of which, it’s a good thing you froze it in time. Otherwise, with all this shaking, the bomb would have exploded already."

Carter said, "Then you keep watch here. I’m going up to help Steve."

"Alright."

Ivan did not object. Carter nodded and headed for the elevator. Ant-Man wanted to follow, but Carter said, "Stay here. It’s too dangerous for you up there."

"Fine."

Ant-Man nodded, but grumbled inwardly. Couldn’t she have put that more tactfully? Even if it was true.

At the same time, the battle between the Inhumans and Enhanced Humans had also come to an end. Under Skye’s leadership, S.W.O.R.D. won a sweeping victory. The still-conscious Hydra Inhumans and Enhanced Humans had either been knocked down or captured.

"Tie them up. Once the battle is over, send them back to S.W.O.R.D. for a thorough trial."

Skye ordered. Everyone nodded and replied, "Understood."

Listening to the sounds of battle above, Alisa asked worriedly, "Skye, the battle up there sounds intense. Should we go help?"

"No need. Doom and Director Steve can handle it. Otherwise, they would have called for reinforcements already."

Skye glanced at the ceiling and said, "Keep an eye on them. I’m going to copy Hydra’s files. This time, we’ll uproot Hydra completely."

"Alright."

Alisa nodded. General Ross, who had returned to his original form nearby, hurriedly shouted, "The military needs a copy of the files here."

"You really got into character quickly. Don’t worry, you’ll receive part of the information later."

Skye snorted and headed toward Hydra’s control center.

Because of the aftershocks from the battle in the sky, Sokovia’s forests had already burst into flames. Doom’s Power Armor legion dared not remain any longer and quickly retreated toward the border with their captives.

The battle in the sky grew increasingly intense. Under Hydra’s relentless bombardment, Steve was gradually becoming exhausted. It was not because his stamina was poor, but because Hydra’s offensive was simply too fierce and never stopped.

After all, it had nine heads.

In comparison, Jarvis was doing much better. With an Antimatter Reactor and a Vibranium shell, he weaved effortlessly around Hydra, occasionally cutting off one or two heads.

"Doom, how much longer?"

Steve twisted aside to avoid a ray from Destruction Head, then slammed his shield into its face, hitting it so hard it could not recognize its own mother. As he continued attacking, he asked Doom through his communicator.

"Ultron’s mechanical component is constantly moving inside it. I’m trying to pin it down. Hold out a little longer."

Doom replied. At that moment, he was in a spatial layer, using magic to locate the Mechanical Heart inside Hydra.

"Fine. I can keep this up all day."

Steve took a deep breath, blocked the Cold Ice sprayed at him with his shield, then roared and drove his golden fist into the iceberg. The iceberg, more than ten meters tall, shattered instantly.

Then Steve let out a loud roar, sending chunks of ice blasting toward the other heads like cannonballs and leaving them in a sorry state.

"Damn it."

Ultron cursed. Both Jarvis and Steve were far more troublesome than it had anticipated.

Honestly, Ultron could not understand why. It was a god-level being. By all rights, defeating Jarvis and Steve should not have been difficult.

Hydra’s corpse was indeed god-level, but Ultron’s consciousness was not. At present, it could only be considered the weakest kind of god-level being.

At that moment, Ultron noticed the city below. Its eyes flashed as its enormous body began moving toward the city. Steve was a Super Hero; if it used the city’s civilians as hostages, he and Jarvis would surely be constrained.

The city below could not even withstand the aftershocks of their battle.

"Hydra is coming! Evacuate, now!"

Seeing the situation in the sky, Coulson hurriedly shouted. The citizens who had only just settled down quickly fled outward.

"We can’t let it go down there. Jarvis, hold it back!"

Steve grew anxious and shouted. Jarvis did not waste words. He retracted the High-Temperature Light Beam, turned, flew to Hydra’s side, and wrapped his arms around its neck, dragging it backward with all his strength.

"You cannot stop me."

Ultron laughed wildly. The head representing flames opened its mouth and fired a High-Temperature Light Beam downward. As its head swept from side to side, explosions constantly erupted throughout the city below. Within moments, flames and black smoke rose rapidly.

Steve cursed and hurled his shield with all his might. With a clang, Hydra’s flame head was smashed apart by the shield and the storm, and flesh rained down toward the ground with loud splatters.

Ultron had anticipated Steve’s move. It immediately unleashed a storm, blowing the shield far away.

Seeing this, Steve leaped forcefully onto the point where Ultron’s neck connected to its body. His fists struck like phantoms, preventing those heads from attacking the city below.

Ultron controlled several heads to attack Steve in succession, not caring even if it injured itself. Without his shield, Steve could only block with Iron Fist Power, and he gradually became more and more disheveled.

Just as Carter flew up, she saw Steve’s shield knocked away and hurriedly flew toward it. At that moment, Doom’s voice sounded in her mind.

Doom said, "Ms. Carter, fly into Hydra’s body. Once I heavily injure Hydra, immediately destroy that mechanical device."

Carter asked, "If you can heavily injure Hydra, why not destroy that device along with it?"

"That device has been moving rapidly along with the blood, so it cannot be destroyed."

Doom said, "I discovered that when Hydra regenerates, the device slows down. The energy is likely all being supplied to its regenerative ability. Ms. Carter, you must hit it in one blow. Otherwise, once Ultron is on guard, killing it will be difficult."

"Alright."

Carter nodded. To avoid being noticed by Ultron, she stopped chasing the shield. She quietly approached Ultron from below, then flew into its body through one of its wounds.

Because Carter was too small and Ultron had no sense of pain, it did not notice her entering its body.

Once Carter was ready, Doom suddenly appeared and cast different spells with both hands.

A spatial gate suddenly appeared beneath Ultron. The burning spear struck again, piercing through Ultron’s body from its abdomen and emerging from its back.

The spear’s powerful kinetic force created a wound far larger than itself. Ultron hurriedly controlled the darkness head to blast the spear, intending to destroy it completely.

At that moment, a huge spatial gate appeared out of thin air beside Hydra. Then, the gate rapidly contracted like the sharpest blade, instantly slicing off Hydra’s nine heads along with their necks.

Ultron was horrified. It hurriedly controlled the nine heads to fly back to the severed stumps, then frantically activated its regenerative ability and restored the nine heads to normal.

Because all the power inside its body was being used for regeneration, the Mechanical Heart slowed down. Carter seized the chance, rapidly enlarged inside Hydra’s body, then drove a blue-glowing punch into the Mechanical Heart with earth-shattering force.

The Mechanical Heart was not shattered. Instead, it pierced through Hydra’s body like a cannonball and flew outside.

Ultron, residing within the Mechanical Heart, was terrified out of its wits and hurriedly tried to fly back into Hydra’s body. At that moment, a massive metal hand firmly grabbed it. It was Jarvis.
