Didn’t Expect You to Be Like This…

Ignoring the remarks meant to lighten the mood, young Dumbledore was feeling quite conflicted.

First, he had accidentally killed Ariana in the melee. Then he had discovered that he could not move, while someone identical to him had taken his place and performed his every action. On top of that, he had seen another unharmed Ariana talking to a stranger…

With his intelligence, he could infer some things from Adam and Ariana’s conversation, but there was still much he could not understand. At the same time, Ariana’s situation occupied most of his thoughts.

Young Grindelwald, on the other hand, was different. Ariana’s situation had not affected him as deeply, so he was more direct than young Dumbledore:

"Were we back there an illusion too? Why did you bring us here?"

"That was not an illusion. It was replication… or rather, transfer."

Adam briefly explained the Twin Card’s ability.

"A parallel world… How incredible."

Young Grindelwald looked at Adam with blazing eyes.

Time and parallel spaces were magical powers that could hardly be controlled by humans!

"So, after going to all this trouble to come to this time, what exactly is your goal? It cannot be as simple as saving Ariana, can it?"

Young Grindelwald’s gaze at Adam grew increasingly wary.

"Traveling through time cannot be something that can be done so casually, right? By your account, your era should have had almost no connection to Ariana at all. Why would you pay such a huge price to save a stranger?"

"Do not tell me it is because Dumbledore is your professor. If Dumbledore had such an ability, he would never leave saving Ariana to someone else."

"Exactly! Not to mention that you went out of your way to transfer us from a parallel world into this one… What exactly are you trying to do?"

After hearing young Grindelwald’s analysis, young Dumbledore’s eyes were likewise full of vigilance as he looked at Adam.

"Wow~ You are already united again? In my era, the two of you spent your old age never speaking to each other after a great war."

Young Grindelwald: ???

Facing the gaze directed at him, young Dumbledore widened his eyes and shook his head.

"You know I could never hurt you…"

According to the original course of events, Dumbledore’s love-struck side would have died along with Ariana by now, leaving Grindelwald as the only one still blinded by love between them.

But Ariana had not died now, so Dumbledore’s love-struck side had not only survived, but was even in the midst of a passionate romance with Grindelwald, at the stage where love had completely clouded his judgment…

Adam added at just the right moment.

"Oh, right. Your Blood Pact still exists, does it not? In my era, your Blood Pact was destroyed long ago. I had forgotten about that."

Young Grindelwald: [furious]

Young Dumbledore: (wДw)!!!

"Albus! Why does he know about the Blood Pact?"

Young Grindelwald glared furiously at young Dumbledore. If it had not truly happened, how could an outsider possibly know about such a secret matter as the Blood Pact they had made?

"Not me! I did not! It was not me!"

Young Dumbledore could not defend himself.

"Is that so hard to understand? In his eyes, you killed his sister."

Adam twisted the knife, and young Grindelwald, whose anger had been blazing moments ago, immediately fell silent.

He did bear inescapable responsibility for that accident, and he knew it was something Dumbledore could never forgive. Otherwise, he would not have wanted to run away just now.

"Let us get back to why you did all this."

Realizing that the conversation was heading in a direction extremely unfavorable to him, young Grindelwald hurriedly dragged the topic back.

"It is rather complicated. On one hand, Hogwarts currently lacks professors with sufficient ability. Unable to find suitable candidates in my era, I could only turn my gaze toward the past."

Hogwarts’ teaching staff had indeed grown several times larger, but it had also exposed a problem—the school’s overall faculty was somewhat unbalanced. There was an abundance of mid- and lower-tier talent, but a shortage of top-tier talent.

Professor McGonagall’s disciples were certainly capable and could handle a professor’s duties, but that was all. Hogwarts still lacked elite wizards like Dumbledore and Grindelwald, top-tier wizards capable of holding down an entire region.

Adam had racked his brains for a long time, yet he had not found any wizard in the British Wizarding World with talent of that caliber.

In the end, Adam relaxed his requirements somewhat. Even someone with the potential to become a top-tier wizard would do! He had enough time to wait for them to grow.

But even after lowering his standards, Adam still found nothing.

Yet just now, Adam had found them.

How could young Dumbledore and Grindelwald not count as promising talents capable of becoming top-tier wizards like Dumbledore and Grindelwald?

And conveniently enough, even with wizards’ long lifespans, very few people who had seen Dumbledore and Grindelwald in their youth were still alive.

In other words, if he brought the teenage Dumbledore and Grindelwald to the modern era, as long as he did not openly let them use their original names, there would be almost no need to worry about being exposed.

Upon hearing Adam’s reason, both young Dumbledore and young Grindelwald wore somewhat strange expressions.

So Adam had gone to all this trouble to bring them over from a parallel world just to recruit teachers for Hogwarts?

With a headmaster as dedicated as you, Hogwarts’ students were truly blessed!

"Besides that, part of my reason is personal."

Adam smiled and glanced at young Grindelwald.

"What I did not say before is that, although it was not official, Mr. Grindelwald from my era also taught me a few things. He was half a professor to me. So personally, I still hope the two of you can end up together rather than parting ways because of an accident."

After hearing Adam’s words, young Dumbledore and young Grindelwald both fell into thought.

"That is impossible. You should understand something about time. The past cannot be changed, or the timeline will have problems."

Adam suddenly spoke without warning.

"That is why I could only bring you over from a parallel world instead of taking the present-day Dumbledore and Grindelwald away. It is also why, after saving Ariana, I had to use an illusion to make the world’s course continue along its original path."

"You used Legilimency on us?!"

The two young men immediately turned grim.

"I did not want to. I was born with it."

Adam shrugged.

"But do not worry. I am a Hufflepuff. Unlike Gryffindors, I can keep my mouth shut."

So please, give me more memories of the past in your minds. The kid loves this stuff!

Oh my~ I never expected Professor Dumbledore and Professor Grindelwald to be like this!
