Drag Them All Down!

"I can’t believe you old farts are actually willing to send me after a Jade Grade piece of trash."

Inside an utterly ordinary detached villa, a somewhat sinister-looking young man spoke in a carefree, flippant tone.

Casually swallowing a grape offered by the blank-faced mature woman beside him, he narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at the old man before him.

Ignoring the bizarre scene around them, Lord Sheng said sternly, "We’ve supported you for so long. It’s time you did something for us."

"Don’t let your guard down just because that little thing is only Jade Grade."

Hearing this, the young man gave a disdainful snort. "You really are getting worse with age. A mere Jade Grade Card Master has scared you all this badly."

"Fine, I get it. Where is he?"

Faced with his question, Lord Sheng merely shook his head slightly. "We don’t know. That little thing disappeared after completing the mission."

"However, according to our intelligence, he most likely went to find his Senior Disciple Brothers and Senior Disciple Sisters."

At this point, he paused before continuing in a deep voice, "It seems our earlier assassination attempt put him on alert."

Though that little thing had concealed it well, they still suspected that he had begun to doubt the identity of the assassins.

He simply did not yet have any concrete evidence pointing to them.

That was also why, during the previous meeting, everyone had unanimously agreed to send the person before them into action.

"But don’t worry. He’ll definitely return to Quancheng eventually. You only need to wait there for a rabbit."

After hearing this, the young man merely nodded noncommittally. Then, he patted the mature woman beside him on the butt. "Go keep your husband company."

As soon as he spoke, a tear rolled down the woman’s numb face. Then she staggered toward the bedroom.

When a gust of wind blew the door open, the corpse of a man could be seen hanging from the chandelier, swaying back and forth.

A moment later, another shadow hung suspended in the bedroom.

Lord Sheng watched the scene before him coldly and merely reminded him, "When you go to Quancheng, remember to clean things up properly. We won’t be there to wipe your ass. Once it’s over, make sure you won’t be exposed before coming back."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. You’re so annoying, old man."

After saying that, the young man stood up, stretched lazily, and vanished from the villa.

At that moment, a middle-aged man quickly walked up to the old man. "My lord."

Glancing at him, Lord Sheng said casually, "Write that the husband discovered his wife’s affair, poisoned her, then killed himself out of guilt."

"Yes."

In Jizhou Town, Zhang Jingxing first poured the young man in the living room a glass of water before asking in confusion, "Junior brother, why are you here?"

Before Lu Su could answer, he casually cracked a joke. "Don’t tell me you’ve grown tired of the Qilu Card Master Association and are planning to return to the Shuběi Army?"

But when he saw Lu Su’s solemn expression, Zhang Jingxing froze for a moment, then asked hesitantly, "Junior Brother, are you really planning to come back?"

However, Lu Su did not answer directly. Instead, he asked, "Senior Disciple Brother, no one can hear our conversation here, right?"

Zhang Jingxing’s breathing hitched. He realized that his Junior Brother had something serious to say, something extremely important.

His fingers flicked slightly, and then he nodded. "You can speak now."

"The Imperial Court tried to assassinate me."

Upon hearing that, Zhang Jingxing’s face instantly darkened. "Were you hurt?"

He did not doubt Lu Su’s words in the slightest.

Seeing that, Lu Su swallowed the explanation he had been about to give and shook his head slightly. "They sent three pieces of trash. They couldn’t hurt me."

"That’s good." Zhang Jingxing inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. "Stay here with me for now. As long as I’m here, they won’t be able to hurt you."

He naturally assumed that Lu Su had come to seek his protection.

Faced with his goodwill, Lu Su could only accept it, because he still had something far more crucial to say.

Without the slightest hesitation, the youth revealed news shocking enough to terrify anyone. "The secret realm Ye Diantang is suppressing was created by the Imperial Court."

Hearing this, Zhang Jingxing first froze, as though he had not understood what Lu Su meant.

But a few seconds later, his expression became as colorful as an overturned paint palette. "…Huh?"

Lu Su could understand why he looked like that. After all, when he had first received Gu Wu’s message, he had felt much the same.

But Zhang Jingxing had weathered countless storms, and he quickly steadied himself before forcing out four words. "Is the information accurate?"

Lu Su nodded. This information had come from the Spirit Summoning Society. There was absolutely no way it could be wrong.

"Where did you get this information?" Zhang Jingxing could not help muttering to himself.

He finally understood why his Junior Brother had been acting strangely all day. So this was what he had been waiting to tell him.

Lu Su fell silent for a moment before ultimately deciding to tell him about the Spirit Summoning Society. He knew the matter was too important. If he did not explain where the information had come from, his Senior Disciple Brother probably would not trust him easily.

Besides, since he had already decided to come clean with Bai Yueming, adding Zhang Jingxing would not make much difference.

"The Spirit Summoning Society. I got it from the Spirit Summoning Society."

"?"

Zhang Jingxing turned stiffly toward Lu Su, unable to comprehend what the youth had just said.

It could only be said that, in a very short time, he had suffered wave after wave of shock.

Lu Su merely looked at him and said calmly, "Senior Disciple Brother, I’m a member of the Spirit Summoning Society."

"…"

Zhang Jingxing felt dizzy. At that moment, his only thought was, This is a disaster. There’s actually a Spirit Summoning Society mole in our sect.

As though he had seen through his thoughts, Lu Su hurriedly explained, "Senior Disciple Brother, Jin Ping hasn’t controlled me. If anything, I’d be more accurately described as a mole myself."

Zhang Jingxing took a deep breath to calm himself, then said to Lu Su with a complicated expression, "Sorry, Junior Brother, but I still can’t trust you."

"After all, I have no way to determine whether this is an act put on by you and the Spirit Summoning Society."

"Until Teacher returns, stay here with me."

The good news was that Lu Su was temporarily out of mortal danger.

The bad news was that he was about to be imprisoned.

Lu Su was not surprised by this. If their positions had been reversed, he would have had the same thought.

After all, the news that the Imperial Court had used some means to bring down a Hall of Fame Grade Secret Realm in order to trap Ye Zhou, Great Ming’s only Hall of Fame Card Master, was simply too explosive.

If it got out, Great Ming would definitely descend into chaos. And that was precisely what the Spirit Summoning Society wanted to see, so Zhang Jingxing had no choice but to be cautious.

But in the next moment, under the gaze of this Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Shuběi Army, the youth before him summoned a tea-haired girl, and an electronic device resembling a communication device appeared in his hand.

After having Misaka Mikoto interfere with the sub-machine, Lu Su handed it to Zhang Jingxing. "Senior Disciple Brother, you can look through the information in this however you like."

Zhang Jingxing froze and instinctively accepted the sub-machine.

As he began looking through the messages inside, his expression became increasingly grave.

After a long while, he let out a long breath and turned to Lu Su. "Junior Brother, how many people know about this?"

"Only Senior Disciple Sister Hu."

Hearing that, Zhang Jingxing nodded slightly.

He knew something about his Fourth Junior Sister. Though she was somewhat withdrawn, she was rarely wrong about people.

If anyone truly thought she was easy to fool—

One Electrotherapy Seat, please.

After a moment of silence, he said seriously to Lu Su, "Junior Brother, on a personal level, I’m willing to believe you."

"But—"

"Forget it. I’ll report directly to Master Fang and Master Ji."

"Don’t worry. With me here, even if they don’t believe you, nothing will happen to you."

In the end, even if Lu Su truly was a Spirit Summoning Society mole, that was still a matter within their sect. If anyone were to deal with him, it would be Bai Yueming.

"Wait here for me."

Leaving those words behind, Zhang Jingxing hurried away.

Seeing this, Lu Su could not help feeling somewhat helpless. Things were developing in a direction he had never anticipated.

Before coming to Jizhou Town, his plan had been to come clean to his Senior Disciple Brother, have him report the matter of the Hall of Fame Grade Secret Realm to the two Master Card Masters, and then quietly disappear himself.

But that was clearly impossible now. There was even a high chance that Fang Ji would receive him in person.

Still, his life should not be in danger. After what had happened with Guran last time, his identity should have already been cleared with those two Master Card Masters of the Shuběi Army.

Lu Su had never considered running away.

A clear conscience feared no accusation, and Lu Xi had resolved many of the Association’s troubles. The most outrageous thing Lu Su had done was probably killing Sima Huai.

With a sigh, Lu Su adjusted himself into a more comfortable position on the sofa and entered meditation.

But he had not meditated for long before a disturbance interrupted him.

The moment Lu Su opened his eyes, he saw Fang Wenlong and Ji Weirui staring at him with strange expressions. "Master Fang, Master Ji—"

Before he could finish, Fang Wenlong cut him off. The gray-templed middle-aged man looked at him strangely. "Xiao Luo, I never expected you to have such a trick up your sleeve."

Hearing that, Lu Su froze. It seemed the two Masters did not think he was a mole sent by the Spirit Summoning Society.

Ji Weirui quickly answered the question in his heart.

The female Master Card Master chuckled lightly. "The World Consciousness would never favor a traitor."

Lu Su immediately understood.

Indeed, for a Human Traitor like Jin Ping, it was already fortunate that the World Consciousness had not personally descended to beat him up, let alone grant him the special favor Lu Su had received.

Of course, it was also possible that it had not descended to beat Jin Ping up because it could not.

From Lu Su’s several experiences, every appearance of the World Consciousness required the Observer’s Gaze Trait of Little Spider.

"Looks like It’s under more restrictions than I thought."

But this was not the time to think about that. Lu Su organized his thoughts, then asked, "What are the two Masters planning to do now?"

"Of course, inform Ye Diantang, then go on a killing spree."
