Dragon Dust’s Fury
Long Chen looked at Huang Shang, then glanced at Xia Changfeng in the distance. How could he not understand what was going on? He sneered and waved his hand.
As Long Chen reached out, everyone fell silent and watched him. Long Chen simply dropped one sentence: "I have no interest in fighting a prematurely aged dog."
For a moment, the entire audience was stunned; Long Chen had actually refused.
"So this is the number one youth of the Fengming Empire? Just a coward. How disappointing," Huang Shang said, shaking his head.
Long Chen sneered coldly. I've already jumped into one trap; would I jump into a second one? There isn't even any bait—do you take me for a fool?
"Let's go. Don't pay any attention to that dog."
Long Chen signaled to the others and began to walk away. He was anxious to return to refine the Beast Fire and had no time to waste on them.
"With your pathetic character, you dare to dream of the Third Princess? I advise you to stop acting like a toad lusting after swan meat. Does a piece of trash like you deserve her?" Seeing Long Chen leave, Huang Shang couldn't help but sneer.
Long Chen's body suddenly stiffened. Huang Shang had truly angered him. He didn't know when it happened, but Chu Yao had become a very important part of his life, and he absolutely would not allow anyone to trample on that.
However, anger was one thing; Long Chen still didn't want to confront Huang Shang right now. He didn't have enough confidence yet, so he continued walking away.
"I'll go meet him." Suddenly, Shi Feng let out a cold snort and headed straight for the arena.
Long Chen was shocked and hurriedly tried to grab Shi Feng, but Shi Feng was too fast. Long Chen missed, and Shi Feng had already leaped onto the high platform.
"Huang Shang, watch your mouth. Long Chen is not someone you can insult," Shi Feng said, pointing at Huang Shang with a stern expression.
Seeing Shi Feng take the stage, Huang Shang's eyes lit up, and a cruel smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. "Although you are the First Warrior of this tournament, you wouldn't even be able to block ten of my moves. You should just leave; don't embarrass yourself."
"Too arrogant."
"Despicable."
"Shi Feng, beat him to the ground!"
Shi Feng had just won the title of First Warrior, and his display of bravery had earned the admiration of countless people. Now, seeing someone from the Great Xia Empire insult him was an insult to the entire younger generation of the Fengming Empire.
"Shi Feng, get down here!" Long Chen had already reached the edge of the arena and shouted sternly at Shi Feng.
"See? He's telling you to get down because he's afraid you'll get hurt. You should just leave," Huang Shang advised calmly, though his words were more infuriating than any insult.
"Long Chen, I want to have a match with him," Shi Feng said.
"This is a trap. If you fight him, you are no longer a brother of mine," Long Chen said angrily.
"He can insult me, but he cannot insult you. No matter what, I must fight him today. I cannot listen to you this time."
Shi Feng stared at Huang Shang before him and said, "Make your move."
Huang Shang glanced at Shi Feng and nodded. "I didn't expect it, but you have more backbone than him. In light of your courage, if you can block ten of my moves, I'll consider it your victory."
"Arrogant!"
Furious, Shi Feng roared, his Qi and blood surging throughout his body. He stomped on the arena floor and dashed in front of Huang Shang, throwing a punch.
This punch concentrated all of Shi Feng's strength. A fierce wind whistled, tearing through the air; the sound was clearly audible even dozens of feet away.
"Good!"
Seeing such an impressive punch from Shi Feng, the crowd erupted into cheers, but Long Chen watched with secret anxiety.
"Bang!"
Shi Feng's unstoppable punch was forcefully blocked. Huang Shang caught the punch with one hand while keeping his other hand behind his back, his entire body remaining completely motionless.
"What?!"
The crowd was shocked. Shi Feng's punch had been incredibly powerful, yet it hadn't even shaken Huang Shang. Everyone's heart trembled violently.
"Is that all the strength you have?" Huang Shang shook his head, a look of disdain appearing at the corner of his mouth.
The shock in Shi Feng's heart instantly turned into burning rage. Before withdrawing his punch, he kicked fiercely toward Huang Shang's lower abdomen, while his right hand hooked toward Huang Shang's throat.
It was a double strike. The kick came first; logically, Huang Shang should have pulled in his abdomen to dodge, which would have allowed Shi Feng's other hand to lock onto his throat. It was a very clever move.
However, to Shi Feng's surprise, Huang Shang did not dodge. As Shi Feng kicked, Huang Shang also kicked, and his speed was incredibly fast—striking after, but arriving first.
"Bang!"
Huang Shang kicked Shi Feng's knee, producing a loud explosive sound. Shi Feng felt a sharp pain in his knee, and suddenly, his chest was struck by a palm.
Shi Feng stumbled back three steps. He realized his right knee was impaired, and before he could recover, Huang Shang had already closed in on him.
"Not bad. If you can't take it, you can admit defeat at any time."
While speaking, Huang Shang's movements didn't slow down at all. He reached out with one hand, aiming straight for Shi Feng's throat.
Shi Feng was shocked and hurriedly threw a punch to block the claw.
"Bang!"
As soon as Shi Feng's punch was thrown, it was grabbed by Huang Shang's large hand, and suddenly a great force surged through it.
"Crack!"
With a soft sound, one of Shi Feng's arms was actually snapped.
"Oops, sorry. I seem to have used too much strength."
Huang Shang smiled apologetically, but his palm didn't stop at all, striking down once more.
At this point, with one leg impaired, Shi Feng couldn't retreat in time and was struck on the shoulder by Huang Shang's palm.
A strange force surged through him. Shi Feng felt a tightness in his chest, as if a thousand-pound boulder were pressing down on him. He found it difficult to breathe and couldn't make a sound.
Only then did he realize that the gap between his strength and Huang Shang's was too vast. He wanted to speak, but he discovered he couldn't even manage that.
"Shi Feng, if you can't hold on, you can admit defeat at any time."
Huang Shang smiled slightly, but his eyes were filled with sinister coldness as he struck at Shi Feng's chest with his palm.
"Bang!"
With a loud explosion, Shi Feng flew back, vomiting a mouthful of blood as he soared toward the edge of the stage. The crowd let out a cry of alarm.
A figure leaped up lightly and caught Shi Feng. Long Chen looked and saw that Shi Feng's kneecaps were completely shattered, his arm was broken, and that last palm strike had even ruptured his meridians, nearly turning him into a cripple.
The entire venue fell into a deathly silence. No one had expected that Shi Feng, who had been invincible just moments ago, would be defeated so quickly, and so miserably at that.
"Brother Shi Feng was too stubborn, actually trying to take that palm strike head-on. I'm really… sorry." Standing on the stage, Huang Shang looked at Long Chen and the others, shrugging his hands helplessly.
However, deep within his gaze, Long Chen saw mockery, disdain, and deep contempt.
"Fists and kicks have no eyes. If there's anyone to blame, it's him for being incompetent yet trying to show off. It's a miracle he wasn't killed," Wei Cang said, shaking his head.
"Shut your mouth, you old lecher!"
Long Chen suddenly let out an angry roar that shook the surroundings. A powerful killing intent rose, making people's hearts tremble.
Even the marquises who had campaigned for years felt a palpitation in their hearts and couldn't help but be shocked.
Long Chen gave Shi Feng a healing pill and slowly walked onto the arena. Looking at Huang Shang on the stage, his voice was like shards of ice: "You wanted to force me into a duel, didn't you? Now, you can have your wish."
At this moment, Long Chen's killing intent was boiling. What he didn't know was that in his anger, the Fengfu beneath his feet was rapidly spinning.
What had originally been just a Chaos sphere gradually began to become clear. However, as time passed, it seemed as though some power was insufficient, and it slowly returned to its original state.
Long Chen turned his head, looked at Xia Changfeng, and pointed at his nose. "Xia Changfeng, you turtle-bastard, you just wait for me!"
"Empress Dowager, I wish to initiate a life-or-death duel with Huang Shang. I hope the Empress Dowager will grant permission."
Long Chen's last sentence was directed at the Empress Dowager. For a moment, the entire scene became as heavy as if it had frozen.
"Long Chen!" Looking at the enraged Long Chen, Chu Yao couldn't help but panic. She had never seen Long Chen so angry before, and her heart ached.
"Empress Dowager, a life-or-death duel is a display of heroic spirit; that is the true nature of a man. I believe such a move should be supported."
Seeing that Long Chen, in his anger, had actually initiated a life-or-death duel against Huang Shang, Wei Cang couldn't help but be overjoyed. With this duel, he could reclaim his Beast Fire.
Because in a life-or-death duel, all spoils of war from the deceased party belong to the victor.
The Empress Dowager was somewhat troubled and glanced at Great Master Yun Qi. Great Master Yun Qi was also looking at Long Chen with a solemn expression.
"Please, Great Master, grant this," Long Chen said, nodding.
Great Master Yun Qi sighed and said, "The Empress Dowager may decide this matter. This is a challenge initiated by Long Chen; the Guild has no right to interfere."
"Granted."
Following the Empress Dowager's command, no one could cheer. This was no longer a martial arts competition, but a bloody, life-or-death duel.
Xia Changfeng had just been cursed at by Long Chen, but he wasn't angry at all. He didn't need to get angry with a dead man.
This trap had gone very smoothly. He had originally intended for Huang Shang to "accidentally" kill Long Chen, but now that a duel had begun, he could kill Long Chen openly and satisfy the hatred in his heart.
Chu Yao watched Long Chen with a worried expression. That Huang Shang had defeated Shi Feng as if it were child's play; he was clearly an extremely powerful and terrifying opponent.
The people under the stage, who had been extremely disappointed because Long Chen refused to fight, were now shocked that he had brazenly initiated a life-or-death duel.
Some young girls covered their cherry lips, their eyes filled with admiration. The wildness Long Chen displayed deeply stirred their heartstrings.
Huang Shang looked at Long Chen, a sneer appearing at the corner of his mouth: "If you had come earlier, wouldn't your friend have been fine? You really are quite pathetic."
Long Chen didn't speak, standing there quietly, his entire body filled with a murderous Aura.
"I really hate your gaze. I've decided to gouge your eyes out first."
Huang Shang suddenly moved his feet, appearing in front of Long Chen like a ghost. His speed was shockingly fast, even faster than when he had fought Shi Feng.
"Get lost!"
A sharp shout, like a spring thunderclap shaking the heavens, vibrated in all directions. After the shout, a figure flew backward.
The crowd watched the stage in shock. Long Chen maintained his punching posture, while Huang Shang stood five zhang away, looking at Long Chen in shock.
"What happened?"
"I didn't see it clearly either."
"It looks like Long Chen sent Huang Shang flying with one punch."
There was a buzz of discussion under the stage. Fatty Yu and the others were the first to react, cheering, and the others began to follow suit.
Long Chen turned a deaf ear to the cheers from below and looked coldly at Huang Shang: "If I let you leave here alive today, I am not Long Chen."
"Boom!"
Suddenly, an Aura exploded from Long Chen's body, causing the space to tremble. A terrifying wave of energy radiated in all directions, rolling outward, causing everyone's expression to change instantly.
