Dragongallbladder Appears, Wide Sleeves Flow Like an Immortal

Qing Wei nodded. "As long as you’re confident you can handle this matter."

Su Yu smiled and patted Jing Tian on the shoulder. "Xiao Tian, don’t worry. I’ll go with you. Treat this mission as training for yourself. Don’t be afraid of kicking the bucket—I won’t let any of you die."

Moved, Jing Tian threw his arms around Su Yu. "Yu Ge, you’re really something!"

Qing Wei and the other four looked at Su Yu in surprise. Qing Wei asked, "Young friend, you’re going too?"

"Of course I’m going. But I’m only going to sightsee, so don’t expect me to help you find any Spirit Pearls," Su Yu said.

Qing Wei gave a bitter smile and nodded. "All right. If you can accompany them and keep them safe, I’ll be at ease."

The next morning, Su Yu, Jing Tian, Xu Changqing, and Meng Qi left Mount Shu. Xu Changqing carried a large pack on his back, containing the box and a helmet.

At the foot of Mount Shu, Xu Changqing looked at the three of them. "Brother Su, Brother Jing, where are you going now?"

Su Yu said, "To Yu Zhou City. We’ll send Little Qi home first, and there are some other matters that need arranging."

Jing Tian nodded. Xu Changqing said, "Then let’s split up. I need to capture those fleeing demons first. In a few days, I’ll go to Yu Zhou City to find you."

"Sure." Su Yu nodded.

Xu Changqing then flew away on his sword. Su Yu looked at Jing Tian and Meng Qi. "Let’s go."

The three hurried toward Yu Zhou. Before long, they returned to Yu Zhou City. Jing Tian immediately went back to Yong’an Pawnshop, while Su Yu and Meng Qi first returned to Meng Qi’s home.

Meng Qi’s grandfather was getting old, and Meng Qi wanted to cultivate diligently, so he did not plan to accompany Su Yu and the others in searching for the Spirit Pearls or dealing with the box.

After seeing Meng Qi home, Su Yu headed for Tang Mansion. Wolf Lord had recently been serving as Tang Xuejian’s bodyguard, and he had become quite the figure within Tang Mansion.

Because Su Yu existed in this life, Tang Kun had not died, so Tang Xuejian had not ended up wandering the streets.

Su Yu found Tang Xuejian and said, "Xue Jian, in a few days we’ll be leaving Yu Zhou City to search for the Spirit Pearls. Do you want to come with us?"

Tang Xuejian asked in confusion, "What Spirit Pearls?"

Su Yu promptly explained what had happened at the Demon Lock Tower, though he did not mention where the box had come from. After pondering for a moment, Tang Xuejian asked, "That big idiot, you, and Daoist Xu are all going?"

Su Yu nodded slightly. "Are you going or not? It’s fine if you don’t. Whether you go or not, I’ll leave Little Ha behind to protect Tang Mansion."

Tang Xuejian considered it, then made up her mind. "Uncle, I’m going! A man lives but one lifetime, like grass living through one autumn. If it isn’t exciting, I’d be letting myself down!"

"All right. We’ll call for you when we leave. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going first." With that, Su Yu left Tang Mansion. After leaving, he headed to Yong’an Pawnshop.

The moment he entered Yong’an Pawnshop, he heard Jing Tian bragging. Listening to him were a skinny man and a fat man. Su Yu had met both of them on previous visits to Yong’an Pawnshop. They were He Biping and Xu Maoshan.

"Yu Ge, you’re here!" Mao Mao said happily the moment he saw Su Yu.

Su Yu patted Mao Mao on the shoulder. "Mao Mao, is this guy bragging again?"

Mao Mao smiled. "I believe in Boss. Boss will definitely become a great hero someday."

Jing Tian suddenly felt embarrassed upon hearing that. He walked over to Su Yu. "Yu Ge, what brings you here?"

"Nothing much. I came to check on you. Have you arranged your affairs?" Su Yu asked.

Jing Tian nodded. "Don’t worry, Yu Ge. I’ve already told Steward Zhao that I won’t be working here anymore. Oh, and Mao Mao wants to come with us. Is that all right?"

"Of course. But the journey will be dangerous. Mao Mao, can you endure hardship?" Su Yu asked, looking at Mao Mao.

Mao Mao immediately thumped his chest. "Don’t worry, Yu Ge. If Boss can do it, so can I!"

Su Yu smiled. "That’s good."

Looking at Mao Mao’s honest, simple face, Su Yu recalled the plot of Immortal Sword Three. Of everyone in it, his favorite was not Jing Tian, but Mao Mao.

From beginning to end, Mao Mao knew neither martial arts nor magic. He had always been everyone’s lackey, taking on all the exhausting and difficult work. He had no dream of becoming some towering hero, only the simple wishes of an ordinary person.

Especially after Evil Sword Immortal appeared, Mao Mao cut off his own flesh in exchange for grain so that others could have enough to eat. He stuffed straw into his stomach and thighs, and Su Yu clearly remembered that even as a grown man, he had been unable to stop himself from crying when he saw that scene.

Mao Mao’s death was the scene Su Yu least wanted to witness. He had already decided that even if he could not make Mao Mao an unparalleled master, he would still make him one of the most outstanding people among ordinary men.

The following evening, Jing Tian returned to Yong’an Pawnshop. They would be leaving in just a couple of days, and he suddenly found himself reluctant to part with the place. After all, he had grown up here. Every blade of grass and every tree held memories.

Just as Jing Tian was alone, reminiscing about the past, a girl’s voice suddenly rang out. "Brother Wang."

Jing Tian froze. Why was there a girl in Yong’an Pawnshop so late at night? Turning around, he saw a girl in ragged clothes rush toward him. She threw her arms around him and cried, "Brother Wang, I finally found you."

"M-Miss, have you mistaken me for someone else? I’m not your Brother Wang," Jing Tian said in panic.

The girl held Jing Tian tightly. "I can’t be mistaken. You are my Brother Wang."

Jing Tian was speechless. That sounded so familiar… What the hell, who did I offend? Why am I being mistaken for someone else again?

Fortunately, she was not some extremist like that red-haired one. Jing Tian gently pushed the girl away from him. "Miss, you really have the wrong person. Sigh, never mind that for now. I’ll find you some clothes first."

As he spoke, Jing Tian hurried over to a large chest inside Yong’an Pawnshop and took out a long blue dress.

"The Wide Sleeve Flowing Immortal Dress… Brother Wang, you gave me this dress once before…" The girl was so moved at the sight of the blue dress that she nearly cried.

Jing Tian immediately handed the Wide Sleeve Flowing Immortal Dress to the girl. "Go change quickly."

The girl accepted the dress with a happy smile and nodded. "Dragongallbladder will go change now."

With that, Dragongallbladder ran into a room inside Yong’an Pawnshop. Not long afterward, she emerged wearing the Wide Sleeve Flowing Immortal Dress. Jing Tian looked her over. "It suits you quite well."
