Driving Away

"No need. Given the Kree’s nature, they’ll open the elevator soon enough. Get ready."

Ivan grinned and suddenly lunged forward. The energy on his body rapidly gathered into the whip in his left hand. He swung it at White Mist, and a tiny black hole appeared at the tip of the whip. White Mist was uncontrollably sucked into the black hole and died on the spot.

The moment White Mist died, another Inhuman rushed up and wrapped Ivan in her hair. Then she shouted, and dazzling electricity erupted from her hair, turning the surroundings white.

When the electric glow faded, the hair Inhuman stared at Ivan in astonishment, unable to understand why he was completely unharmed and still looked fully charged.

Ivan offered no explanation. With a swing of his whip, the hair Inhuman was split in two.

Next, Ivan strode toward the imitation Absorbing Man. The imitation Absorbing Man absorbed a massive amount of energy and smashed it fiercely toward Ivan.

"Weak. You’re far too weak."

Ivan transformed the whip in his right hand into a Thunder Light Cannon and fired a Lightning Beam. The imitation Absorbing Man’s energy lasted only a moment before being destroyed, and then the Lightning Beam struck him.

The imitation Absorbing Man let out a roar and desperately absorbed the lightning energy. At the same time, an Inhuman appeared in front of him, her eyes gleaming with a strange light as she looked at Ivan.

The instant Ivan met those eyes, his consciousness became blurry. Then he found himself in an estate, where Pepper was staring at him unhappily and chiding, "What are you spacing out for? Our baby is calling for you to hold him."

Ivan looked down and saw an adorable baby waving at him and babbling. A sincere smile flashed across his somewhat ugly face.

But Ivan did not pick up the baby. He said, "This is the scene I’ve dreamed of, but unfortunately, I’m not a coward like Tony Stark. I won’t let myself become immersed in an illusion. No matter how cruel reality is, I will never retreat. I, Ivan Vanko, may not be a good man, but I’ve always been tough."

At the same time, in reality, a Thunder Dragon Phantom filled with majesty and fury appeared behind Ivan. Then, it let out a thunderous low roar at the Illusion Inhuman. The Illusion Inhuman was instantly struck by backlash, her mind going blank as she collapsed.

At the same time, the energy absorbed by the imitation Absorbing Man exceeded its limit. With a boom, he exploded, blasting several nearby Inhumans away.

"A bunch of idiots. Inhuman abilities need to be developed. No one can become invincible in an instant. That isn’t scientific."

Ivan sneered and led the Drone Armor in swiftly destroying the Kree’s defensive line.

"That guy is too powerful."

The Kree commander gritted his teeth and shouted, "Go down and activate the Antimatter Bomb. If humanity refuses to compromise, we’ll perish together with them."

"Alright."

A scientist immediately activated the elevator. Then, under everyone’s protection, he rushed into it. Ant-Man and Wasp took the opportunity to fly inside.

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, Baron Strucker rushed out from a small side door with Wanda and several Inhumans, shouting, "Wait! We’re coming down too."

The Kree scientist hesitated, then left the doors open. Baron Strucker and the others successfully rushed into the elevator. The doors closed, and it rapidly descended.

Ant-Man asked somewhat hesitantly, "Ms. Carter, can the two of us handle this?"

"No problem. And there are more than just two of us."

Carter smiled. Pym Particles were truly too useful. Even she could not help thinking they should have seized them sooner.

Let us rewind time a little. Outside a private hospital in New York, a candidate led several thousand people in shouting for Iron Man and the government to kill the reincarnated Demon King.

Over the past few days, with the massive funding and evidence provided by Hydra, more and more people had begun believing the candidate. Those conservative forces had also joined in, pressuring Iron Man to give up his child.

The New York Police Department had dispatched a large number of officers early in the morning to maintain order. These officers still believed in Iron Man to some extent, but there was nothing they could do, because the FBI had also sent a large number of agents over under the pretext of maintaining order.

God knew when the FBI had ever done such a thing.

Strange looked at the protesters outside and sneered. "Mr. Stark, your Money Power is really disappointing. Not only have there not been fewer people outside, there are even more now."

Tony stared at the screen broadcasting the battle in Sokovia and cursed irritably, "Damn FBI. Once this is over, I’ll make that Director step down."

"It’s not just the FBI. There’s also that damned candidate."

Wind Demon cursed through gritted teeth. That candidate had exposed his demon identity, causing him to face widespread doubts and sending his fan count plummeting.

"I just hope those Demon God Believers don’t make a move now. Otherwise, things will get troublesome."

Strange spoke with concern. Tony said, "Don’t worry. Sokovia has been completely sealed off. Those people won’t know that S.W.O.R.D. is tied down. Damn it, if it weren’t for this mess, I should be on the battlefield."

"Hahaha."

At that moment, laughter suddenly came from nearby. Tony turned and asked in confusion, "Mindy, weren’t you keeping Pepper company? What are you doing here? And what are you laughing at?"

The previous battle had made Pepper very fond of Mindy. Mindy had taken the opportunity to come over every day, hoping to get in on a fight or two.

Mindy giggled. "Master told me that Tony Stark is either getting humiliated or on his way to getting humiliated. I didn’t believe it before, but now I completely do."

Everyone could not help laughing—except Tony, Strange, Electro, Spider-Man, Harry, Absorbing Man, Damon, and the other Super Heroes.

Tony said angrily, "That brat Bert actually talks bad about me behind my back?"

Damon asked, "Is that really the point? Mindy, how did Tony get humiliated?"

"Top-secret news. The righteous people and the Demon God Believers already know about Sokovia and are heading here."

Mindy’s expression turned serious as she said, "The righteous people include Holy Light Warriors and magic families. As for the Demon God Believers, there may be several hundred of them, roughly speaking."

"What?"

Everyone was shocked. Damon hurriedly asked, "Mindy, is that true or not?"

"Of course it’s true. Annie told me."

Mindy said seriously, "I won’t go into the details. We need to prepare for battle immediately."

"This has nothing to do with you. Go protect Pepper."

Damon said irritably. Mindy pouted and stubbornly stayed where she was.

Strange said, "The rest is manageable. First, we need to drive away the people outside. Otherwise, they’ll become tools for the Demon God Believers."

"They won’t be easy to drive away. Even if I tell them a war is about to break out here, they won’t leave."

Tony frowned deeply. "The only way to drive them away would be to pretend to fire at them, but then Stark Industries would be in serious trouble. And even more people might come—the FBI, the military, the police."

Wind Demon suggested, "How about we blame it on a program malfunction?"

"You’re overthinking it. If it comes from Stark Industries, it has to be top quality."

Tony said impatiently, "No one would believe that excuse."

Strange said, "If it comes down to it, I can pull all the enemies into the Mirror Dimension. But I’m not confident I can trap all of them. There are simply too many people."

"There really are a bit too many."

Everyone frowned. At that moment, Mindy shouted from the side, "What’s so hard about that? As long as you agree to let me stay, I’ll handle it for you."

Tony said, "Mindy, that move of yours is useless. Whether those people faint or not makes no difference to the Demon God Believers."

Mindy smiled. "Not fainting. A different move."

"Fine. If you can really solve it, then you can stay."

Damon said. Mindy had the Dragonhide Bracers, so nothing should happen to her. Otherwise, he would never have agreed to let her come here.

Even Damon was tempted by those Dragonhide Bracers. Of course, he was even more dissatisfied. You gave such an expensive gift—what am I supposed to do? "You said it, Quicksilver."

Mindy was overjoyed and immediately called over her underling. The next moment, Quicksilver suddenly appeared and asked weakly, "What are your orders?"

Over the past few days, Quicksilver had been tormented miserably by Mindy, that little demon. Compared to her, Lina’s appetite might have been terrifyingly huge, but at least she did not deliberately torment him.

"Take this, then do this and this…"

Mindy whispered instructions into Quicksilver’s ear. His eyes lit up, and he nodded repeatedly. "I’ve disliked that guy for a long time. Leave it to me."

With that, Quicksilver took the item Mindy handed him and rapidly disappeared.

Mindy clapped her hands and said, "Alright, activate the Defense Shield."

"What exactly is your plan?"

As Tony had Friday activate the Defense Shield, he asked curiously. The Defense Shield consumed a great deal of energy, so it had not been activated earlier.

Mindy giggled. "You’ll find out soon enough."

Outside the hospital, the candidate held a microphone and gave a loud speech. "No one understands demons better than I do. Demons are cruel. Once that Demon King is born, he will destroy the entire world. We must make Iron Man hand over his child. And that Wind Demon really is a demon. He must have another motive for becoming a Super Hero. I strongly demand that the military arrest him and dissect him for research."

"Kill the Demon King! Kill the Demon King…"

The protesters around him shouted loudly. If the police had not stopped them, and if the Drone Armor had not been watching them like tigers, they would have rushed inside long ago.

"That’s right, kill the Demon King."

The candidate laughed loudly. Just as he was about to keep inciting the crowd, an enormous fart sounded behind him.

"Who farted? That was so loud?"

The candidate was stunned, only to find everyone covering their noses and looking at him with disgust. Just as he was about to explain, an indescribable stench rose from his body. The people around him nearly fainted, and some even began vomiting on the spot.

It was simply too foul, comparable to a sewer that had not been cleaned in ten thousand years.

The candidate himself was nearly overcome by the smell and dry-heaved in place. He cursed furiously in his heart, How despicable! They actually used biochemical weapons? And framed me?

Unable to endure the stench, everyone fled from the hospital entrance, only to discover that the smell still lingered. After hesitating, they either drove away or ran off, leaving the area completely.

The protest could happen anytime. There was no need for it to be today. They needed to leave this ‘human hell’ first—they did not know that the stench was actually coming from their clothes.

That bastard’s fart was way too foul, wasn’t it?

Many people cursed inwardly. Several reporters professionally took photos while coming up with tomorrow’s headline: "America Develops New Biochemical Weapon: Candidate’s Fart."

In just a few minutes, all several thousand protesters had vanished. Not even the police, FBI, or media remained.

As for the nearby residents, they had all moved away some time ago—Tony had paid for it. The hospital was in the suburbs, and there were not many people around anyway.

Everyone inside the hospital was dumbfounded. Although the Defense Shield isolated the smell, they still felt as if it stank and could not help covering their noses—it was purely psychological.

Tony looked speechlessly at Mindy. The protest had indeed been driven away, but was this method not a little too disgusting?

"My Stink Bomb worked well, right? I had Osborn Corporation develop it for me."

Mindy said proudly, "Oh, and I also have a Vomiting and Diarrhea Sonic Device. Once activated, it can make someone vomit and have diarrhea. It would be very useful against those protesters."

"Vomiting and diarrhea? Spare them, and spare our eyes while you’re at it."

Tony complained. He remembered Pepper saying she hoped their daughter would be like Mindy, and immediately wiped away a cold sweat. If she turned out like that, would he even survive?

Spider-Man could not help feeling fortunate. Fortunately, Mindy usually only beat him up and never used gadgets on him—he had always been a sparring partner at Dragon Subduing Teahouse.

"Hand over all that weird junk. Without my permission, you are not allowed to research this kind of thing again."

Damon said darkly. This daughter of his was becoming more and more lawless.

"I paid to have those things custom-made. Why should I hand them over to you?"

Mindy was quite dissatisfied, so she hurriedly changed the subject. "Alright, the righteous people and the Demon God Believers will be here soon. Everyone, get ready for battle."

Upon hearing that, no one wasted any more words and began preparing for battle.

In order to catch Iron Man off guard, the righteous people and the Demon God Believers did not head to the hospital with great fanfare. Instead, they traveled there in large and small vehicles like ordinary people—they were not mixed together, but acted separately. Good and evil could not coexist.

As for taking vehicles, there was nothing strange about that. They were not primitive people.

"This feels so lacking in style. Shouldn’t we be charging toward the hospital with black smoke billowing and holy light covering the ground?"

In the Demon God Believers’ convoy, an Inhuman could not help complaining. Viper gave him an expressionless glance, and the Inhuman immediately shut up, not daring to say another word.

"The vibe is indeed a little off."

Viper also complained inwardly. A group of Demon God Believers holding skulls in their hands and wearing black cloaks—people who clearly looked like no good—sitting on a bus looked strange no matter how one saw it.

Perhaps that was why no one was speaking. Of course, it might also have been because they were trying to act mysterious.

It was worth mentioning that the righteous people and the Demon God Believers were acting now because Viper had informed them of the news.

With S.W.O.R.D. unable to spare any attention now, this was the best time to strike. As for Pepper not having given birth yet, what did that matter? By this stage, the baby had long since formed.

And Viper had called them here so that they could serve as cannon fodder. Everyone understood that without saying it aloud.

"My God, I will definitely seize the Demon King’s reincarnation for you."

Viper stroked the Viper Ring, her face full of fervor. As long as she succeeded this time, she would have whatever she wanted in the future.
