Earth’s Strongest Four-Man Team!
Rumble!
The entire Star Arena shook violently, and the protective barrier groaned under the strain. Only when over a hundred Lord-Level powerhouses acted together did they barely stabilize the situation.
When the dust finally settled, the sight on the battlefield made everyone gasp.
The entire arena had been split in two. One half was shrouded in black deathly energy, where not a blade of grass could grow; the other was covered in thick, crystalline ice.
Carlos knelt on the ground. The Scythe of Death had broken into two pieces, and his black cloak was in tatters, exposing his pale face. Black blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. He had clearly been seriously injured.
Christina was not much better off. She was half-kneeling on the ice, her gorgeous dress damaged, her golden hair disheveled, and even the Crystal Scepter had cracked.
"Cough, cough…" Carlos struggled to his feet. "What… terrifying power."
"You weren’t bad either." Christina rose as well. "To wield the Law of Death to such a degree, you truly deserve your title as the Cosmic Mercenary Alliance’s number-one assassin."
The two exchanged a glance, each seeing respect in the other’s eyes.
"The victor has been decided." The referee appeared between them. "The winner is Ice Queen Christina of the Star River Empire!"
Though both had suffered severe injuries, Christina was clearly in better condition than Carlos. In their final clash, her Absolute Zero had ultimately prevailed.
Thunderous applause erupted across the arena. This clash of death and ice was no less spectacular than any of the previous battles.
"That was incredible!" Thor said excitedly. "The fifth profound meaning of the Ice Source truly lives up to its reputation!"
"Carlos’s Law of Death was powerful too," Luo Wen analyzed. "Especially that Return of the Dead move. If he hadn’t faced Christina’s Absolute Zero, I’m afraid very few people could have stopped it."
"This is the strength of top-tier geniuses." Hong sighed. "Each of them has their own signature technique."
Luo Feng looked thoughtful. "It seems we need to work even harder as well. The fourth round isn’t over yet. Next, it’ll be our turn."
"Yeah." Luo Wen nodded. "I wonder what kind of opponents we’ll face."
With the conclusion of Christina and Carlos’s battle, the fourth round of matches came to a temporary close. The host announced that today’s matches were over, and the remaining duels would continue tomorrow.
"Today was really satisfying." Thor stretched lazily. "But I’m tired too. Come on, let’s eat!"
"We do need to replenish our energy." Luo Wen nodded. "I know a good restaurant nearby that specializes in delicacies from various starfields."
The four of them left the Star Arena and arrived at an upscale restaurant not far away. The decor was luxurious, and every private room had its own gravity adjustment system that could alter the environment according to the guests’ needs.
"Get us your best private room." Thor waved a hand grandly. "I’m treating today!"
The waiter respectfully led them to a VIP room on the top floor. Through the holographic floor-to-ceiling windows, they could overlook the nighttime scenery of the entire Starry Sky City. Countless aircraft darted through the sky, while the distant Star Arena remained brightly lit.
"What should we order?" Hong flipped through the holographic menu. "They have food from more than three thousand galaxies."
"Bring out a few bottles of good wine first!" Thor said excitedly. "To celebrate my draw with Saro today."
"You call that a draw?" Luo Feng laughed. "The referee was clearly afraid you two would tear down the arena, so he forcibly ended the match."
"Haha, it still counts as a draw!" Thor did not care in the slightest. "Come on, let’s have a drink first!"
The four raised their glasses and drank heartily, and the atmosphere gradually grew livelier.
"Come to think of it, we’ve been away from Earth for quite some time now." Luo Wen suddenly sighed. "I wonder how things are back home."
His words abruptly quieted the room. All four of them were from Earth. Though they were now fighting on behalf of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire, their hearts remained tied to that blue planet.
"There shouldn’t be any problems," Hong said. "With Limit Martial Hall and Thunder Martial Hall there, Earth’s defenses should be fine."
"Yeah, and before we left, Earth’s overall strength had already improved considerably," Luo Feng added. "All the major base cities have established complete defense systems."
Thor took a sip of wine, his gaze turning distant. "Do you remember when we first met? Back then, Earth was still fighting monsters for living space."
"Who would have thought that we’d now be standing on the stage of the universe, competing against geniuses from every starfield?" Luo Wen said with feeling.
"Still, Earth’s status in the universe is far too low." Hong frowned. "If the four of us hadn’t risen to prominence, Earth would probably have been carved up by other civilizations long ago."
"That’s why we must become stronger." Luo Feng’s expression turned serious. "Only by becoming strong enough can we protect Earth and protect our home."
"Well said!" Thor slammed the table. "Once this competition ends, our strength will definitely rise to another level. When that happens, whoever dares set their sights on Earth will have to answer to me first!"
"That said, Earth really does have many unique qualities." Luo Wen looked thoughtful. "The fact that the four of us rose so quickly is probably connected to Earth’s special environment."
"Indeed." Hong nodded. "Earth may seem backward in the universe, but its environment is especially suited for cultivation. In particular, Mental Power is much easier to improve there than on other planets."
"And those ancient ruins," Luo Feng added. "I’ve always felt that Earth’s history is not so simple."
As the four continued talking, their conversation eventually returned to the competition.
"It’ll be the three of us tomorrow," Luo Feng said. "Luo Wen has already fought once, and he performed exceptionally well."
"You flatter me." Luo Wen spoke modestly. "My battle with Adol was only a narrow victory."
"That Prairie Fire: Return to Oneness move of yours was truly impressive." Thor praised him. "You brought the Law of Fire to its limit."
"Luo Feng, you’re facing Shadow Mode tomorrow. Are you confident?" Hong asked.
"There shouldn’t be a problem." Luo Feng smiled faintly. "The Shadow Law may be strange and unpredictable, but my Gold Law happens to counter it."
"The Gold Law?" Luo Wen was surprised. "I thought Space Law was your main focus."
"Space Law is too profound. Right now, I only understand a little of it." Luo Feng explained, "But I’ve already comprehended the fourth level of the Gold Law."
"The fourth level?" Thor’s eyes widened. "You’ve been hiding yourself well, brat!"
"And your Mental Power," Hong added. "As far as I know, it has already reached the limit of Star-Level ninth rank."
Luo Feng merely smiled without answering, clearly still keeping more trump cards hidden.
It was late at night. The four had drunk enough to feel slightly tipsy, but their fighting spirit only burned brighter.
"Tomorrow, let those so-called geniuses see what Earth’s power truly means!" Thor raised his glass.
"To Earth!" the four shouted in unison.
The next morning, the Star Arena was once again packed with people.
The remaining matches of the fourth round were about to begin, and the first was a highly anticipated duel:
Division 12, Black Dragon Mountain Empire, Luo Feng VS Abyss Empire, Shadow Mode
Luo Feng slowly stepped onto the battlefield. His black Battle Armor gleamed with a metallic luster beneath the sunlight. A Dark-Veined Blade was slung diagonally across his back, its blade covered in mysterious golden patterns.
"Is that the legendary Dark-Veined Blade?" someone in the audience cried out.
"They say it was forged from a special metal and can perfectly conduct the power of the Gold Law."
"Even Luo Feng’s weapon is this extraordinary."
Across from him, Shadow Mode had already taken his position. He still wore a black bodysuit, as though he could meld into the shadows at any moment.
"I’ve heard you’re strong." Mode’s voice was low. "I hope you won’t disappoint me."
Luo Feng said nothing. He merely slowly drew the Dark-Veined Blade. The instant it left its sheath, a sharp, piercing aura swept forward.
"Begin!"
The moment the referee spoke, Mode used Shadow Sneak and vanished from where he stood.
Luo Feng remained motionless, closing his eyes as his Mental Power spread in every direction like a tide.
"Found you." He abruptly opened his eyes and slashed diagonally with the Dark-Veined Blade.
Clang!
The sound of metal striking metal rang out as Mode was forced out of the shadows. The shadow dagger in his hand collided with the Dark-Veined Blade, sending sparks flying.
"Quick reaction." Mode retreated several steps. "But this is only the beginning."
He formed hand seals with both hands, and the entire battlefield suddenly darkened. Countless shadowy tentacles rose from the ground, winding toward Luo Feng like living creatures.
Shadow Shackles!
Luo Feng remained calm. With a light tremor of the Dark-Veined Blade, the golden patterns on its surface suddenly lit up.
Gold Law – Sharp Edge!
Streams of golden blade energy shot from the weapon, severing every shadow tentacle. The sharpness of the Gold Law was displayed to its fullest at that moment.
"You have some skill." Mode’s gaze turned solemn. "Then try this! Shadow Doppelganger – Hundred Shadows!"
In an instant, more than a hundred Modes appeared across the battlefield, each radiating dense shadowy energy.
"There may be many of them, but they’re all fake." Luo Feng sneered as his Mental Power spread out once more.
Under the perception of his Mental Power, he instantly locked onto Mode’s true body. With a sweep of the Dark-Veined Blade, a massive golden blade aura swept outward.
Gold Law – Army Breaker!
Every doppelganger in its path dissolved into nothingness. Mode’s true body was forced to reveal itself, dodging the pursuing blade aura in a sorry state.
"Damn it!" Mode gritted his teeth. "Shadow Domain!"
The entire battlefield was swallowed by darkness, and even sunlight could not penetrate it. Within this darkness, Mode moved as freely as a fish in water, his body as fast as lightning.
"In my domain, you’re blind!" Mode’s voice came from every direction.
Luo Feng stood in the darkness, but a faint smile appeared on his face. "Is that so? Then you underestimate Mental Power too much."
His Mental Power erupted in full, scanning the entire domain like radar. Not even the slightest movement could escape his perception.
"Here!" Luo Feng suddenly turned and thrust the Dark-Veined Blade behind him.
Pfft!
The blade pierced Mode’s shoulder with perfect accuracy, sending blood spraying.
"How is that possible?" Mode cried in shock. "How can you see me in the dark?"
"Mental Power perception is more reliable than eyes." Luo Feng replied calmly. "And your Shadow Domain has no suppressive effect on my Gold Law."
As he spoke, dazzling golden light suddenly burst from his body. The power of the Gold Law was unleashed in full, making him seem like a golden sun.
Gold Law – Dawn!
Golden light surged like a tide, tearing apart the dark domain. Mode’s shadow power crumbled before it.
"Impossible!" Mode roared unwillingly. "Shadow Law – Soul Eater!"
He launched his strongest attack with everything he had. Countless strands of shadow power condensed into a massive black dragon, which opened its jaws and lunged at Luo Feng.
"It’s over." Luo Feng’s gaze sharpened as he raised the Dark-Veined Blade high above his head.
Gold Law – Fourth Profound Meaning – Vajra Slash!
A golden blade aura shot into the heavens, transforming into a massive vajra blade. Wherever it passed, even space trembled.
Boom!
The vajra blade collided with the shadow black dragon, erupting with world-destroying energy waves. The entire battlefield shook violently.
When the dust settled, Mode was lying on the ground with a deep blade wound across his chest. Luo Feng still stood tall, golden light flickering across the Dark-Veined Blade.
"The winner is Luo Feng of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire!"
The entire arena erupted in cheers. Luo Feng’s performance had shocked everyone. He had not only demonstrated the formidable Gold Law, but also terrifying control over his Mental Power.
"Luo Feng is getting stronger and stronger," Thor sighed from the audience.
"The fourth level of the Gold Law, combined with Star-Level ninth-rank Mental Power, is truly terrifying." Hong nodded.
"And he still hasn’t used all his trump cards." Luo Wen looked thoughtful. "In that battle just now, he didn’t even use Space Law."
On the battlefield, Luo Feng sheathed the Dark-Veined Blade and slowly walked down. His expression remained calm, as though the battle had merely been an ordinary spar.
"Next match: Black Dragon Mountain Empire, Hong VS Star Empire, Light Knight Leo!"
"My turn." Hong rose to his feet, radiating an aura as imposing as a mountain range.
"Good luck." Luo Feng patted his shoulder.
Hong nodded and strode toward the battlefield. His opponent, Leo, had been waiting for some time. Clad in silver-white armor and holding the Sword of Light, he radiated a sacred brilliance.
"Light Knight?" Hong narrowed his eyes. "Interesting."
The two faced each other as a new battle was about to begin.
At the same time, Luo Feng returned to the audience and accepted the energy drink Luo Wen handed him.
"Well done." Luo Wen smiled.
"It was all right." Luo Feng answered modestly. "Mode’s Shadow Law was indeed strange. If my Gold Law hadn’t happened to counter him, it would have taken some effort."
"Your Mental Power control was impressive too." Thor praised him. "To precisely lock onto your opponent in complete darkness isn’t something just anyone can do."
"It’s thanks to Earth’s special environment." Luo Feng said. "Cultivating Mental Power there really does yield twice the result with half the effort."
The four chatted, but their eyes remained fixed on the battlefield. Hong and Leo’s battle had already begun, and the clash between light and earth was equally thrilling.
"Looks like today will be another exciting day." Luo Wen sighed.
"Yeah." Luo Feng nodded. "And tomorrow is the fifth round. The opponents will be even stronger."
"So what?" Thor was brimming with confidence. "We’re Earth’s strongest four-man team!"
The four exchanged smiles, their eyes burning with fighting spirit.
