Eternals
"Is that so?"
Wang Bert neither confirmed nor denied it. He said, "Let me introduce myself first. I’m Blood God, from the Main Universe—or rather, another universe. For now, I’m calling the shots here."
"Another universe?"
Sersi and the white-haired woman were both shocked. Nick Fury said from the side, "Blood God is the helper we invited. Only he can deal with Iron Man."
At that moment, Tony, Hawkeye, and the others entered the living room. Tony asked curiously, "Where are the Eternals? How are they different from us humans?"
"Iron Man!"
The moment Sersi and the white-haired woman, Tina, saw Tony, their expressions changed. Then Tina’s eyes turned white as she used Cosmic Energy to form a spear and thrust it fiercely at Iron Man.
Tony jumped in fright. Just then, Wang Bert grabbed Tina’s spear and crushed it in his hand, turning it into specks of light that scattered away.
Then Wang Bert threw a punch at Tina, an unstoppable punch that seemed capable of destroying heaven and earth. Tina’s expression changed, and she hurriedly formed an energy shield in front of herself.
With a boom, Wang Bert’s fist shattered the energy shield. Tina was sent flying, slammed into the wall, and fell to the ground, coughing up blood.
At the same time, Tina’s eyes returned to normal, meaning she had regained her sanity—Wang Bert had literally beaten her back to her senses.
"Blood God, please show mercy. Tina has Mahd Wy’ry. She didn’t mean it just now."
Sersi hurried over and stood in front of Wang Bert. "Iron Man captured Gilgamesh. She hates Iron Man deeply."
"I’m not the Iron Man who attacked your Eternals."
Tony said, "But I don’t think he did anything wrong. If it were me, I would have gone after the Eternals too."
Sersi helped Tina up and said, "Most Eternals bear no hostility toward humanity. For example, Tina once protected you under the name Athena."
"She’s Athena?"
Everyone was surprised. Hawkeye sighed, "First Thor, then Athena. So all our myths were real."
Director Fury snorted. "No, all myths were fake, because those gods were all aliens."
"Miss, I hope you’ll tell us everything about the Eternals in detail."
Wang Bert said, "And by the way, this isn’t Iron Man. He’s Iron Man’s illegitimate son, Little Tony Stark."
Sersi and Tina suddenly understood. "No wonder he looks so much like him."
Everyone burst out laughing. Tony gave Wang Bert the middle finger with a dark expression. What kind of lousy Creator God was this? His personality was awful.
Then everyone sat down and listened as Sersi told them the history of the Eternals. Sersi said, "There are two versions of our history, one false and one true. Let’s start with the false one."
Tony asked in confusion, "What’s there to say about a false history?"
"For the past seven thousand years, we believed it was true."
Sersi gave a bitter smile. "We came from Olympia Star. Arishem of the Celestial Group assigned us to Earth to eliminate Deviants. Deviants are strange beasts that feed on intelligent life."
As she spoke, Sersi used a golden device to project images of the Deviants. Simply put, they were monsters that looked somewhat like beasts.
Sersi continued, "Every sun in this universe was created by the Celestial Group, so we always believed we were on the side of justice."
"All suns were created by the Celestial Group?"
Everyone was stunned. Tony could not help asking, "Since you thought you were righteous, why didn’t you show up when Thanos came to Earth?"
"We were only responsible for fighting Deviants. Everything else was outside our jurisdiction."
Sersi shook her head. "In fact, quite a few Eternals didn’t agree with that philosophy. They wanted to help humanity, which caused the Eternals to split apart several hundred years ago."
Director Fury asked, "You split up?"
"Yes, we split up. For some reason, Iron Man knew the whereabouts of every one of us. He came after us and picked us off one by one. In the end, only Tina and I escaped his clutches. The others were either killed or captured by him."
"Because he knows the future."
Wang Bert shook his head. "We’ve heard the false history. What about the true one?"
"Our leader on Earth was named Ajak. Only she could communicate with Arishem."
Sersi said, "Before she died, she gave me the golden sphere that could contact Arishem. Through it, I contacted Arishem, and in order to make me complete the mission, Arishem told me the whole truth.
"I always thought I was only seven thousand years old, but that wasn’t true. I’m already several million years old. The others are the same."
Tony said exaggeratedly, "Several million years old? Ma’am, you’ve maintained yourself very well."
"Thank you for the compliment, though I don’t need maintenance."
Sersi said, "The Eternals’ true mission was not to hunt Deviants, but to make humanity multiply until there were enough people to serve as food for a newborn Celestial Group.
"The reason Arishem had us hunt Deviants was because they competed with the infant Celestial Group for food."
Everyone snorted coldly. Sersi continued, "Whenever a mission was completed, Arishem would erase our memories and send us to the next planet.
"Tina’s Mahd Wy’ry happened because something went wrong while her memories were being erased, causing her to frequently recall memories from the past."
Sersi held Tina’s hand. "At first, we all thought those memories were fake. Now we know they were all real."
Ant-Man could not help frowning. "Your boss is really heartless. Even more heartless than a big capitalist like Iron Man."
Tony rolled his eyes. "If you don’t know how to speak, then don’t."
Sersi said, "It’s not a matter of being heartless or not. Both the Deviants and we Eternals were created by the Celestial Group. They are our creators and control everything about us."
Wang Bert asked in confusion, "Why did that Arishem create the Deviants?"
"To eliminate the enemies of intelligent life, such as large beasts."
Sersi said, "Later, the Deviants rebelled. To deal with them, Arishem created us Eternals."
"I see."
Everyone finally understood. Wang Bert asked, "Tell us about the newborn Celestial Group."
"The newborn Celestial Group was placed in Earth’s core over seven thousand years ago. It has been absorbing Earth’s energy as it grows, and it will officially be born in a few months."
Sersi said, "When that happens, it will devour every human on Earth to replenish its nutrients."
"Over our dead bodies."
Everyone was furious. Sersi continued, "Every Celestial Group creates suns and lights up the universe. Although they kill billions of people when they are born, once they mature, they create trillions of lives. That is the cycle of the universe."
Tony sneered. "So we should stand here and let the Celestial Group eat us as food?"
Wang Bert said, "No, we should wash ourselves first before letting them eat us. That would be more polite."
Ant-Man said, "That’s not enough. We should soak in bathtubs full of sauce. I recommend chili sauce."
Faced with everyone’s mockery, Sersi and Tina smiled bitterly. Sersi said, "I don’t agree with this either. Life on Earth should not be sacrificed like this. If you can help us rescue the people Iron Man captured, we have a way to solve this."
Wang Bert asked, "What way?"
"One of our people is named Druig. He can control life. As long as we transfer Cosmic Energy to him, he can put the Celestial Group to sleep."
Sersi said, "Then we can slowly figure out how to move it out of Earth."
Tony thought for a moment, then shook his head. "That method isn’t reliable. I don’t think you can put a Celestial Group to sleep. The Celestial Group is far stronger than you."
Sersi said, "To be honest, I’m not very confident either, but it’s the only way. That is the Celestial Group. Other than us Eternals, no one can deal with them."
Everyone started laughing mockingly. Sersi and Tina were bewildered. Why were they acting like this? They had not lied.
Tony turned to Wang Bert and asked, "Bert, would the Celestial Group in this universe show you the same respect as the ones in the Main Universe?"
"The Celestial Group is very good at bullying the weak and fearing the strong. Unless my true body descends personally, they probably won’t give me any respect."
Wang Bert shook his head. "But you don’t need to worry too much. When things reach the brink, Old Tony will definitely lift the cosmic blockade. At that point, it’ll be settled with one slap."
"That’s good."
Everyone sighed in relief. Having someone powerful to rely on was wonderful. It was a pity the universe was sealed by the Infinity Stones; otherwise, any disaster would be nothing more than a single slap from Blood God.
How strong was Blood God? Just look at the radiant expression on Tony Stark’s face—the Tony Stark of their universe wore a miserable face every day.
"One slap? Sir, I’ve lived for seven thousand years, and you are the biggest braggart I’ve ever met."
Sersi was a very mild-tempered woman, but even she could not help mocking him. "That is the Celestial Group, the supreme beings of the universe. They can destroy Earth with ease."
"If I said I could destroy the Milky Way Galaxy with one punch, you definitely wouldn’t believe me, so I won’t say it."
Wang Bert said, "Miss Sersi, you can stay in Wakanda. We won’t do anything to you. As for rescuing the Eternals, we’ll talk when there’s a suitable opportunity. We don’t have time right now."
Sersi shouted, "Without us, you can’t deal with the Celestial Group."
Everyone merely chuckled. Wang Bert could not be bothered to say more. He turned to Tina and said, "You once protected humanity. I’ll return the favor and cure your Mahd Wy’ry."
Tina asked in surprise, "You can cure my Mahd Wy’ry?"
"Of course. Uh, there are quite a lot of memories in your head. How many do you want to keep?"
Wang Bert asked, "I can preserve all your memories, but you may not be able to bear them."
"I only want the memories of this life. The others aren’t important to me."
Tina answered immediately. In this life, she had met the most important person to her—Gilgamesh. No matter what, she did not want to forget him.
"Fine."
Wang Bert flicked out a Light of the Mind that flew into Tina’s brow. Tina felt her chaotic memories rapidly sorted and organized. Then the Light of the Mind became like an eraser, wiping away all memories from seven thousand years ago.
After finishing, the Light of the Mind returned to Wang Bert’s hand. He was about to leave when he suddenly remembered something and asked, "Do you have a member who understands Mind Power?"
"Mind Power?"
Sersi answered, "Druig’s ability is somewhat similar to Mind Power, but it isn’t exactly the same."
Wang Bert asked again, "Is this Druig male or female?"
Sersi replied, "Male. He was captured by Iron Man before. Other than him, no Eternals possess Mind Power."
Wang Bert narrowed his eyes. "In other words, the person who tried to ambush Iron Man’s wife and daughter earlier wasn’t one of your Eternals?"
"Ambush Iron Man’s wife and daughter?"
Sersi and Tina froze. Sersi said, "Blood God, aside from us, the other Eternals are either dead or captured by Iron Man. The person who ambushed Iron Man’s wife and daughter definitely wasn’t an Eternal."
Everyone immediately frowned. If it was not an Eternal, then who was it? Could there be another major villain?
They framed the Eternals. Most likely because of my conversation with Old Tony. In other words, they were on the moon at the time. The problem is, I didn’t notice them at all!
Wang Bert’s pupils shrank. It seemed this chessboard had more than just him and Old Tony as players.
Do they want to be the oriole stalking the mantis?
Wang Bert snorted inwardly. He said to Sersi and Tina, "Whether you stay or go is up to you. Director Fury, help me receive them."
"Understood."
Director Fury nodded. He would use this opportunity to learn everything he could about the Eternals.
Sersi wanted to say something else, but Wang Bert had already left. Then Little Tony, Tony Stark’s "illegitimate son," walked over and said, "I want to fight you and confirm the strength of the Eternals."
Hawkeye and the others watched Sersi and Tina with great interest. Sersi said, "My power is Transformation of All Things. For example, I can turn stone into water. It isn’t suited for combat."
"Transformation of All Things? Such an advanced ability?"
Tony’s eyes lit up. "I officially invite you to become my assistant and help me research new armor."
Sersi said, "Assistant? If you can help me rescue the other Eternals, I’m willing to become your assistant."
Tony shook his head. "Given the current situation, we can’t take the initiative to rescue the Eternals, especially when no one knows whether the other Eternals are good or evil."
"They’re all good people. Little Tony, if you can give me a suit of armor, I can be your assistant."
Sersi gritted her teeth as she spoke. Clearly, she wanted a suit of armor so she could rescue the Eternals herself.
Tony thought for a moment. "I’ll give you Rhodey’s armor."
Rhodey shouted in dissatisfaction, "Tony, that’s my armor! And War Machine has been with me for years. He’s my brother through life and death."
"I was planning to upgrade you to Nanotech Armor. If you don’t want it, forget it."
Tony snorted. Rhodey was rather pitiful, really. Old Tony was already wearing Nanotech Armor, while Rhodey was still using the original version of his armor, with no progress at all.
"Really?"
Rhodey was overjoyed and hurriedly said, "No problem, Tony. You can give that armor to whoever you want."
Tony asked sideways, "But isn’t that your brother through life and death? Maybe I shouldn’t give it away?"
