Everyone Can Be Hydra

Hydra had always been obsessed with collecting talent. They were eager to gather every elite under their command, then unite everyone’s strength to strive toward the same goal.

With Thor Peter’s immense reputation now, how could Hydra not covet him? As for whether the organization might be usurped by Thor, no one really cared.

Cut off one head, and two more will grow in its place.

Everyone in Hydra was an elite. Therefore, even if one head died, another would immediately appear to take over the organization. The goal remained unchanged; anyone could be Hydra.

"When a ruler treats his ministers like brothers, they will regard him as their heart and soul. When a ruler treats his ministers like dogs and horses, they will regard him as a stranger. When a ruler treats his ministers like dirt and weeds, they will regard him as an enemy."

Hydra did not care about the lives of its subordinates. Likewise, Hydra’s subordinates changed bosses as easily as they changed clothes. As long as the new boss recognized Hydra’s ideology, he could smoothly take up the position.

Only those capable of subduing everyone else deserved to be called a boss. Those without such ability deserved to be overthrown by their subordinates!

Although Peter was now nominally working for S.H.I.E.L.D., S.H.I.E.L.D. was one thing, and Hydra’s S.H.I.E.L.D. was another. They were not the same.

One was the shell, and the other was the filling.

Now, Hydra had come to recruit Peter.

"Impossible!"

Peter’s expression changed drastically. He was even more shocked than he had been yesterday when he learned that his parents were "commercial spies."

Thomas smiled and gestured with his hand. "Let’s find somewhere to talk. I can show you the evidence."

Peter hesitated for a long while, but in the end, he could not hold himself back. He followed Thomas into the car.

They arrived at the same café as yesterday, with the same private room, coffee, and pastries.

This time, Peter was the first to speak. He said anxiously, "Everyone knows that Hydra was wiped out by Captain America during World War II! Who are you, exactly? You spread rumors about my parents. What are you trying to do?"

"Wiped out?" Thomas laughed wildly. "Hahaha… Cut off one head, and two more will grow in its place. Hydra will never perish!"

He took a file from the bag he carried with him and handed it to Peter.

Peter snatched it and unfolded it. It clearly recorded the history of Richard Parker and Mary Parker, almost identical to what he had seen yesterday at S.H.I.E.L.D. However, this file contained additional records of the couple’s training under Hydra.

There were even photographs of the two of them during their training. The evidence was conclusive, as solid as iron and mountain, impossible to refute.

Peter’s legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the sofa. The file in his hands scattered across the floor.

He felt only that his breathing was rapid, his vision spinning, and his head buzzing in total confusion.

Thomas leisurely drank his coffee without saying a word, patiently waiting for Peter across from him to regain his composure.

After an unknown amount of time, Peter’s mind finally cleared a little. He picked up the files from the floor and examined them carefully, trying to find a flaw.

But even with his astonishing intelligence and a brain comparable to a quantum computer, he could not find any flaw in these files.

Peter’s face was pale. Trembling, he held the file, at a loss for what to do.

Thomas put down his coffee cup, leaned forward, fixed his eyes on Peter, and said:

"Once Hydra, always Hydra."

"Peter, you were born to be Hydra!"

"No! I’m not!" Peter screamed frantically. "This is fake! All of this is fake! It’s forged!"

A vicious glint appeared in Peter’s eyes, and he looked ready to silence Thomas.

Thomas, however, paid no attention to his murderous intent and said leisurely, "If you don’t believe it, you can take the files to a professional agency and have them examined. See whether they’re real or fake. But you must think carefully about what consequences might arise if the information leaks."

Thomas was extremely confident in the "authenticity" of the files. He was certain that no one could uncover any flaws. Of course, even if someone did, it would not matter. The organization had naturally prepared countermeasures long ago.

"Peter, kill me!" Thomas stared intensely at Peter, teasing him with a playful look. "I guarantee that no one besides me knows about these files. Not even anyone in Hydra!"

Peter’s killing intent grew stronger. His Magnetic Field Force had already begun circulating, spinning rapidly inside his body. Thomas was clearly just an ordinary man. Peter could kill him completely with a casual strike, and even disposing of the body would be no trouble.

However… his reason kept stopping him, refusing to let him do it.

Thomas suddenly chuckled. "Heh heh, look, Peter. You want to kill me, silence me, and cover up the truth…"

"Look at what you’re doing… It’s exactly Hydra’s style!"

"Peter, you’re a natural-born Hydra! Hahaha…" Thomas burst into maniacal laughter.

Those words instantly shattered Peter’s defenses. His expression changed drastically, his whole body convulsed, and he felt as if he had been struck by lightning. For a moment, he could barely breathe.

"No, that’s not it. I’m not…" He shook his head repeatedly, muttering to himself.

Unable to withstand the painful reality, he turned and fled outside.

He staggered out of the café and wandered the streets in a daze. After being hit and thrown by cars three times, he finally regained a little clarity.

It was already dark. He pulled out his phone and glanced at it. There were more than ten missed calls, all from Gwen, Uncle Ben, and Aunt May. Warmth filled his heart. He called each of them back first, making up an excuse about temporary S.H.I.E.L.D. business and brushing the matter off.

After hanging up, he looked at the file still clenched tightly in his hand. For a moment, he had no idea what to do with it.

Destroying the files would be easy, but destroying them did not mean the truth would disappear. Although he was only a naive high school student, he understood perfectly that Hydra would not have come after him at this time without making preparations. They would not let him escape so easily.

He was utterly lost and had no idea what to do.

Should I confess everything to Uncle Ben and Aunt May?

No!

I absolutely can’t drag Uncle Ben and Aunt May into this. It’s too dangerous!

Likewise, he could not involve Gwen. Although her father was the police chief and could help verify whether the files were real, a mere police chief would have no power to resist an international terrorist organization like Hydra. Her ability to withstand risks was even worse than his own. At least he was a Magnetic Field Warrior.

Could I ask S.H.I.E.L.D. for help?

Hydra had been destroyed by S.H.I.E.L.D. last time, so perhaps they could do it again.

But his own parents were Hydra too! Would S.H.I.E.L.D. help him? Especially recalling what Thomas had said, he had to consider what consequences might arise if the information leaked.
